Bagels were delicious and sandwiches were pretty good with a variety of cream cheeses and flavors to choose from, inside is pretty small but they have outdoor seating and a nice backyard area as well.
We were really excited to try this spot after seeing it be so hyped up by a lot of people across different platforms, unfortunately it was just okay! It wasn't bad by no means but also didn't blow it out the park. We ordered bacon egg and cheeses on sesame bagels since those were the only ones left. I think maybe another 30-50 people came in after us, and considering it was a Sunday and a popular brunch time for most people in Miami, I thought they'd have more variety available, especially of more popular bagels like everything or plain. Regardless, the sesame ones were good. The fillings were okay, I expected the cheese to be cheddar or an American, but this seemed like a Kraft single. The eggs were also not scrambled or fried but an in between. The bacon was good and crispy. What we did really enjoy was their watermelon refresher or breezer, it was so yummy and refreshing, with a nice lime flavor, a nice balance between sweet and sour/acidic. Service was good and the staff was very nice! There isn't much seating available but the inside has a couple of stools and has a really cool ambiance. Happy to try again sometime and give it another chance, I think it may just have been a closing shift lol.
El Bagel is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Coconut Grove. My go-to order is the King Guava--the sweet and salty combo is perfect, and the freshly made potato stix take it over the top. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and worth the hype. If you're looking for a great breakfast sandwich, this is the place.
I am El Bagel's number one fan, and this was my first time trying the coconut grove location. Initially, I tried doing an online order so it would be ready by the time I arrived, but for some reason this location doesn't let you do this. I was pretty nervous when I realized this cause the other location is like an hour wait for your food. Upon arrival, I saw a line formed outside so my friend dropped me off to get in line while she found a parking spot. Turns out, there was only a line outside because it's so small inside the restaurant that only 5 people max can fit lol. The line went super fast, so I ended up having to call my friend to ask her order. The workers were super kind and helpful. I will say the menu doesn't list all available options, so if you don't know what they offer you're sort of limiting your options. That's why I like ordering online they give you all the available options to choose from and modifications you can add. I put my order in and they told me it would be about 10-15 minutes which was very accurate. They have benches outside to sit on and wait with a covered awning to protect you from the sun/rain. They use a mega phone to yell out your name when your order is ready and there's an outdoor pickup window. They also have condiments and stuff like that on a cart outside as well. The bagel was delicious as always. I will say the hash brown tasted different than previously, but it was still delicious. I got the BEC everything bagel, toasted, with cream cheese and hashbrown added. 10/10.
Let me start this review by saying I am a big bagel fan. That said, having tried quite a few bagels is why I am only giving this a four out of five star. If you are not like this, you might think this place was a five out of five. Living in Miami, everybody knows about El bagel, from word-of-mouth to billboards. This was my first time trying. Our order consisted of one poppyseed bagel with veggie cream cheese and the BEC. THE BEC bagel was a solid choice and you got what you would expect. We ordered this on a garlic bagel, would have liked it to be a little stronger garlic taste. Other than that, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the bacon was very crispy. They had a great ratio for bacon to egg, every bite had all elements. I think adding a cream cheese of some sort would help this become next level. The poppyseed bagel was black on the outside with how many pop seats were on it, definitely strong flavor there. Veggie cream cheese was good, not the best I've had but a good choice to add flavor. It was very busy as to be expected on a Sunday morning, but took only maybe 10 minutes to get our bagels which I thought was impressive. I've been to bagel shops that you can easily wait 45 minutes at the same level of busyness. Not a very big sitting area, most people were waiting for their orders outside, which was fine because they had a microphone to announce your name. There is public seating right across the street though so that really isn't an issue. Overall, I might come back as there aren't very many homemade bagel options in Miami, but I think I would rather take a drive up to Fort Lauderdale as they have some solid spots there.
Yum yum yum. I can't believe I only recently tried El Bagel - especially after hearing all the hype around it! I opted for a salt bagel with herb cream cheese - and yum, yum, yum. When a bagel is fresh and chewy enough, it truly doesn't need any toasting to be good. I also tried their drink special which was some sort of watermelon juice concoction - so refreshing on a hot Miami day! My husband opted for one of their breakfast sandwiches and seemed to enjoy it.
I am always so impressed with El Bagel and their entire operation! The shop is small, but they are very efficient and have a great set up to keep the long line moving quickly. All of the staff are very friendly as well. Everything on the menu is delicious, and they have gluten free bagels. A CG favorite!

El Bagel, perfect moniker for a Miami bagel shoppe! A short stroll from our hotel overlooking Dinner Key Marina, we scoped it out the day before as we knew we'd have to grab a couple before we headed back to North FL. We read these were homemade - boy you can tell that they are! I got the Lox Supreme on pumpernickel (of course). Perfect blend and amounts of cream cheese, (lox thinly sliced but layered- much better than thick pieces you find elsewhere) the red onion was pleasantly pickled (my new preference) & cucumbers were also shaved and seemed to may be slightly pickled -not sure but delish! Oh and the correct amount of capers evenly distributed. One of the best I've had. My husband ordered the BEC also a perfect blend and ratio of each, eggs fluffy, bacon crispy, cheese melty! He devoured his! We were able to sit at the small 6 seat counter bar inside. Busy but quick and efficient! A "be back" when in the Grove.
As usual the tiny hole in the wall places tend to have quality food. El Bagel is no different. It is a tiny establishment tucked in next to the Coconut Grove parking garage on Virginia Street. There are 4 stools against the back wall for bar seating and some bench type seats outside. Guys the line to this place is normally well out the door, but we got lucky today was Passover and there was a nearby Farmer's Market so we ordered and got our food very quickly, but be prepared to wait a little normally, but wait because it's worth it! Ordered from the counter and the staff couldn't have been nicer, all smiles and pleasant attitudes. We waited by the window with bated breath for our name to be called so we could dig in! Bf got the SEC (sausage, egg, and cheese on a plain toasted bagel) and I got the BEC (bacon, egg, and cheese also on a plain toasted bagel). These were huge, cheesy af, and so good (a tad messy, but again totally worth it). I also had an iced hibiscus tea which was refreshing for our walk back home. This was worth the hype, I'll definitely be back again! Very soon!
My mom is in town and was jonesing for a good bagel. I read the good reviews for El Bagel and decided to give it a try. The locale itself is very small. They have a counter to order from and a counter against the window with 3-4 stools to sit and dine. They also seem to have some basic seating outside (think wooden boxes/benches and a couple of umbrellas). We weren't able to sit outside because it was pouring but I'm sure on a sunny day it would have been suitable seating to enjoy a meal. They have tap water outside served in a cooler which is also a very nice touch given the weather here. They sell drip coffee which wasn't my favorite and of course bagels and bagel sandwiches. I really enjoyed the BLT. I was able to substitute the (B)acon for egg which was nice. The sandwich was large and the bagel was really good. My mom also agreed that they serve good quality bagels.
Very efficient & friendly. Definitely don't scrimp on toppings.. Order inside, pick up outside window. Reasonable price. Got there a little after 9 on a Saturday, no line. Get extra napkins if taking your order to go for a picnic.
Gluten free for me!!! Wow the gluten-free everything bagel was absolutely delicious and very soft compared to most gluten-free breads I've had. I paired it with the lox and it was very delicious! The iced latte with almond milk was also a good size portion and decided to bring home the BEC on plain bagel. Also a good choice. Be aware it is a small location. They have signs posted to order inside and then wait outdoors and they will call you from a little window when your order is ready.
I'm not sure why everyone hypes this place up. The bagels are just your average tasting bagel. Sure they are good but waiting an hour for an average tasting bagel is insane. I got the BEC with everything bagel and the everything seasoning was lacking. Not really any service provided other than them handing you the bag but of course they'd expect you to tip them 20% for that. The space itself is tiny so you'll order inside and then have to stand outside waiting for your order. There is sitting outside so that is nice. A great new spot (albeit hard to find) that left me feeling satiated and warm - perfect for the cooler weather this time of year in Miami. I'd heard of the original El Bagel from friends, but it was farther than I wanted to trek. Safe to say, very happy this opened up in Coconut Grove. It's cozy, has a warm staff and amazing bagels. I ordered the BEC with drip coffee and was not disappointed. Definitely would consider coming back. read more

I was staying at hotel arya and was craving something good for breakfast. I had walked by this place the day before and had seen the long line and was curious to try it. It is a tiny bagel shop, but you can tell the people that work there like it. When I say tiny I mean tiny there are only 4 seats inside and a couple places to sit outside but no tables. I ordered a lavender iced matcha and a lox bagel closed. I was impressed by the freshness of the bagel. I loved all the things inside specially the cucumber capers and dill. I felt like it was a great portion. The matcha was delicious as well. If you are craving a breakfast sandwich this is your spot! read more

Ok so the ONLY reason this place is not getting a 5/5 is simply pricing, I personally think they charge a little too much for a bagel sandwich. I understand it is Miami and in the middle of the grove so your definitely paying for those things as well.. Other than that the bagel sandwiches are really good ! The bagels are nice and soft and the fillings are delicious. It gets busy on the weekend and the store isn't big. So this is more of an order out situation. The staff is kind and the wait time isn't long. I enjoyed these bagel sandwiches. read more

Definitely in small bagel shop but it took me back to when I live in New York. A very nice warm cozy place with a straight forward menu! Delicious options choose from besides the bagels they also sell coffee and teas which is a plus for me. Service was fast and easy. Totally recommend this place. read more
Yum!!! I had heard great things about El Bagel and knew I wanted to check this spot out while in Miami. I got the king guava and a cold brew with vanilla. Yum! The king guava was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. I also tried their pastrami breakfast sandwich and that thing is not messing around. It's legit like bbq style pastrami, not deli pastrami. So good! We found seats around the corner within the shopping center nearby. If I lived near here I would certainly be a regular. read more

Saw this place online and had to stop by. This is a very small bagel shop with extreme limited seating so keep that mind. But it was such a good choice!! The service was quick and the ladies behind the register were really nice and accommodating. you don't feel rushed at all even with a big line that seems to be constant all day! The bagels taste fresh and are so fluffy and baked to perfection! They do have some fun bagel sandwich options so there is some thing for everyone. Today we stuck to the Classics with just a bacon, egg and cheese on a sesame and all good reviews on my end. They even use fresh egg which you can both see and taste! I'm marooned at the tragically mediocre Mutiny Hotel until my permanent place in East Little Havana comes online. After four months of never eating breakfast here -- I usually only have an amazing iced latte at Narbona on CocoWalk -- I got a late start on a Saturday morning and felt like a bagel. So I remembered this hyped spot from Yelp and from walking past it typically at night after work. I panicked during my order so I forgot what I planned to order and instead got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted sesame bagel. It was delicious. I'm from New York where the bagels are the best, but these had good texture. I would only describe them as much lighter and a bit smaller in size. There is a benefit to these being easier to eat and just not too large. The egg was cooked sunny side up (I didn't specify), and it tasted like it was cooked on a clean grill. There was no taste of grease or 30 other kinds of grill fallout on that egg. The cheese was melted, and the bacon was good although it could have used a bit more. My iced oat milk latte was okay, but I forgot to order it light so it was darker and more bitter than I would like. I own that mistake. I'm going back tomorrow to order what I wanted to, and that is a pastrami, egg, and cheese on a toasted bagel. If El Bagel doesn't self destruct on that order, consider this my approval. I'd love to bring my wife and son (10) here when they want a bagel. read more
My jaw hurts from how much and how hard I had to chew. I've been to the OG location and now certainly believe this is simply hype after visiting the new coco walk location. I'm sorry as this may be devastating to hear but even with no line it's simply not that much of a bagel. Even the ingredients like the cheese and sausage combo on the SEC literally tasted like a McDonald's egg McMuffin. Their schmear is delish but let's be real...when and where isn't cream cheese delicious? The service was great, Marco at the register is simply a ray of sunshine but to wait 20 min+ for a bagel that's miserable to chew and completely lackluster. Just hype read more
Top bagels in the area. The place is quite tiny and the line is always long so I would recommend getting there early. There is street parking available. The Everything Bagel was great. The Salt bagel was too salty. The tuna special bagel sandwich was fantastic. The lox bagel sandwich was decent. read more
Would give it five stars if I didn't find a hair in my bagel but because were human and things happen I can't knock it down for that inconvenience... I immediately addressed the situation& they apologized and gave me a brand new one. I ordered the king guava bagel that came with a fried egg, potato sticks, plain cream cheese, guava marmalade on your choice of bagel. It was absolutely delicious, especially since I personally like the sweet and salty combination... I could've done without the iced coffee was not a fan of it. The place was absolutely packed but the wait time wasn't too bad for having so many people in line . I will say you're better off taking your order to go because its a tiny spot and not a lot of chairs to eat there, only a couple of barstools along the wall read more

I got the chance to visit a Miami native fav, El Bagel! I got the SEC on a salt bagel and it was heavenly. I learned the history of both this location and the first which was pretty cool. The service was so fast and friendly despite the space being small and many people coming in and out. Word on the street is all the cool kids get their breakfast here, idk idk. Visit ASAP! read more

Great breakfast spot to grab and your breakfast and go. There is limited seating inside (there's like 4 - 5 seats at a bar counter). We went on a weekend at around 10 am and while there was a line, the wait time wasn't too bad...about 15-20 minutes. The sausage, egg, and cheese was delicious and the bagel was perfect. A lot of times with bagel sandwiches the bagels are tough to bite from but this one was just right. It was veryyy messy, so double up on the napkins. The ice latte was good too and you could customize it to your liking with the various milk and flavor options. read more

Miami's Bagel craze El Bagel has finally come to Coconut Grove! Located on the side of Cocowalk, this location for now is just a grab and go spot. Hopefully they will add outside seating seeing they have a few bar seating inside. Looking forward to the full opening! read more

Clearly the food and customer service has gone down hill tremendously since my last visit. The lady at the front was extremely rude when answering a simple question. And I also didn't realize "toasted" means burnt even though there's a burnt option. It's sad that this place was good at one point and is just not it anymore. Mediocre sandwich+ burnt+ 36 min wait + terrible customer service = never returning. read more

I always pass by the first location but I never go in, so, I'm so glad this just opened up in the area. I ordered the lox bagel and las tardes. The bagels were thickkk and delicious. There was a line but it went by pretty quick for being new to the area. 100% recommend. read more
This morning the sun is beaming down on El Bagel. Right on the corner of Virginia and Florida, this self-proclaimed "tiny bagel shop" gives off New York bagel shop vibes in the most Miami way. On the street, service trucks plow about making their deliveries, and all the people of Coconut Grove (some from the Mayfair hotel across the street and others are locals like myself or people who work walking distance) flow in and out of El Bagel to get their morning carb/fat/caffeine fix. It's the Avo Spesh for me today and the saltiness from the everything bagel to the creaminess of the smashed avocado-cream cheese combo cut with the crisp flavor of cucumber, the sharp flavor of radish, topped off with the slight grassiness of the sprouts is--as you might have already guessed it, a symphony of taste. It's delicious indeed and stands out as a bagel shop in Miami. It's almost impossible to just eat half of the bagel, even though they are relatively large. And if a bagel with all the bells and whistles isn't your thing, the good news is that a regular old bagel and cream cheese here is exactly what you'd come to expect from one, except the craft in which they make it, makes them that much better. The location in Coconut Grove is tiny in size and has limited seating however the food was delicious. I opted for the salmon bagel (Nova Lox) which was delicious. I'll definitely be returning, though it's more of a grab-and-go spot due to the limited seating. An interesting touch was the two prices based on whether you want the bagel sandwich closed or open - I went for closed since it was cheaper. read more

The best bagel shop in Miami. I recommend only getting the bagel sandwiches over just cream cheese or butter on its own at this place. Went on a Saturday morning and the wait was only about 15 minutes between waiting in line, ordering, and receiving my order. They were efficient! read more

El Bagel has everything tailored to perfection from the customer service to the menu. I have to wait about three minutes to place my order and, the kind gentleman aided me in making my selections. My favorites so far are the iced Matcha latte and the EBC on a plan bagel. Everything is incredibly fresh. The bagels are soft and semi crunch when toasted. The matcha is perfectly caffeinated and semi sweet when you add vanilla. I will be coming again!! read more
