New visit. Came for dinner; I love this place. Very quiet. No delay with nachos/salsa, drinks (2ice teas), or ordering. They do not hover but are very attentive. My only complaint, is the Flan. This visit, and the last (a couple days ago), I ended the meal with the Flan. Both times, it was hard, and gritty (with probable sugar bits, but Flan shouldn't be like this. The service is always speedy and excellent - despite the fact that there's usually only two servers on the floor at most. Alcohol is a tad pricey but everything else makes up for it. We were in Seneca Falls, in from Syracuse on business, and figured we would drive down the main drag to look for lunch. We decided to eat here because the restaurant was quiet and clean. The chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered the huevos rancheros, which were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. My daughter ordered the chicken, which was smothered in sautéed onions and just the right amount of cream sauce. Two lunches with drinks cost about $21.00, and we could not eat it all. We love: THE CEVICHE, the mole, the carnitas, the chimichangas, the enchiladas, the shrimp diabla, the guacamole, the salsa, the pickled onions (on everything!), the margaritas, the service, and -- without a doubt -- the prices. We feel lucky to have such good Mexican food in our little Seneca Falls. If you're passing through and have one meal, El Bajio is as good as it gets. Just went for the first time and I was extremely satisfied. Interior is simple and what you would expect for a new restaurant. I got the pork carnitas which is slow roasted pork and it was one of the best I've had. Everything was very flavorful, even the refried beans which is impressive. Signage outside pretty much non-existant, unfortunately for them, because the menu is awesome and seems very authentic. Seneca Falls has a secret, amazing authentic Mexican food right downtown. It was impossible to find from the street, it was nearly empty, and the old pizza joint feel left a little to be desired style wise, but the food was amazing. I went a la carte which is a great option to have. Three kinds of enchiladas, carnitas, and the best chile relleno I've ever had. The sauce over all was fresh, light and home made. The salsa was fresh. I wanted more spice in the tamale but the texture was smooth and dense. The test of any Mexican restaurant is the rice and beans which did not disappoint. Cojita cheese on the beans. Service was attentive and quick. I'll definitely be back. read more

My heart goes out to their staff. They had 2 employees who were hosting, waiting tables, tending bar, checking on the kitchen and bussing tables - it was an impossible task. As the line patrons grew in front of the hostess stand I died a little inside when I overheard someone order a margarita as I knew it was yet another task the 2 Renaissance workers would try to juggle. They approached what was a Herculean task with good cheer and I'm hoping that multiple people didn't show up for the dinner shift on 7/10 - otherwise ownership is blowing it. Food was great! Spence and I hit this place for lunch today. It was great! We tried several dishes including carne asada tacos, carnitas tostados, beef enchiladas, chicken tostadas, a carne asada tostada and rice and beans. It was all Very Good! And, on top of that, they offer Coca Cola products to drink. They don't have a liquor or beer license yet. So good! We went for lunch on the busiest day ever - 1/21/17, the Women's March where approximately 10,000 people descended on Seneca Falls. Obviously there was a bit of a wait but, we were amazed how the one busboy and two waiters were able to keep the 20 or so full tables moving. Once seated, they brought chips and salsa & quickly took our drink order. Chips were the homemade hearty style, not too salty, and held the salsa nicely. Salsa was good to please most palates but, I'd prefer it with more of a kick. The menu is large with all the expected dishes and some creative vegetarian options. I had the spinach enchiladas. It came with rice and guac 'salad' - guac on a bed of lettuce, red onions & tomato.The dish was delish and the enchilada sauce was perfect. My companion ordered the vegetarian burritos which were deep fried but, not too heavy or greasy. Hers came with beans, rice & the guac salad. Her only thought was the cheese on top was of a processed variety but, we did not confirm. Prices were reasonable. Looking forward to stopping there again when in the area!
