Worst customer service! My friend and I wanted to try the Torta ahogadas so we decided to go during lunch. We informed the waiter who took our order that we are ordering to go and paid for our tortas, in the mean while we had also bought some jericalla after placing our first order. After waiting 25/30 mins and noticing all the other customers that had arrived after us being served we asked the status of our to go order for the server/person who charged us to say oh we forgot about your order, we just thought you were hanging out! And instead of giving us a refund they decided to make the to go order which legit took them less than 5 mins to make And on top of that to still have the nerve to charge us for a refill after having us wait a long time after they admitted they forgot about the first order that we had paid for! As soon as we got there we were lucky to get a table without wait we weren't greeted but we went with someone that had been before and knew its a seat yourself kind of deal, the menu is already on the table its pretty simple basically the famous dishes from Mexico is what you'll see. I dined at a trendy modern Latin/fusion restaurant miles from here and they served something they passed off as barbacoa (tasted like mop strands soaked in mild chili sauce). Barbacoa should be done with beef cheeks and/or the meat from the head braised then flash grilled to add some crispy bits. Today I set out to find decent barbacoa. Biriatazo specializes in Tortas in Guadalajara style. But I came for barbacoa. Their barbacoa seems to be done with brisket and then shredded into strands. The barbacoa tacos are distinctive and satisfying with wonderful seasoning and fresh crisp condiments. My only reservation is the barbacoa is a tad too lean for my preference. I like a barbacoa that hits you with the power of well marbled short rib. As far as ambiance there is none, people are here to eat good food period.
