The Hot Cheetos asada fries were very bland and dry. Honestly, it did not seem like any of the food we ordered was seasoned. The al pastor tacos also had no flavor at all. There were more refried beans than meat, which was disappointing. The only positive was that the homemade tortillas were good. The shrimp ceviche was the most disappointing item. The shrimp had no lime flavor and was rubbery, almost like it was store-bought. The tomatoes did not taste fresh either and seemed more like canned tomatoes. To make it worse, the limes served with it were old and dry, so there was barely any juice to add flavor. The Tapatío sauce ended up being the best part of the ceviche. The churro was probably the only item we actually finished. Quality of food was just not great and literally no flavor. read more

I met Leslie at her Kiosk at Allegiant Stadium and got her carne asada tacos at every single home game. Was very disappointed when the Raiders didn't bring her back last season and haven't had tacos at the stadium since. Promised her I would make to to her restaurant one day and I finally did over the home opener weekend. Man I missed this tacos, they are just soooo simple, but soooo good. I also got cheese enchiladas, because that is my jam at Mexican restaurants. They were delicious, with the perfect amount of red sauce. It was 115 pm but they were people in the place. I ordered the combo enchilada plate with beef. The place was small with about 12 tables but clean and cozy. The portions were perfect for lunch. The corn tortillas were a bit undercooked, the meat a bit tough but the, beans, and rice were tasty. The sauce in the enchiladas was mildly spicy and flavorful. I ordered a carne asada burrito through DoorDash and unfortunately it wasn't good. The beans were grainy and tasted old, and the carne asada had very little flavor and also didn't taste fresh. I made it to Abuela's for their 15th anniversary in business celebration. They had a huge party, some city council member made it there and other officials. A dj was present and a mariachi band was also present. A huge contingent of low rider vehicles were there ti help celebrate the occasion. Now let's get down to what I'm interested in, the food, I ordered the lengua taco and a al pastor. The lengua seemed to be just boiled with no spices to bring out some flavour, it was rather bland, just boiled lengua without any character. The al pastor is certainly not what I expected, I'm normally used to al pastor being more moist with a little sauce, this was also not the case. Abuela's Tacos is legit! I originally discovered this place by accident while I was having some work done on my Tesla nearby. I needed somewhere to grab a bite while I waited, stopped into Abuela's, and ended up finding one of my new favorite taco spots in Vegas. I tried about four different tacos, including the Hot Cheetos shrimp tacos, and everything was . The tacos were packed with flavor, the different salsas were excellent, and the food definitely lived up to the name--this is the kind of place that feels like somebody's abuela is actually back there making sure you eat right. What really stood out, though, was the service. Jesse took care of me and was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The whole place had a genuine family atmosphere. After I finished eating, they even let me hang out and relax until my car was ready to be picked up. Nobody rushed me out or made me feel like I was taking up space. That kind of hospitality sticks with you. Fast-forward to Mexican Independence Day I knew I wanted tacos. There are obviously a TON of places in Vegas I could have gone, but instead I drove all the way across town specifically to come back to Abuela's. That should tell you everything. Came here while visiting from Reno and honestly, I wish I ordered more. We got the Hot Cheetos tacos, asada gordita, lengua taco, chicharrón taco, and an asada taco. Everything was so good. The lengua taco is a MUST. Super tender and full of flavor, probably my favorite out of everything we tried. If you want something different, try the Hot Cheetos tacos. They're unique but actually really good, not just a gimmick. The asada gordita really impressed me too. The tortilla tasted freshly made and the texture was perfect. You can tell they care about what they're serving. On top of that, the customer service was great. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. After a busy day working & running errands, I decided to grab a quick lunch to enjoy at home. I'd seen a lot of TikToks about this place, and it was on my way, so the timing was perfect. I ordered a shrimp taco, a chicken taco, and two carne asada tacos. I'm glad I got a mix so I could try different options. The tortillas were delicious; honestly some of the best I've had in a while. They were fresh, slightly puffy, and sturdy enough to not fall apart. No need to double up. Loved them. The shrimp taco was decent. I assumed it'd be grilled shrimp, but I did enjoy the breading. The carne asada tacos were my favorite. Juicy, tender, flavorful, and just a little fatty in a good way. The meat had a delicious char flavor. I would order them again. The chicken taco, unfortunately, was very dry and a bit bland. Even after adding toppings and lime, it still didn't move me. Customer service was great and the prices are fair. One small downside was that online ordering wasn't available when I tried, which was disappointing. Granted, I didn't try calling, but the website does have a button to order online for pickup via GrubHub. Also, while most of the restaurant was clean, I did notice crumbs & what looked like a spill on the bench next to me. Our first time coming here and we were greeted by Leslie the owner. You can tell she takes pride in her business and delivering amazing food. We had the tacos and tortas Al pastor and chicken flautas and tacos. All were so delicious and the handmade tortillas were just the icing on top. Not a lot of places do tortillas hechos a mano so we're happy we found this spot. The owner was so nice. She came out and asked us how our food was and just had a nice chat with her. She even gave my son complimentary rice and beans and said I know my kids liked this when they were little and she was right haha. Don't let the unassuming shopping center fool you. I got the carne asada tacos from Abuela's and they were very good. We took our order to go, but there is seating available if you want to dine in. We had heard about the freshly made tortillas and they definitely lived up to the hype and they were amazing. The flavor of the meat was also excellent and everything tasted fresh. The workers were very kind and you can tell they put a lot of effort into their food and service. The inside of restaurant has a simple, welcoming feel that makes it easy to enjoy a meal there if you choose to stay. If I lived closer, I would definitely come back more often. read more

The aroma of food when we walked in we knew it would be tasty. Decided to try their famous hot Cheetos taco and get it with asada. I have no idea how this place has so many positive reviews because the food is an absolute insult to authentic Mexican cuisine. It tastes like bottom-tier cafeteria food. I ordered the torta al pastor and it was completely inedible. The meat was a salty mess but somehow had zero actual flavor, the bread was the cheapest quality possible, and they literally just tossed a whole tomato inside instead of actually preparing it. It was so repulsive I couldn't even finish it. If you want real Mexican food, stay far away from this place. It is pure garbage. read more

Every time it's a hit or miss. It's never consistent. Sometimes all the food looks good, but theres NO hot Cheetos dust and I'm paying liek $4 extra dollars for that... sometimes the fish tacos fish is so burnt that it changes the whole flavor and it just tastes burnt. Sometimes everything great but theres barely any meat in the taco... like I said good food it's just so inconsistent and ive had to call a few times, they do make it right, to be fair... But it's a 30 min drive and I hate the hassle, I'd hope it's just right the 1st time. read more
