Saw this place had a Taco Tuesday and decided to try it. For the special, it's $2 per taco for selected meats (pollo, al pastor, barbacoa, and carnitas). The best ones there were pollo and carnitas. The al pastor had a heavy smoke taste and was a bit dry. It did come with some pineapple on the taco. I also tried the chicharron, lengua, and tripas which were normal price. The lengua was tender but could have been more flavorful, the tripas could have been crispier, but the chicharonne was very good. It was a little crispy, a little chewy, good texture with that meat. For agua fresca, there is a rotating 4 flavors. They had pineapple when I went and it was sweet with some fibrous bits of the pineapple. It's located in a parking lot and there are lots of parking spaces. There are a couple tables and a self serve sauce bar. Service is friendly. Overall, they have a wide arrange of meats and a Taco Tuesday special. If I come back, I would maybe try the mulita. read more

My friend and I found them on Tiktok promoting their $2 Taco Tuesdays and we had to try them out. They're located in a pretty large plaza with lots of parking. We arrived around 6:30pm and there was quite a lot of people waiting already. After 30 minutes of waiting for our food the line got super long, so definitely come a bit earlier than dinner time. There are a few tables set up and the sauces/toppings are self serve. Food: * Asada: Crunchy and moist. They used real asada and not ground beef like some other places. Smokey and can taste the flavorful marinade. * Buche: Very tender and fatty. This was my first time having buche and I was pleasantly impressed. * Lengua: Definitely our favorite! The pieces were super tender and moist. There were crunchy smokey bits as well. Unfortunately, lengua isn't part of the $2 taco Tuesday promo so we paid full price, but it was worth it. * Chicharron: Most of the pieces had gotten pretty hard and some of the skin were chewy and no longer crunchy. The flavor wasn't anything special as well. Their watermelon and mango Agua Fresca were delicious. Not too watery or sugary for our taste. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Grabbed dinner from this food truck at Lightscape in SF this past Sunday. The short line moved quickly and service was standard. I ordered a super quesadilla with steak. Requested no guacamole, but they still included this on the plate. It was served hot, the grilled tortilla stuffed with plenty of meat, though not as much cheese. The taste didn't stand out, but it was filling. My bf got the combo quesabirria, which was okay, but obviously not as good as homemade. The consomé was pretty tasty, great for dipping both of our dishes for added flavor. All in all, we had a positive experience. read more

This has to be the nicest food truck I have ever seen. My husband and drove by me had to make a u turn and try this place. First impression was a huge wow for us The menu is a nice size, with so many options I ordered the quesabirrias. The tortillas are freshly made, I asked for mine to be extra crispy. The amount of meat they used was so generous, the flavor was authentic. The consomé was o tasty and not greasy at all. These have to be my favorite quesabirrias. My husband had the al pastor tacos, the meat was so tender and delicious. Full of flavor, the guacamole was perfect. The complementary cucumber, radishes, and salsas is a plus. The place is kept clean, it was not too busy when we were there but a lady was cleaning as people were leaving. The only ready I didn't give them five stars is because they don't take phone orders, I understand they get really busy. Checked out this truck bordering a parking lot because the food smelled amazing! This is more of a grab and go situation since no seating is available. I appreciate the veg and sauce station they have for customers. My favorite was the spicy avocado option! Multiple copies of the menu are posted on the truck so customers don't need to crowd around one area. I'll visit again if I'm in the area. SERVICE: My burrito was made pretty quickly and the cashier was very friendly! He asked if I wanted all the components of my burrito inside in case substitutes were needed. Once your order is finished, another staff member will call your order out from the backside of the truck haha. FOOD: *Regular burrito -- I went with carne asada and it was so delicious! They provide a lot of components for a regular burrito which I enjoyed. Most places in the Bay Area only do rice, beans, meat, onion and cilantro now. El Bombero went the extra mile by including a lot of pico de gallo and self-serve sauces + freshly sliced radish! The meat was very flavorful and tender. Tortilla was so good, not dry at all. This is one of the few places where I didn't have to deal with oil dripping from the bottom, yay! Stopped by El Bombero 408 taco truck after playing volleyball with some friends from church since it was nearby, and the food was alright! Not bad, but nothing that really wowed me. I had the pastor and carne tacos and tried some of my husband's carne asada burrito, and the flavors were pretty standard but didn't leave me wanting more. That said- the portions were definitely generous (I think we ended up saving half the burrito for next day's lunch), and I liked that the meals came with complimentary chips and salsa. My family and I frequently visit this location for your $2 Taco Tuesday special, which my mother particularly enjoys. However, over the past three weeks, we have noticed that individuals who appear to be employees have been parking in the single handicap parking spot. My mother is handicapped and cannot walk long distances, making this parking space essential for her access to your restaurant. The limited parking at this location further exacerbates the issue. While we appreciate the food, this parking situation significantly impacts our experience. We also wanted to mention that the indoor seating area making it difficult to hear orders. Genuinely the best tacos and the best deal for tacos (on taco Tuesday) in all of San Jose at the moment. Their carne asada is slightly Smokey in flavor, which is unusual but very good like a barbecue. Their carne asada salsas are also all very good, especially the salsa verde. read more

I came on a Friday afternoon and there was no wait. I've seen videos of this place on Instagram so I wanted to try this out for myself. The truck is located in a parking lot next to the Harley Davidson motorcycle shop. There's a couple of tables in a covered seating area if you want to eat there. I ordered four tacos, two Al Pastor and two Chicharron. I also ordered an agua fresca. The total was $25 for four tacos and a drink which is pretty steep. I didn't get a receipt so I'm assuming the chicharron tacos were more pricey. I was excited to try the chicharron, the flavor was good. Very good crispy texture with a good chew on the rest of the meat. The al pastor, a staple for me, was alright. The flavor was alright, it came with a couple pieces of pineapple. Second Taco Tuesday at El Bombero and it did not disappoint. The tacos here are served up hot, fresh, tasty and loaded! I sure hope they don't change that. Customer service is friendly and fast... Although except to wait in line to order and for pick up. Trust, it's worth the wait. Love the fire truck theme and they even ring the siren when it's time for your pickup. I have never seen a big firetruck that delivers tacos to customers! I have tried three small tacos. They also offer Mexican soup, which is perfect for the winter. There are sauces and toppings available for the tacos. I added some guacamole to my taco. I really enjoy guacamole and avocado! Tacos are my favorite! The firefighters serve customers when we are craving tacos in the winter. They are helpful and supportive to the customers. The big firetruck provides a tent for people to cook tacos under. My husband and I had seen them on instagram, and since we were in the area already, we decided to check it out. Mainly my husband wanted us to check it out. I wanted to see if the reviews were true and if IG misled us. The truck seemed wayyyy smaller in size than the one we saw on IG. Maybe the big one is at their other location. This one was standard size. The tacos were $4 each on a flour tortilla (not corn). A bit on the small side, but good. I was disappointed that the al pastor didn't come with pineapple. that's a staple item w/the al pastor. I later saw pictures on here where they did have pineapple, so idk if they ran out or they forgot to add it. I get they're TJ style, but I think they could do without 3the little paper wrapper thing. Is that a TJ thing too? it was annoying to peel off. The asada came w/a scoop of guacamole which was a surprise. we all know guac is extra, but it was included and the guac was pretty good. Service: The dude taking the orders wasn't friendly or welcoming. The menus were sticky-ish (eww) and you could tell there was a film of something on them. Seems they're not cleaned often. They had a few tables w/chairs for seating but didn't seem very clean. They had a salsa bar type thing with utensils. They ran out of forks which is what I needed. I tried one of their salsas - it was good. We took our food to-go and ate in the car instead. A taco car date, if you will :) Would I make a special trip out here just for the food? no. I came here on a Sunday for lunch. It was fairly busy but the tables were not completely full. The food is delicious and the staff I spoke with were friendly but there are two major reasons why my review went from 4 or 5 stars down to 2. 1. I had ordered asada and was served Al pastor. I brought it up to my server after taking a bite and realizing it was not asada. He stated that the cook must have not told him they ran out of asada. He asked me if it was OK and I said for today, it's fine but next time I'll be getting asada. I understand running out of a popular option such as asada on the weekend. My issue is the lack of communication that asada had run out and then having the alternative meat option chosen for me without my approval. 2. The prices are off!!! There are about $0.30 extra cents added to everything but the menu doesn't include that exact price. Be aware of this!!! Check your receipts!!! For example, the agua Fresca says $7 on the menu but my receipt says $7.28 prior* to taxes. For large orders or big groups this could add up to several dollars so be aware. 2 starts for tasty food and nice ambiance, clean tables/inside area. I will most likely come back to dine in since the actual food is delicious. read more

I wanted to share feedback about my recent experience at your restaurant. When placing my order, I specifically requested no onion and no cilantro, and asked if it would be possible to add avocado. The employee confirmed that it was, and proceeded to charge me for guacamole. I clarified that I was asking for avocado, not guacamole, and was again assured that was fine. Upon receiving my order, there were no avocados included. When I returned to address the issue, the employee handed me a side of guacamole. I explained that this was not what I had ordered, and was then told that the restaurant does not have fresh avocados and that "all customers should know" the avocado includes onion and cilantro. This was never communicated to me at the time of ordering, despite my clear request for no onion or cilantro. The situation escalated when the employee became verbally aggressive, using inappropriate language and insisting there was nothing that could be done since I had paid by card. I respectfully request that staff receive training on the difference between avocado and guacamole, and the importance of listening carefully to customer requests, especially regarding allergies or ingredient preferences. Clear communication from the beginning could prevent misunderstandings like this in the future. read more

Food tasted pretty good even though the different meats I tried were dry, and there were a few problems that brought what I thought would be a 4-star review in the afternoon down to a 1-star review at night. - Green salsa and pickled vegetables in the salsa bar tasted suspect, so I tossed them - Red salsa from the salsa bar was forgettable and also got tossed - A few minutes after finishing my food, my gut told me something was wrong. A few hours later, the food poisoning made its presence known I've eaten a lot of street food in third-world countries, and it never made me sick - just strengthened my gut. That means something has to be very bad for me to actually get sick from it. If you still plan on going here, you may want to test things out with a small order first, and if you feel ok an hour later, it may be safe to go back. read more
