I had been hesitant to order from this restaurant in the first place, but decided to give it a chance, and unfortunately every item I received was either inedible or raised significant concerns about sanitation and food handling. I had a very concerning experience with my order and would like to request a full refund if possible. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and unfortunately, the entire experience raised serious concerns about food quality, cleanliness, and possible cross-contamination. I ordered a quesadilla, and from the first bite, something seemed seriously wrong. The tortilla and filling had an overwhelming burnt, extremely charcoal-like aftertaste that made the food taste as though it had been prepared on an extremely dirty or poorly maintained cooking surface. This was not simply a matter of the food being slightly overcooked or having a burnt grill taste the taste was unsanitary and unpleasant. The meat was also excessively fatty and of such poor grade quality that I could barely tolerate the texture or taste. I am generally not someone who complains about meat quality, but the combination of the questionable meat and the strong, dirty taste of the cooking surface made the quesadilla completely inedible. Now here's the more upsetting part: I also ordered two carne asada tacos, but instead received three tacos, including one containing what appeared to be pork intestines or another type of miscellaneous meat that I absolutely did not order. I do not eat pork, and the texture of this meat was slimy and the smell of it was extremely unpleasant. More concerningly, the meat appeared to have come into contact with the carne asada tacos as well. I unfortunately did not inspect the order before taking a bite, so I accidentally bit into the taco containing the unidentified meat. I was immediately nauseated and genuinely felt like I was going to vomit. I attempted to eat the carne asada tacos afterward, but I could taste what appeared to be the same miscellaneous meat mixed into them. I noticed that the tortillas themselves had the same strong burnt, charcoal-like flavor as the quesadilla, which further contributed to my concerns about the cleanliness and condition of the cooking surface. Because the unidentified meat appeared to have contaminated or mixed with the food I actually ordered, I ultimately could not eat any of the tacos. The horchata was another major concern. It had an unusually unpleasant taste that I have never experienced from horchata before. It tasted stale and potentially contaminated, almost as though something unsanitary had come into contact with it. I cannot say exactly what caused the taste, but it was sufficiently abnormal that I did not feel comfortable drinking it. Ultimately, I ate only approximately one bite of the quesadilla and a single bite of each type of taco before throwing the food away. Shortly afterward, my stomach was already growling and I felt extremely uncomfortable. This was not simply a matter of the food not matching my personal taste. I am concerned about the apparent lack of cleanliness, the burnt/dirty taste throughout the food, the unidentified meat being included in an order where it was not requested, and the apparent cross-contact between that meat and the carne asada I ordered. I would strongly encourage the restaurant to review its food-preparation, cooking-surface sanitation, ingredient handling, and order-assembly procedures. I am pretty upset that I ate something I didn't order and have no idea what it is. Given that I was unable to safely or reasonably consume essentially any of my order, I would appreciate a full refund. read more

Tacos Tres Reyes was our destination for late night tacos on a Monday night. Pulling up into their parking lot I thought they were a restaurant however I was totally mistaken. This location is a taco truck with plenty of outdoor seating. It's nice that the seating is covered with a tent style covering so you don't get the cold and wind from the cars passing by. Love these tacos! They're so affordable too - about $3 each. They operate out of a truck but there's a tent with seating. There's also plenty of parking since they're on a lot. Cash and cards are accepted! Tacos come out quick and you get a mild green salsa or a spicy orange salsa. They also have grilled onions and chiles. They always have agua frescas too. There's a small parking lot shared with the neighboring cafe to park at. Some of the most deeply flavored meat on a taco you can get. They put out a tent and tables for customers, which is nice but I took my food to go. My daughter got carne asada taco with cilantro only. The flavor was basic. I ordered 1 lengua, 1 cabeza, 1 birria with cheese and 1 carnitas. They came with grilled onions which was a nice added flavor. First lengua taco: was ok but lacked flavor. I used the green salsa to fix it up. Second cabeza taco: I liked the flavor of this one. Third carnitas taco: basic carnitas taco, again fixed it up with green salsa. Last but not least the birria taco. This was my favorite the flavor was good and the cheese made it even better. When I looked at my receipt I was surprise all the tacos were a different cost. I'm not surprised some cost more than others but the cost was all different and there was a 4% surcharge. Not sure if that's on all orders or because I used my card. I think its been a must for me to search for the best tacos whenever I go on small trips . I received a ton of recommendations from locals, but this one seemed to look the best . upon arrival, i noticed how jam packed the entire parking lot was. Thats usually a good sign. the line for tacos werent too bad, and they make your food really quick, leaving a very little to no wait time. I can honestly say that the food smelled waaay better than it tasted. The asada was soo bland, the pastor had a weird taste to them, and the chicharones was way too undercooked for my liking. When you cruise Monterey Rd at night, you'll notice something consistent. No besides the homeless pushing their Target shopping cart. I'm talking about taco trucks. Besides Tacomania, you'll see their fiercest competitor--Los Tres Reyes. Here you can pick up street tacos for under $2 each (at the time of this review anyways). You have your choice of meats but my fave is prob the El Pastor still. They have jugs of salsas from non-spicy to better-get-your-Tucks-pads ready spicy. Try them all but be sure to ask for your cups when you place your order or you'll have to poke your head back in the window and ask. If your idea of "mexican" food is Taco Bell, go down to the next light and you'll see it right past Old Tully but if you want some authentic street tacos then check this place out. A great place to chow down after stopping by Cafe Paradise since they're in the same lot. read more
