Super yummy burrito and quesadilla! And salsas are delicious which is a cherry on top. Burrito with half asada and al pastor with no beans 9/10 this was super delicious, I'm so glad I got half al pastor it was crispy and flavorful. Their Mexican rice was one of the better ones I've had, included tons of spices and really made the burrito pack a punch Quesadilla with half asada and half al pastor 9.5/10 they really load it up with their quesadilla, I got 4 big pieces and paired with their avocado and orange sauce makes it soooo yummy. Can't forget their onions! It comes with each dish and it's a must to eat I with your meal Both came out to total ~$30. I really love the avocado and orange sauce, one of the better salsas I've had from a taco truck, can't wait to come back and try other items!

I came across a reddit post about the best tacos in the bay area, so my friends and I set out to taco hop. For our first taco hop, we visited Tacos Chencho, Tacos Montero, and Tacos Los Tres Reyes. Of the tacos we've tried, Chencho was our favoriteeee by far. The al pastor was perfectly marinated, which paired well with the bits of pineapple. I appreciated that they put some grilled onions on our plate. I enjoyed their sauce bar, too. The only thing is that parking wasn't great, BUT I did discover they have a second location on Alum Rock which does have parking! So next time, I will be going to that location :)

Taco stand in SJ. Found just randomly driving and saw a busy line in front of it. They have a heater and some tables to sit near their stall. Cash or Zelle payments only. We got tacos and a gringa. Each taco came out to around $3.20 for one and the gringa was $10.79. The horchata was $5.49. The tacos were pretty loaded with meat, onions, and cilantro. They also throw in some grilled onions on the side. Tasty protein and flavorful. They have a salsa bar with different types of salsa. The horchata had a strong condensed milk flavor. Solid taco spot but a bit pricey compared to LA street tacos.

This place has multiple trucks. The one local to me is on bascom near San Carlos and let me just say that they are the real deal! Great flavor on their asada and they give you fresh sautéed onions and limes w each order. Their red salsa is some of the best in San Jose (trust me I get around ) and so are their Al pastor tacos! I'd argue that the al pastor is some of the best in all of the South Bay! Crazy take I know! Service is good although they only speak a little English and they only accept cash/zelle (all signs of a good truck lol). Location is not the best, located in a tire shop parking lot w limited seating bt the food is 100% worth it. Favorite taco spot RN!

Really solid mexican food spot. Large portion sizes. There is a small lot next to the truck. Chairs and a cover next to the truck if you want to eat outside by the truck. The onions they give you on the side are super good and delicious. They have a wide variety of cuts of meat like brisket, cheek, etc. The al pastor burrito was huge and really good. Super flavorful. You can pick your own salsas that you want from the bar. The horchata was delicious as well. They only take cash or zelle. Would come back again.

The cabeza and lengua tacos were solid. The carne asada has a nice smoky grill flavor, however, it had a strong lighter fluid taste. The saduero was also nice, however, it was a bit dry. Sauces are self serve. Cash only. Outdoor seating only. Parking is limited.

My favorite place to get tacos from! Their pastor meat is well maintained and tender. Comes with pineapple, which pairs so well with the pastor taco. Generous portions too!

I drive by this taco truck all the time when I'm heading home. I finally bit the bullet this taco Tuesday. I had the lengua taco, suadero taco, and a gringa. The gringa really blew me away. I love pineapple so more pineapple on my pastor taco? Hell yeah brother. The lengua and suadero tacos were also great. Their salsa bar was the real MVP, I enjoyed the orange and light green salsa. I gotta try their escabeche next time. They do have some tables to eat at, parking can be a little tricky, but you can always park across the street or temporarily in the neighborhood then walk over. CASH ONLY. But they do have a venmo for payment too. Service was fab and im glad this taco truck is close to me for those late night eat moods!

    Nhat T.

got the cabeza and al pastor tacos for about $3 each. The cabeza was really tender and delicious. Al pastor wasn't my favorite, would come back again to try all the other meats. Friendly and quick service! I got the horchata as well but the line was super long but they were able to get me to just pay really quickly in front since drinks were at a side booth.

    Alicia V.

What's amazing about Tacos Chencho you ask? It's their crispy tripa tacos and suadero tacos! They are amazing! The sauté them with big pieces of onion and get the meat extra crispy. They also have a location by James Lick HS. The staff is super friendly!

Taco al pastor, taco chicken pollo, gringa
    Ashish K.

Really well seasoned tacos, on the spicier side. The salsas are great too. The pineapple pork combo in gringa was really good. I would go back again, they are pricey for a food truck place but the taste is guaranteed. For a non Spanish speaker it wasn't easy to order but I dint mind, just had to make sure they don't serve me steak.

    Brisket quesadilla
    Gina O.

Long overdue, but this is probably one of my favorite food trucks! They prepare and get orders out quickly and efficiently, and the quality is always on point. I ordered their quesadilla with brisket, and it was absolutely delicious! It was also larger than I expected--I could barely finish half, so I saved the other half for the next day. (Side note: if you air fry it, it tastes just as good!) And the best part is the food is reasonably priced. They have semi-outdoor seating and tables available, and there's a sauce bar where you can ask for containers to go upon request. Heads up they prefer cash*

Lots of take out orders and dine in orders. I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. I plan to come back here to try their burritos and tortas as well next time.

We ordered 2x Carne Asada Taco 7/10 2x Al Pastor 7/10 Asada Burrito Bowl 7/10 Enchiladas with Rojo Sauce 7/10 The burrito bowl was good, but for the price point you may be better off going to Chipotle, I felt that the burrito bowl was a bit soggy. The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

Most of the food is prepared in a food truck where you line up and order. Seating is next to the sauce bar and they have first come first serve seating. Typical culture is to put the sauce directly on the tacos when you receive them. They give sauce cups if you order to go otherwise they are reluctant to give them out. Currently they are constructing a building around their seating area which is new. This implies that they are generating enough cash to turn their food truck and seating area into an actual establishment. Onto the food review! Carne Asada 7/10 Lengua 7.5/10 Carnitas 8/10 Cabeza 8.3 /10 Suadero 8.5/10 Al Pastor 8.5/10 Suadero and Pastor were top contenders with the most flavor depth. Personally I liked the cabeza as it was very soft, but the flavor can't compare to the suadero. The carne asada lacked flavor in my opinion and was the least tasty out of the meats we tried. Carnitas had that great crunch you're looking for in a taco as it is seared excellently. Lengua was flavorful and super soft just like the cabeza which indicates that they were both braised to perfection. All choices are very solid albeit be prepared for a very greasy meal. The star of the show is their avocado salsa! They offered 6 other sauces in their sauce bar but the avocado salsa was superb compared to the others. This was the only option that had me coming back to sauce bar throughout my meal. They also offered pickled carrots, jalapeños, and onions at their sauce bar to help balance the flavors. Finally the best JD big back tip is to get the large strawberry horchata! It was so good we finished ours before even taking a picture of it! The flavor profile on that beverage is superb, imagine a creamy strawberry yakult that is the perfect option to balance greasy tacos. This is a hidden gem item as their strawberry horchata is significantly better than other restaurants version of it. They also offer other flavored horchata but the strawberry remains top tier.

That kind of reliability is more rare than it should be, and it's worth calling out. The tacos themselves are the main event. The Carne Asada, Suadero, and Al Pastor are all standouts, but the Al Pastor especially earns its spot. They serve it with pineapple, which is the way it's meant to be done and a detail that tells you they actually care about getting it right. These are easily some of the best tacos in San Jose, and I don't say that lightly given how much competition there is in the South Bay. But the drinks alone might be worth the trip. Their Horchata and Agua Fresca are genuinely among the best I've had anywhere in the Bay Area and that's a real statement in a region with no shortage of excellent options. The salsa bar is a nice bonus: a self-serve setup where you scoop what you want into containers, and they send you off with baggies of fresh cilantro and onion so you can finish the tacos exactly how you like them. Yay for mom and pop eats :) Well, I was introduced to this place by my best friend, but I never carried cash to go, so I never tried it until another friend of mine mentioned the Blossom Hill location and them accepting credit card payment! (Yay, but let's not get carried away). I came on a Tuesday evening with friends and saw the place packed! Thats always a good sign~ We each ordered an individual dish to eat and chat. I was intrigued by the burrito bowl and worried it may be small. Jokes on me, it was way more than enough! Don't let the size of the bowl trick you into thinking it's not enough. The avocado was nice and perfectly ripe, the crema sauce drizzle was not overwhelmingly added onto the ball, and the salsa had a nice acid and tomatoey compliment to the beans, meat, shredded lettuce, rice, and cheese! I think this place is pretty solid for the price point and quality. They also have a free for all sauce bar too which is nice! Everything is so spicy, except for the green salsa lol. Servers seemed okay. They didn't really check on us, but it feels like a service yourself kind of place. You grab your own waters, condiments, and sauce here. If you want their chunky mango salsa, you have to flag a server down! However, 1 star is knocked off for the credit card charge, which I'm not even sure what the percentage is. I didn't see a sign at the register or perhaps I didn't look hard enough. I think this should be mentioned on the door and possibly their menu (if it isn't already). Can someone confirm if the credit card charge is 3%? Even my receipt wasn't clearly mentioning the percentage--just the fact that there's a credit card processing fee.
