al pastor in orange oil, soggy breakfast burrito, dry carne asada meat

We've been here a handful of times in the past and it was always good, but today's experience has changed that. Today, we ordered a burrito al pastor (no pico de gallo), a breakfast burrito (no fries), and three carne asada tacos (with onion and cilantro on the side). The entire order came out wrong. The al pastor burrito arrived drenched in orange oil and with pico de gallo anyway, the breakfast burrito came with fries and was noticeably small, and the dry carne asada tacos arrived with no onions or cilantro on the side at all. It really seemed like the woman who took our order either didn't write it down or just didn't get it right. When I mentioned we'd asked for no fries on the breakfast burrito, the woman who took our order raised her voice at me and insisted I never said that. Being yelled at as a paying customer, over her own mistake, is completely unacceptable. There may have been a language barrier that caused the mix-up, but that doesn't excuse the tone -- there was no apology or attempt to smooth things over, just a hostile, dismissive attitude and the staff talking amongst themselves afterward. A different, much nicer employee eventually stepped in, checked with the kitchen, and offered to remake just the breakfast burrito. At that point, we'd lost confidence in the food and the whole order went in the trash. Unfortunately, after this experience, we won't be returning. Go to Tlaqapaque or Chispiro's instead.

OMG! Tacos El Compa Taqueria is on the list of our favorite taquerias. My son and I stopped by for lunch while running errands. It's a small place where you walk up to order, and they bring the food to your table. It's a very relaxed vibe, and the service was fast and friendly. We ordered the carne asada taco plate and two El Jefe Tacos (pastor and carne asada). Both dishes were generous portions deliciously seasoned proteins with fresh veggies (onions, avocado and pico). AND amazing fresh HOMEMADE TORTILLAS!!! I need to specifically call out how good the El Jefe Tacos are. They have melted cheese between two cheesy crusted homemade tortillas (see crispy cheese crust in pics), cilantro, avocado, pico de gallo and sour cream. We are definitely coming back soon for more El Jefes and homemade tortillas.

Came here for lunch after reading the great reviews! It was packed and all the tables were filled. Kind of small establishment and the set up reminds me of a narrow hallway. We ordered 2x Carne Asada Taco 7/10 2x Al Pastor 7/10 Asada Burrito Bowl 7/10 Enchiladas with Rojo Sauce 7/10 The burrito bowl was good, but for the price point you may be better off going to Chipotle, I felt that the burrito bowl was a bit soggy. The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

We came here on a Friday and it was super busy. We were lucky to snag a table. We ordered paid and then sat down and waited for our food. The service was fast and friendly, and she brought hot sauce to our table from the fridge in the back once our food arrived. They have interesting items on the menu, including a Cheeto taco. We got the Vampiro taco, a regular sopes, ands a huarache. The restaurant is pretty small and it lacked appearance however, the food made up for it.

Yummy street tacos! Came here because Cali Spartan closed their venue for a wedding but I'm so glad I did. Their tortillas are made to order and you can really taste the difference. They also give you a good portion of carne asada! Expect a wait on weekends. The shop is small so we came around 645pm and got our food around 7:15. My partner got the quesabirria which he said was good. Didn't try the burrito but saw someone next to me with one and they are HUGE. Would be back for sure for the tacos! No bathroom and the hand wash sink was broken when we came fyi

came here for a quick weekend lunch and it was excellent! i opted for the carne asada torta and it was HUGE and delicious!! carne was tender and sandwich had a great ratio of fillings. i also got a michelada and beer and both were great, the michelada was refreshing and perfect for a summer day! there's some indoor seating but can get busy, interior was very simple and plain but service was friendly and quick. would def recommend for a quick meal :)

    Green enchiladas. So tasty!

Our new favorite local Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious. Some of the best red and green enchiladas I've ever had. My husband loves the birria tacos and our kids are big fans of the chicken tacos. We have come to love this quaint "hole in the wall" spot. I will say the ambience is actually completely fine when we just want a quick place to dine with the kids... There is not a lot of space, but we usually can score a table which is all that really matters. ;) The staff is very friendly and welcoming which is a nice touch these days. Tip: glab a leftover box when ordering if you think you will need because the staff gets busy and usually a line generates while eating making it hard to get one. The same goes for getting a water cup if you need one. Thank you for the delicious food TEC. Great food and service.

Had this doordashed and it was pretty solid for takeout! My favorite was the enchilada by far, which even after two days was nice and flavorful. Pretty small though. The taco was good but nothing crazy. I did enjoy the quesabirria, but it wasn't the best I've had. This one was super crispy which I liked, but definitely in the salty side and the meat wasn't that juicy. I forgot the prices but I remember them being pretty reasonable if not average. I didn't go there in person so I can't say anything about service or ambience.

We came here on a Friday evening, and there was a decent crowd with people waiting, so keep that in mind if you're expecting fast service. This definitely isn't the place to go if you're in a rush. Our first order took about 45 minutes, which was understandable since it was a busy Friday night and we weren't in a hurry. We ended up placing a second order for super tacos, which added another 25-30 minutes of waiting on top of the initial wait. For food, we ordered regular al pastor tacos, nacho fries, and a burrito. The tacos were okay overall, but the meat was a bit too charred for my taste. The nacho fries were actually my favorite, they were good and very cheesy. If you're not a big cheese person, I'd recommend asking for less, because it can get a little heavy. The burrito was fine, nothing bad but nothing that stood out. The sauces were decent, though personally I prefer the sauce at Spartans. Overall, it's a solid spot if you have time to wait and aren't in a rush, but just be prepared for longer wait times during busy hours.

Totally came here due to the reviews; 1,000+ and above 4 stars on two platforms, you got me there! If you are in a hurry, DO NOT COME HERE!!! I cannot and do not want to imagine what a weekend service is like. I was in a hurry which led to being stuck in local traffic for 40 minutes... terrible mistake. I simply ordered my typical (at any Mexican establishment) of regular burrito con pastor. Took 28 minutes. I was #75 and they were at #72... (with 2 deliveries in between). They only provide 2 salsas per burrito with extras as 35 cents each. Brownie points for extremely friendly service and authenticity. However, I cannot get past just how oily the burrito was. It was filled with oil and more pineapples plus pico than meat and rice. The rice was strange as well. It wasn't the typical Spanish rice you get but instead a plumper less flavorful grain. I could only consume half as I felt so bloated. Located within a plaza that's currently under construction so beware the signs aren't that obvious and explicit. Lots of parking for you to pick from.

Clean, little store. Seats about 20 inside. Friendly service. Does a lot of takeout/pickup, so even if there's not many people there, you may be waiting. Ask if there are many ahead of you if you're in a hurry. Got the Al Pastor in a burrito and it didn't disappoint. The flavor was very good and wasn't hidden by the other fillings. I would try the tacos next. I'll be back. Great find.

    Huarache, super delicious 10/10

We love this taqueria! It's a hole-in-the-wall place, best for a quick bite or to-go. It gets kind of cramped in there, small eating area inside with about 6-7 tables. We come back because the food is always a hit. We come specifically for the fried quesadillas and huaraches. I love their carne asada, it has a good flavor and is perfectly charred. The ingredients are consistently fresh. The service is quick and friendly. You order and they bring the food out to you. We came on a whim one day after Halloween shopping at Spirit and after finding out deep fried quesadillas are a thing here, we never looked back. So happy to have found this place !

Just found my new top taqueria. The place is small and well known, seeing the many people coming and going. We got tacos birria. They were delicious! I want to try their other items too, so I'll be back real soon.

Are the beans vegan, or do they have lard in them, and which other vegan options do you have, is the rice vegan and made without chicken broth?

This is a very traditional spot. 99% sure that nothing is Vegan.

My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.
