I came here on weekday evening to grab some dinner. Heard of this place from Reddit, it does feel like a hole in the wall, but it was pretty busy. Lots of take out orders and dine in orders. I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. The service was fast and friendly, and she brought hot sauce to our table from the fridge in the back once our food arrived. They have interesting items on the menu, including a Cheeto taco. Yummy street tacos! Came here because Cali Spartan closed their venue for a wedding but I'm so glad I did. Their tortillas are made to order and you can really taste the difference. Our new favorite local Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious. Some of the best red and green enchiladas I've ever had. My husband loves the birria tacos and our kids are big fans of the chicken tacos. We have come to love this quaint "hole in the wall" spot. I will say the ambience is actually completely fine when we just want a quick place to dine with the kids... There is not a lot of space, but we usually can score a table which is all that really matters. ;) The staff is very friendly and welcoming which is a nice touch these days. Tip: glab a leftover box when ordering if you think you will need because the staff gets busy and usually a line generates while eating making it hard to get one. They only provide 2 salsas per burrito with extras as 35 cents each. Brownie points for extremely friendly service and authenticity. However, I cannot get past just how oily the burrito was. It was filled with oil and more pineapples plus pico than meat and rice. The rice was strange as well. It wasn't the typical Spanish rice you get but instead a plumper less flavorful grain. I could only consume half as I felt so bloated. Located within a plaza that's currently under construction so beware the signs aren't that obvious and explicit. We love this taqueria! It's a hole-in-the-wall place, best for a quick bite or to-go. It gets kind of cramped in there, small eating area inside with about 6-7 tables. We come back because the food is always a hit. We come specifically for the fried quesadillas and huaraches. I love their carne asada, it has a good flavor and is perfectly charred. The ingredients are consistently fresh. The service is quick and friendly. You order and they bring the food out to you. But the surprising hit was the California burrito and the quesadilla, which came with an extra crisp tortilla that tasted either homemade or, at the very least, very high quality. You order at the counter and take a seat and wait for them to bring you your food. I ordered the El Jefe and a separate taco. We also ordered chips and guac. The El Jefe was massive.... I was not expecting it. It was 2 tortillas with cheese and meat, and a bunch of toppings on it. It was way too much for me to finish. One thing I did notice are the tortillas are quite thick, I believe it is because they are handmade, so consider that before coming here. I first tried this restaurant's taco truck in Fremont and the tacos were incredible. The owner told me their original location was in San Jose, so I made the drive there expecting the same experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close. I ordered several tacos to go, and while the fillings were good, the handmade tortillas tasted stale, almost like they had been made the day before. Usually when we get flautas, they load up all the toppings on them so it ends up being soggy but they separated everything into containers so that we can add them on as we want. I decided to try their Quesabirria tacos which can be ordered by itself or paired with consommé. Because they make it fresh to order it took -10min to make which was worth the wait. Unfortunately no complimentary chips or salsa offered. The tacos and consommé came out piping hot with authentic flavor and the tacos were packed with tender shredded beef, cilantro and onions. I paid $60 for a torta, quesadilla and nachos. The torta was their special Torta Cubana. It was super loaded with eggs, chorizo, beans, avocado, sausage, ham and steak. But nothing was working well together and it seem like a torta with everything in it but nothing worth going back for a bite. The quesadilla was okay and needed more cheese and the nachos were okay. I would not come back as the food prices are high and the food is nothing special and the flavors are not good. They are always pretty busy but have lots of employees in the kitchen who properly prepare your order. Inside is quite small so you might find yourself waiting for a table. There is no outside tables which means it isn't pet-friendly. They have lots of vegetarian options. The whole beans don't have lard and when I asked they said no chicken broth in the rice.
