Carne asada nachos
Christina S.

Whenever I'm craving nachos, this is my go to place. We always use the drive thru for convenience. I haven't tried anything else off their menu except this. Fully loaded carne asada nachos and the melted cheese makes it so good. Prices are reasonable. Service is quick even with the long drive thru lines they have most of the time.

Burrito full of rice only!

I literally never leave reviews but am extremely disappointed in the food ! Second and last time getting a burrito here . Asada burrito with NOTHING BUT RICE ! Full of rice , I maybe had three slivers of burnt meat ! I had the same situation last time , so this time I PAID EXTRA FOR EXTRA MEAT. !!!!! And this is the garbage I get ! Only order a burrito from here if you don't like meat !

This was the late night go to spot in the East Side for burritos for me and my friends back in the day. Glad I was able to come back recently to revisit one of my favorite Mexican spots growing up. We arrived for an early Friday dinner. The restaurant is located in an older plaza off King and Story road close to Rancho Del Pueblo Golf Course. Parking is accessible in the small parking lot. Jalisco Taqueria looks like they got a nice exterior renovation. Unfortunately we didn't order inside but instead ordered from the convenient drive thru. We ordered a large supreme carnitas burrito with everything except no beans and a carnitas taco with everything. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My burrito tastes just like what I remembered what it last tasted like, so delicious, juicy, and fulfilling. The meat was flavorful and tender. The sour cream, avocado, cilantro, and rice all went very well together with the meat. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Jalisco Taqueria. This restaurant brought back nostalgia and great memories. Glad I was able to come back again. My son has golf classes next door at Rancho so we will definitely be back.

Carne Asada Burrito

I haven't had Jalisco's in years and was a little nervous because of some of the reviews but I can't lie it's still fire. Had a carne asada burrito with everything. Nice seasoning on the carne asada in the burrito and the perfect balance of ingredients. I got the red salsa which was good but I didn't need much. Also had the al pastor tacos which were also very good and flavorful they know how to season lol. Lots of cilantro and pineapple but I'm not complaining. Long line in the drive thru but it moved fast. You can dine in as well but I've never been inside. I did see people dining in, it looked like a standard taqueria vibe nothing fancy. I think the best part of Jalisco is that it's one of only a few drive thru taquerias in San Jose.

I was in the mood for Mexican food after one of my favorite spots was closed, so we decided to give this place a try after years of not coming here. Let me just say, I definitely won't be coming back. The food was whatever, honestly nothing exciting, just bland and lacking flavor. I ordered the al pastor fries and was really disappointed the al pastor itself just wasn't good. I also got a carne asada sope, which ended up being the highlight of the meal. The meat was a bit dry, but overall it was pretty decent. We also tried the carnitas sope, which was pretty good, but the asada tacos were bland and way overcooked. On the positive side, the service was great shoutout to the guy taking our order, super friendly and chill. We dined in, but the place looks very old and kind of dirty. Overall, based on my preferences and taste, this isn't a spot I'll be returning to.

Al Pastor Tacos

I love these tacos! I ordered the Al Pastor tacos and they came with mangoes, which is a nice & sweet addition! There are some benches inside the restaurant where you can sit & eat. You order with the cashier in the front in the service was around 10-15 minutes.

Supreme Asada Burrito

Considered to be a staple to many, this particular taqueria has a a drive-thru which helps the flow of traffic. Our go to order for the most part is a carne asada supreme burrito & Carne asada tacos. There's times when we've gone && the food is absolutely delicious && then there's times where it's flat. Service is mediocre even when ordering through the drive-tru! All in all a great option for those late night cravings!

Torta

We've been here many times. Food is great. Until tonight. Something must have happened recently that negatively affected their food quality. Here is the torta that i ordered. It came with one small slice of tomato and one piece of avocado. The bread was old as well.

burrito supreme con carne asada

hands down the best burrito spot in san jose, the meat is juicy and tender unlike many taquerias where they have dry and flavorless carne asada. this place doesn't have the best salsa or tacos but their burritos are top tier, without a doubt my only place to go to for a bomb burrito

I would suggest that the serve mention that when taking orders so we know. Just because it's at the very bottom of the menu I didn't notice it until I asked for a dessert menu. The food was so good! We had Mexican jambalaya, Carne asada plate, tacos Dorado, enchiladas with both sauces, parillada, enfrioladas (bean enchiladas) tacos de pescado, Don julio flight, multiple drinks and churros. The churros were really good although we wish there was a non filled ones too and to have the optionof if we wanted it dressed up because churros are already super sweet with the cinnamonand sugar dusted but caramel and whip cream was added along with a strawberry filling. We also ordered a tres leches cake but we didn't like the tres leches cake, it was too sweet, so sweet that we couldn't taste the filling which we assume was pineapple lol the color was yellow with pieces of fruit but we couldn't taste it. Overall the service was great and quick. I would definitely come back here.

Plenty of parking available since the restaurant is in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but then it started picking up. There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

Our server was Sebastian & he was super friendly, attentive & recommended us the goods. My favorite here was their enchiladas - red & stuffed with chicken tinga. It also came with a side of rice & beans. The pickled red onions that came on top was delicious as well. My daughter even loved it & she's super picky about her onions. Drinks were good, the michelada with the shrimps - fire. Paloma - not that strong for the price you pay, but it was still alright. Guacamole - my kids loved Sebastian recommended us the coffee to-go, super flavorful Overall good vibes, great service, good food Will recommend.

We waited 1.5 hours to be seated while half the restaurant sat empty. After we were seated, it took about 30 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks, another 30 minutes before our order was taken, and then an hour for the food to arrive. Throughout the wait, several servers were gathered in the corner talking and laughing while tables--including ours--were left unattended. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the service. The meat was dry, lacked flavor, and the shrimp was so chewy that I couldn't finish it. It was honestly one of the worst shrimp dishes I've ever been served. I've seen countless influencers giving this place glowing reviews, and after eating here, I simply don't believe them. My experience was the complete opposite. If you appreciate good food and good service, I would strongly recommend spending your money somewhere else.

FOOD: Food is usually great. I remember them being better when they first opened, but maybe today was an off day? CHIPS & GUAC (4/5) - Chips came out hot and glistening, so I assume they are freshly made. The guacamole was good, but it lacked depth. It was creamy, not spicy, and salsa costs extra. I personally like it without salsa, but I can see this turning people off. LAMB QUESABIRRIA (3.7/5) - Consommé felt a little flat. I personally have had better consommé tbat was richer in flavor. It came out piping hot. Overall, it was good but given the price and flavor I wouldn't get it again. COD TACOS (4/5) - Again, portions are on the smaller side. The cod is small, and I couldn't really taste the salsa too much, but the fish tasted great and was nice and crispy. HOUSE LEMONADE (5/5) - Refreshing and sour :) SERVICE: They could probably use another waiter/waitress. Friendly and helpful, but it's a little slow. Overall I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, but I'll stick to ordering takeout or coming here for the bar only.

James was our server at our most recent visit; he's got the competition (even compared to significantly pricier upscale restaurants) completely beat. Very attentive, especially to our two new-to-Luna companions. Very personable. Kept a constant, warm, presence with us. Good suggestions. So far the best server we've experienced there, and that's a very high bar to exceed. Thank you, James! If you're in the Pruneyard area, by the way, the Luna there is quite good, but we prefer the Alameda/San Jose location. Somehow the dishes have a bit more "pop" (and seem to come from the kitchen faster, too). More experienced service. And the Pruneyard location is a little too big.

The tacos were generously filled, the tortillas were delicious, and the aguas frescas were refreshing. There was a small mix-up with our order at first. Our waitress accidentally thought we had only ordered six tacos instead of twelve, so we initially received six tacos, one side of rice and beans, and were still waiting on our drinks. When she came by and noticed one of us wasn't eating, she asked if we were waiting on anything. We explained that we were still supposed to receive six more tacos, another side of rice and beans, and our drinks. She apologized, brought our drinks over right away, and the rest of our food came out quickly. Even with the mix-up, everything was handled professionally, and we appreciated how quickly she fixed it. We originally sat outside, but decided to move inside because of the bugs. The inside of the restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had a welcoming atmosphere. Since it was the Fourth of July, it wasn't busy, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The salsa bar was being prepped, but our waitress gladly brought us fresh limes when we asked. Overall, the food was delicious, the service was friendly, and even though there was a small mistake with our order, it was corrected quickly without any issues. We'll definitely be back!
