My family which consists of my wife and I, and three kids (12, 5, and 3 years of age) went on a Sunday after church and the place was pretty busy. We had to wait 10 minutes to get a booth which wasn't bad, and it took about 20 minutes to get our food. The only real complaint I have was that it took a while to get our chips and salsa and even longer to get a refill. We were all hungry and with the kids, having more chips and salsa would have been nice. Maybe next time for a party of our size or larger bring out two orders of chips and salsa the first time. We will be back, however would like to see some improvements by then! I will get more photos of the food and menu next time we go for a visit. We love shopping and supporting local businesses! They served them with fresh soft tortillas so I was able to assemble 3 tacos with fresh pork, guacamole (served on the platter), fresh tomatoes, and some of that house hot sauce. I also added a tamale on the side to see how they did those, and it was a larger tamale than expected but very good and slathered in red sauce AND queso. They checked on us often (but not overbearingly) and even provided freebies! The salads were LOADED with chicken, burgers were dressed, and corn nuggets were sweet and great. They even gave us extra condiments as we requested and napkins. Half of the fast food restaurants these days don't even get the order right, nor do they give napkins. This is a really good local restaurant that I have zero negative things to say about. We enjoy supporting local businesses and you will not be hungry after finishing your meal. They don't short you on anything. The food is filling and doesn't seem as processed and chalked full of chemicals like most of the fast food restaurants that run the monopoly's that they have. Sometimes it can be hard to find a good local restaurant but that is not the case with Burger Shack. Yes, I asked how they make they're shakes and I was told they come in a bag, are lactose free, and they just add water! These are not shakes. We had the bacon cheese burgers and could not finish it. No, I wasn't full, but it was absolutely the worst and flatest hamburger I've ever had. Ditto my wife. If the meat is real they need to change vendors. The lettuce was limp and soggy, the buns were not properly cooked, and there was no delineation in tastes. It was just nasty. They had no air conditioning, which I admit could have been a one-off, but they did have a large fan that made it difficult to hear the girl at the counter. My recommendation to management is to get quality ingredients, learn how to properly make a shake, and raise your prices accordingly. I would gladly pay twice what I did for quality food. Price is not the primary criterion.
