Starting this week, they just rolled out a $0.99 taco special pricing on both TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS! Valid on all meat tacos (except for tripa tacos, it is $2.25 regular price). All their tacos tastes great, and I still like their tripa the best so I'm good with paying the regular price. Even at regular price, it comparable to street vendor night stand tacos so their pricing is awesome. This place has slow service, takes 15-20 minutes to prepare your order (they have a sign stating it too) but they do grill your taco meat and orders AFTER you order them instead of having a tray of meat precooked and sitting there. I actually timed them the past couple of visits, and they do take 13 to 14 minutes to get my order ready. Don't know how long their special pricing will last. It was at $1.49 taco Tuesday special past weeks but now down to $0.99. I'll be passing by this place frequently for sure rather than spending hours cooking in the kitchen. read more

Love love this place , located in a huge plaza with other restaurants. , I come every weekend since I work near here ! I've tried everything from their posole, tortas, tacos , and burritos and everything has been fresh and delicious ! Definitely love the tortas Milanesa ! So good !! Local here! I always get my Tacos from Bukanas! It's Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) and they take phone, online and in person orders! The place is small and cozy. I always order through the phone for a party of more than 4 and my order is usually ready with in 20 mins! The meat is hot, fresh and juicy! And the tacos Gobernador Oozing with cheese and you have to dip it in the sauce they provide! The Tacos Al Pastor mmm delish! This establishment makes really good food. I have tried it before several times. My favorite is the tacos gobernadores. There melted shrimp onions, tomatoes, and cheese tacos with a little crust. And 4 gobernador tacos 60 dollars.... Which is fine they have always been fair with the portions... Tacos are good, but my problem is that they're way too small for what they charge. I ordered 4 tacos de asada al vapor and paid almost $9 for them. The tacos are ridiculously small and I finished them each in about 2-3 bites. I wouldn't order the tacos if you're very hungry because they are more of a snack rather than a meal and won't get you full whatsoever. Something else I didn't like was that the employee told me he could only give me 1 small salsa container for my 4 tacos. I don't see what's the problem with giving more out when they have huge trays of self-serve salsa for customers who dine in. So what's the issue with giving me more salsa? For the past month I've had lunch here at least once a week. In the past, I would come once or twice a year. As someone who works across the street, here is my case for why I'm here all the time... The chicken value menu: This is not what the menu is called but this is what it is named in my head. Value is a tough thing to quantify as costs have skyrocketed in the past year or two but for my money's worth, there is big value here. My go to is their market salad which is a great lunch sized salad that fills me up every time. The salad has onions, cilantro, pico, lettuce blend, and a chopped up chicken patty/cutlet with this orange sauce that has a nice kick to it. I am a fan. They also have a 3 DOLLAR chicken sandwich that is decent sized and comes with fries as well. That's some 1999 prices right there. The pro tip: Call your order in as food is made to order. It usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes for your order. I don't eat there in person and take my food to go but the ambiance is nice, clean and well lit to quote Hemingway. read more

Taco Tuesday and I am in the mood for chicken tacos. I ordered four chicken tacos @ .99 each and a large horchata. I am soooooo hungry and I am ready to eat so I take a seat and wait for my food with great anticipation. I wait five mins, ten mins, fifteen mins, twenty mins (are you serious!??), twenty five mins. I look at the female employee with THAT look of, " why are you doing this to me?" and she advises me that the food will be out in a minute. I say "ok" and wait another five-minutes. The female employee finally hollers out those magical words, "your order is ready " and I almost sprint to the counter to pick up my order. Out of my way everyone is what is on my mind when I realize that I am the only one in the restaurant. As I return to my table with my food, I start to think to myself, "that sure took a long time to receive my food. Thirty mins total from the time I placed my order was simply wayyyyy too long". This is Taco Tuesday, i am hungry and I am the only customer in the place besides two guys who are seated next me talking about a pending divorce and throwing out F-bomb's left and right. The tacos themselves were tasty as was the horchata but I don't think I'll be coming back here bcos of the outrageous wait time and the over 50 F-bombs from the two knuckleheads I had to endure waiting for my food. Las week I had two Al Pastor tacos to go, the meat were well seasoned but left too much sauce on the taco shell. Today, i decided to dine-in. I was craving some cheap and delicious food on a rainy night. At first I was headed to El Sazon De Las Gorditas but their truck was nowhere to be found. Then I tried Pepe's Red Tacos but they informed me they were out of meat. So I settled on El Bukanas. I ordered one of each of carne asada, al pastor, birria, and chicharron. The first three looked like typical street tacos, with the double layer tortilla, meat, chopped onions and cilantro. The chicharron taco was golden and folded up and topped with sliced onion and chopped cabbage. The meat was a bit lackluster, as I could not really detect much flavor from any of them (and I don't have COVID). The meat texture was good and soft without any chewy bits. The chicharron was kind of like ground meat, it was not at all what I was expecting. Kind of hard to say these are good compared to the ones I've gotten from Los California Tacos in Pasadena. They give you optional mild/hot salsas, with the mild one being a green salsa and the hot one is a habanero flavor. Overall I want to rate this higher but 3 stars is all I can give because I doubt I'll be back. read more

Wow! This little hole in the wall looks like a family owned business... So good. My dad was craving TACOS DE VAPOR. Went to a place in La Puente by his house and they didn't have them.Next closest EL BUKANAS. Had trips and carnita tacos as well as a wet carne asada burrito in green sauce. Disappointed. I've been coming here off and on for a couple of years, but yesterday was my last visit. My father and I ordered over $70 for 5 people (overpriced) went over to the salsa bar, no small cups, or containers or bags, ok so I went over to the kitchen and asked young girl with lip piercing if I can please get some onions. She said they're at the salsa bar and handed me a small plastic bag. I noticed they had 2 types of onions, pickled and grilled, so I asked for a second bag, she tells me DO NOT take them all. I thought she was joking, so I smiled, but she wasn't and actually rolled her eyes at me. Out of line and unprofessional. Who do they think they are, king taco? Relax. I have mixed feelings about this review. The service was great and the tacos are very tasty. It's just the meat was a little crispy. The reason being the fish and shrimp are freshly fried tacos the other meats were reheated. The sign says they are Vapor prepared tacos as far as I can tell mine were not and had a variety. It was still very good but they didn't have that just made fresh flavor. The host was very friendly and service was on point. The place seemed to have a steady flow of customers just not overwhelming busy. Would I try them again possibly. Came here because a friend recommended the 2 for $5 Fish Tacos. Mentioned they were better than Taco Nazo so I had to stop by. I wanted to try something else so I asked the lady, "burrito or torta?" She said, burritos are good but I'd recommend the Bukana Torta. Comes with carnitas, milanesa, ham, avocado, beans, tomato, and lettuce. It was a no brainer at that point. Customer service is excellent. Very polite and helpful. Spanish speakers. Social distance enforced. Only three tables to eat inside, others blocked off (small place). This was my first time at this location and I absolutely loved it. I've been to the other location multiple times but my friend and I decided to try this location because we were around the area. The workers at this location are sooo nice and friendly! They even have menudo on the weekends which we will have to come back for :-). Food comes out pretty fast.
