Chiapas #4 chorizo with black beans and green chicken tamale with rajas.

First time here and let me say it was the best decision. I havent had Mexican food that reminds me of home in a very long time . Small and quaint and clean , music playing, the service is awesome and they're busy but after experiencing it I can see why .

This place is such a whole in the wall but the food is so delicious. The fresh tortillas and the beans were not over salted. The potato taco was really crunchy and overall I would come back to try everything else on the menu. Support your small businesses!

I was a little skeptical of the 4.8-star Yelp rating, but I thought we'd give it a try for lunch. Well, my mind was changed...they deserve that rating and more! Super friendly staff and incredibly "Chiapas style" Mexican cuisine. Parking can be limited in this small, but busy shopping center. Our server brought to the table complimentary chips topped with their refried black beans which we devoured. I love beans, but black beans are probably my least favorite. Their black beans were the best I've ever had and could have eaten them all by themselves! For our meals, we tried the Bistec Ranchero ($16.99), Cochinita Pibil ($16.99), and the Picadillas Chiapanecas Rojo ($13.99) with carnitas. The beef and pork were super tender and very flavorful. All dishes came with refried black beans and rice. Their handmade corn tortillas are quite bigger than the average tortilla, making them really filling but, so good. We took an order of Empanadas ($13.99) to go, trying the pollo, res, and frijol (chicken, beef, and bean) selections. It came with cabbage, tomatoes, and salsas, however they were made with their corn tortillas, instead of a more traditional dough style. Finally, we finished off our meal with an order of Platano Frito Lechera ($6.99) which really tied it all together. It's not a fancy place, but it's clean and the food was incredible. I will most definitely be back to try a lot more of their extensive menu. I highly recommend you check them out if you're in the area.

Good local Mexican food. Very friendly service, typical. I don't have much more to say. I need more characters to post this review. There it is. Overall 8/10

Food was great!! Hard to find good WHITE menudo. Been here a few times and finally decided review it. All 3 times have been very impressive. My go to is the white menudo of course. I try to order something extra to taste every time I go. Asada nachos, excellent. Mole tamal, amazing Black beans and chips, authentic. The owner has been out server every time. He's friendly and remembers we start with their delicious cafe de olla while looking over the menu. I highly recommend this place if your looking for authentic homemade tasting food. Every dish has a fresh of the stove taste to it, all have been made to order.

Chiapas food looks and tastes mostly like Central American food and this is the main reason why me and my family stopped by one day to try them. It really does. But the menu variety and flavor profile tho similar, has its authentic taste. We loved every dish ordered. The owner and his wife run the place and they make an exceptional job in serving every patron with care and a smile. The place might look small but it has a very cozy feeling. Its the only authentic Chiapas style restaurant. A hidden gem if u ask me

Found this hole in the wall by my work bc I saw that they sold taco dorados. Then I came back and brought my coworker for lunch to try other foods. Loved how they give you black bean dip with the complimentary chips. Tacos dorados- 6 crunchy taquitos with cabbage topped with cheese and the house sauce was sooo good! Bistek Ranchero- meat was thin, tender and flavorful. It came with fresh homemade tortillas. Was perfect with the black beans, rice and guacamole. Quesadilla Chiapaneca- coworker ordered this and she said it tasted amazing with the homemade tortilla. Place has plenty of seating! And servers were very nice and accommodating.

A hidden gem! Everything we ordered was delicious, and authentically made. From the first plate of chips & black beans to the main dish. Every bite was perfect, nothing overly done, just simple & clean ingredients. Amazing & savory!

I was in the area and looking for breakfast. I came across this restaurant and knew I had to check it out. If you're into authentic Oaxacan cuisine, you'll love this small business. Our server was so kind and informative and the restaurant itself is clean and comfortable. Our server brought to the table complimentary chips topped with their refried black bean's which I devoured! For my meal, I ordered the Cochinita Pibil. The pork was super tender and braised in red sauce. It came with refried black beans and rice which I loved. You must order their handmade corn tortillas, they are quite bigger than the average tortilla but, I loved them. My mother ordered the Machaca plate which she absolutely loved. Their Cafe De Olla was also delicious and their Agua de Jamaica was perfect! I would definitely recommend checking this restaurant out if you're in the area.

Mole rojo everything we ordered was delicious! Great service too!

A+ great service - delicious food. Highly recommended! We ordered the red mole, taquitos and the meat quesadilla.

Chicken mole Chiapas #15- Mole Rojo

Nice and clean lunch spot. Owner/ waiter was very friendly and quick on the service. He explained the good choices and how they are different from other Mexican foods because they are made in the Chiapas style. I had the chicken mole and my sister had the asada quesadillas. Both were excellent. I brought home some tamales that my wife really enjoyed. We will be back.

This place is simple but food is delicious and not too salty, everything we ate is very delicious, different taste . Service wise, they are very accommodating. Well it's small business but convenient. A love everything we ate. You should try it

I came in for a late lunch so I was the only one in the restaurant so the service was pretty quick. The menu is full of those combination classics that you would see at certain Mexican restaurants. Now the food.... I had the Chon's Breakfast Comal. The chorizo was ok. Lacked quite a bit of flavor. Potatoes tasted kinda like they were boiled and then finished in a sauce, then plated. The bell peppers and onions were fantastic. A lot. But they were cooked well. Over easy eggs were decent, despite one of them being cooked all the way through. Comal was perfect temperature. But insanely greasy (which is expected from chorizo). Rice. Eh... Rice is rice. Wasn't bad. But was all "Oh my goodness this is amazing." Beans tasted like the refried Rosarita's can. Just topped with cheese. The salsa. It was pretty good. The 1st time. Until I found a hair. Then I was given a 2nd one. And when I decided to eat it, it was no good. It was starting to spoil. I realized this once I put it on a bite I was about to take and immediately put it in my food i was about to chew in my napkin. After about 15 minutes when my server finally came by, I told her of the situation. She said "I'll go check." Then disappeared. Someone else gave me the check, and then someone else brought the receipt. The initial server didn't pop up until I was getting up to walk out. So no manager interaction. No "we'll comp your coffee." Just a "Sorry you didn't like it." As I walked out. Ambiance is cool, but some table placement doesn't make sense. That needs to be addressed. Will I come back here? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm talking like 80 no /20 yea. So I guess we'll see.. So I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm sorry, but this is my opinion based on my 1st experience here. Maybe it'll be better. We'll see....
