Came here for lunch on a Friday with my wife and had a delicious meal. We ordered the three taco plate (2 carne asada, 1 al pastor) and the super nachos with carne asada. Food came out piping hot and the nacho chips were straight outta the fryer. Portions were perfect and the side of beans and rice that came with the taco combo were excellent. I also ordered a jamaica drink that was very refreshing and flavorful - not watered down like some other spots. Seating was limited indoors but there were only two other guests so not an issue. We wanted to try something new and had a bad experience. I order shrimp fajitas and tacos and shrimp tostada. The tostada had lemon, and needed some veggies. The shrimp fajitas were served on a regular plate as if I order a plate . Again no flavor whatsoever. The tacos were ok . Not to mention that we had to wait for the chef, he was on break.! Came to this little tiny spot in La Puente to try some delicious Mexican food. I was not disappointed by the food at all. They have a little bit of seating inside and a little bit of seating outside. Everything looked delicious on the menu. I had Huevos divorciados, absolutely amazing. I like that one egg had red sauce and the other had green sauce! it came with rice beans, and I like flour tortillas! Service was great, actually pretty fast and the food was super warm when it arrived. Nice little spot to check out. read more

They have plenty of parking. And it's a pretty small business. Not a lot of seats and not a great ambiance. Looks like a lot of people get pick up. They start to sell out of stuff, they had no Al pastor when I went at 12pm. And I've seen in other reviews missing stuff. I got a three tacos combo, very filling. Asada was better than Birria for me. Both seemed well made and fresh. They also ran out of avacado Salas which is the best salsa they have. No free chips and salsa. Would recommend for some good Mexican food if you are close by. read more

I just finished eating here. I come here every three weeks when I get a haircut at GQ cuts I try something different every time today I had the shrimp cocktail. It was amazing lots of shrimp and abalone and then I had the taquitos plate three beef taquitos they were the best taquitos I've ever had. I'm not kidding. You definitely need to make a stop here. This place is a small hidden gem! We came in looking for menudo and were amazed at how delicious it was. Our orders were taken right away, and the owner even brought complimentary coffee to every table such a sweet gesture. Fantastic - 5 stars! We love a "hole in the wall" place and the reviews were great so 5 of us met for a birthday gathering on the patio because of the dog. The owner, Ceaser was gracious, welcomed us and stopped to chat and offer recommendations. The menu was predominantly Mexican but comprehensive, check the menu on line! Food and service was delicious, hot and plentiful. The owner continued to check on us often, a nice sign of respect and caring. He and congratulated the birthday lady and allowed us to enjoy the patio. The restaurant is small, has a busy clientele inside and takeout. My family and I stopped at this little restaurant before heading to a party at the hall next door. Very happy with the service and the food. 4++ small little café / taqueria in Old Town La Puente. It has a mom and pop feel to the place and a pretty extensive menu. When I came in, it wasn't too busy, so I was able to order in sit right away. Not a lot of seating inside. The person I ordered from was friendly and helpful. I believe he prepared my food as well. I wanted a variety of things so I ordered shrimp taco, al pastor taco, and carne asada sope. I thought they did everything well here. Everything was flavorful, lots of toppings and fresh. I like the variety of salsas and lime I got with my food as well. Definitely a great casual spot to get some good Mexican food in the area. Definitely would come back. I'm not sure if it was just because it was the middle of the day, but parking was super easy to find as well. read more

Went early Sunday for the menudo, which is highly rated here on Yelp. This place is the proverbial hole in the wall...maybe 8 tables inside. And the verdict?...positive ratings for the menudo JUSTIFIED. The menudo is FULL of tripe. I did ask for no hominy and no pata. Taste was clean, good flavor (always add toppings/season to your taste), tripe was done just right (not too soft, not too chewy). There was actually more meat than broth! Choice of corn or flour tortillas was a plus, and I believe they were house made. Tripe has become expensive, but Alma Delia's doesn't disappoint. Will definitely come back again. read more

Good food. Shady business practice. Beware of their strategy of upselling and overcharging customers. Will say they run out of pozole or menudo. When the customer orders a different dish, they will say they have "a little bit" pozole/menudo left and will bring some out, but do it under the guise of being nice. What they dont tell you is they will charge you almost full price for the soup they didnt have and suddenly have "a little left"(that comes out as almost a full portion). So the bill will have whatever the price of the other entree you ordered bc they said they "ran out" of pozole, PLUS the price of the pozole they magically had "a little left" after you order something else. Sometimes will offer you some old pastries. That small pastry they so kindly offered will be like six dollars on the check. They have this strategy to sell more to the customer, but they hide their intentions with fake hospitality and dont tell you they will charge until you see the check. I have visited this establishment 3 times w my husband for their menudo and pozole. The last 2 times they pulled this bs on us. The third time i came I brought my tia and suegra here with my husband and was so disappointed the way they ripped us off. So what if they wake up at like 4am to make their soups? It generally takes that long to cook the meat anyway. Nothing special. Since then i have replicated their pozole recipe, and it is even better. Never coming here again. And btw, being a small business doesnt justify scamming your customers. read more

I was referred to Alma Delia's as having excellent tacos and burritos but every time I decided on going they closed earlier than other places so I never made it. Yesterday I had the opportunity to get over there to check it out. The place is tiny with six tables each allowing for four patrons to eat together. The menu is larger than the number of seats available but I only had an Al Pastor burrito on my mind and an Asada for my tacos. I ordered it to go, to eat elsewhere. The first couple of bites tasted okay but by the time I finished I had a tummy ache. My first meal of the day and a tummy ache doesn't go well together.
