The food was ok. The meat was good, and the beans were insane. The egg was pretty good as well. I didn't like the taste of the thing (idk what it was) under the meat. I will try this place again sometime hope for better.
I love a good Mexican breakfast and I heard this place was pretty good. The restaurant can be easily missed because I didn't see a sign out front however, they do have a small parking lot and you can enter the restaurant from there. We were greeted immediately by the nicest server ever! She was really really sweet and professional. She definitely came back a few times to ensure all was well which I appreciate. The restaurant itself is small but cute and cool inside. We ordered a few items and all were absolutely delicious. I noticed the chips were super fresh and the salsa was homemade and both salsas were delicious! I added salt because it needs just a little. I ordered the Machaca plate which was great. The beans were really good and I really loved that they served breakfast potatoes instead of rice. Others ordered the Chorizo plate which was also delicious and my mother ordered the Nopales with egg which she loved. One thing I absolutely loved is we were served complimentary sopita while we waited for our food and it was simple but, delicious. I definitely would recommend trying this small business. p.s they also have delicious Aguas Frescas and delicious Cafe De Olla! And I'm pretty sure their tortillas are handmade.
Food was ok... Very authentic Mexican restraunt however, feeling like you are eating in someone's kitchen/dining room. My expectations for the food were alot higher. I got a breakfast plate and the meat was hard, not tender. Potatoes tasted like theyve been frozen and everything else lacked flavor. Very nice service and owners are really sweet. There are better restraunts located in La Puente, especially surrounding cities such as West Covina or Covina.

No alcohol. No beer :( Give wicker basket of chips. Two salsas they make there own chips, salsa and tortillas. Fresh stuff. They have a lot of sodas. Only diet is coke diet I have a shredded beef tostada. The meat was pretty good and have a big fat jumper. No sour cream. But asked for it and she brought me plenty. Beef tostada had plenty of meat. It looked a little dry. Do not be fooled it was good. It was not dry. I asked for it to be mild because I don't like spicy and it was to mild, t then I put salsa and with mild salsa it was great.
I would definitely give this place another try because of the hospitality. The two people serving the lady in the kitchen and server himself were super friendly. It's a small and cozy Mexican spot, Mexican music playing in the a background not loud enough where you can't talk. The menu wasn't big but they didn't have two of the items my buddies tried to order. I had the carne en su jugo and it was okayyy, but it didn't taste like the carne en su jugo I've had before. I've had it in Guadalajara and at my aunts... It wasn't even close. I wouldn't make the drive or go out of my way but if I'm in the area, I would try it again.

Decided to try a new local place even though we've lived in area for over 25 years. Food was tasty, prices are affordable & service by Rachel was outstanding. She was super friendly, constantly checking up on us. We asked questions about menu choices. Made good recommendations. We opted for one of their specials Molcajete for 2. Very hearty portions (see photo) if they had handmade tortillas it would have earned 5 stars. Chips w/ 2 types of salsa mild & hot (a bit watery for my liking) Cup of daily soup is served w/ meal. Nice extra touch. Restaurant is small, older building but clean over all. It's located in an industrial area. Give them a try & support this family owned restaurant. We will come back again & try their breakfast next time.

A new restaurant in my neighborhood!!! Had to come in to try it!!! I can see my front door from their front door!!! Staff is Spanish speaking only!! Menu is in Spanish only! I do not speak Spanish!!! I ordered tacos, one of each pork, beef and chicken. With rice and beans. It was great, street taco style with cilantro, onion, limes and radishes. I will be coming back! I think it's a women owned & run business. Another reason to frequent this place!!!
The service and food was amazing. On my day date with my wife we came here. It's a new restaurant from an old establishment but the server and food were the same. Great taste and environment. We enjoyed our meal. We had the Chilaquiles verdes with egg and their Thursday Special Carne en su jugo! Highly recommend. And of course their cafe de olla.

Extremely friendly servers, but slow service as well. We waited a little over 25mins for our food, and it wasn't even worth the wait. We ordered the American breakfast, which is supposed to come with: eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Instead we got eggs, bacon, potatoes, beans and a pancake that was a mix between a cookie and dry corn bread. The orange juice is freshly squeezed with fresh SEEDS included. The over easy eggs were swimming in oil as well as the potatoes. Everything was just oily. They advertise their daily agua frescas on a hand written menu but when we ask for horchata they said "not today". Should've gone to the burger joint down the block instead. Waste of time and money. I'm giving it 2 stars because of good coffee and friendly servers. read more
4++ Mexican restaurant located in or around the area of old town La Puente. The place feels like mom and pop or family owned and operated. It's the type of place that I would be stoked finding it, if I was on a road trip driving from California through Texas (and through New Mexico). It just has that certain quality of authenticity or how you would imagine a Mexican spot like you see in the movies or something. I came in for a late lunch so I was the only one in the restaurant so the service was pretty quick. The menu is full of those combination classics that you would see at certain Mexican restaurants. I ended up ordering the three tacos dorados combo. I thought the food was great. Because it wasn't busy at the time parking was easy to find on the street. I parked right out front. read more
The food here is delicious. And they gave us a cup of their green chicken posole which was bomb! But unfortunately they don't make it every day! The service was exceptional! Hey guys today we visited cousins we haven't seen since our younger days in La Puente so we decided to be nostalgic and visit Cortez Bros restaurant but they are now Rincon Maria Felix. So we came to get some breakfast. Nice diner atmosphere and very friendly service they gave us a little history. They are about to turn 50 years old!!!! Wow! They started with a complementary cup of fideo which I might say wasn't that bad. My wife ordered the Machaca con Huevos (a shedded beef with peppers and onions scramble) side of potatoes and refried beans I ordered the chilaquiles con carne (fried tortilla chips bathed in red sauce with a piece of steak) side of potatoes and refried beans. Although they had very nice service the chef needs to up his game! The food looked great but the chilaquiles' sauce and the steak was bland needed something. The sauce tasted cannish not from scratch. The steak definitely needed seasoning and felt a little old. For desert we had the churros fried dough covered in cinnamon sugar and filled with cajeta (best part of the meal) I really wanted to like it here but was a little disappointed. I may come back if I'm in the area to try their lunch or dinner hopefully my experience will be better! read more

Another wonderful breakfast. Chorizo and eggs, menudo, chiliquilles con carne, pork tamale....everything was amazing. But the best part... the SERVICE!! They treat you like family!! I literally only want to eat HERE for breakfast. It just feels like home!! Every Agua Fresca was tasty and fresh... I had pineapple today. I have tried the orange with strawberries... and the Jamaica with strawberries... cucumber...all were absolutely delicious. read more
