Saw this place on Yelp, and was amazed on the great reviews this place received. Of the twelve reviews, eleven were 5 stars, with one being 4 stars. Looks and sounds like a great place to eat at. So with eagerness & excitement, we added this place to our, must go to list. So we showed up. Small place, 4 tables, and a counter for about 5 or 6 more customers. Simply decorated. Menu is whatever is showing on the wall, and pictures on the front window. We ordered the huevos rancheros, and a carne asada burrito. The huevos rancheros was a little different from what other restaurants serve, no tortilla under the eggs, eggs cooked well done, sauce was a little thick and spicy, tasted kind of like roasted chipotle? and it came with sauteed bell peppers on top. Carne asada was a little on the small side, meat was a little salty, salsa was good. Other than that, both dish were OK. Definitely a home cooked taste and feel to it. Couple of things that really put a smile on my face, was the freshly made corn tortillas, slightly thick, soft, and hot, totally awesome. Also, the lady working the dinning room was super nice, attentive and helpful. The best way to describe this place, is like going to your best friends house, and his mom cooks up a meal for you. The meal was a good old fashion home cooked meal that was good, wasn't 5 star quality, but good enough to satisfy your hunger. As I walked in it was very quiet, I was greeted by the owner, super polite. I ordered burrito de pollo mojado en salsa verde, chilaquiles and a quesadilla de asada. Made to order, didn't mind the wait (15 min). Got home and everything was very flavorful and delicious, only thing would be to please put more chicken on the burrito and less rice. The lady I assume was the owner was super sweet and she took my order. I got two sopes one asada and one pastor. She goes to the back and I hear her making the sopes shell by hand, and when the food was ready probably took about 20 minutes to make because of how freshly made everything was, and I take a bite of each of my sopes and they were so amazing, and so full of flavor l will definitely be back, the salsa she gave me was so delicious too with a bit of a kick and a lot of flavor. read more

After seeing all the good reviews, I feel bad about giving it only 2 stars. Came in on a Friday, around 5pm. First time here. The place was empty. In fact, the owner/cook was talking to someone outside the restaurant. Upon seeing us walk into the restaurant, she quickly came inside and asked if we knew what we wanted. Note, there is not menu. Everything is posted on the board. I ordered the taquitos ala carte, and one carne asada taco. Both was "con todo" (with everything). To go. It took a really long time for the food to come out. I'm assuming it's because everything was freshly made. The taquitos were covered in cotija cheese and lettuce. No guacamole, nothing else. The inside was some kind of paste. I can't even tell you what animal it came from. The tortilla on my carne asada taco was dry and tasted stale. The meat was also dry and tasteless. It only had cilantro and no onions. Is that "con todo"? Maybe it was an off day. Maybe since it was a Friday, she was running low on supplies. We were waiting for food for almost 30 minutes. In that time, not one person came in to order food. That could be a good thing because I don't see how she can run the restaurant all by herself if it got remotely busy. So often we're given food that has been sitting under a heat lamp for the last hour or so. Not here, she made my sopes to order, one asada and one al pastor. Certainly worth it!
