We've seen this truck before but never made it out. Tonight was it. Service: spot on. Ladies were super nice. Friendly. Helped us order. Quick. Cash only. The people that were ordering before us had been there before and were like ... how's your sister? How've you been? Regulars for sure. So that's always a good sign. Ambiance: street truck. Seats outside. A table. Very friendly and people coming in and out ordering. So that's a plus. Food: spot on. We ordered to go. Tacos. Torta. Sope. Fries. Burritos. Everything on the side. Only rookie mistake: order carne asada for everything. We'll try a different meat next time. Tacos were good. Burritos (2 meat only) and one with everything. Shrimp tacos. Carne asada fries. They gave us some tostaditas for free to try. Those were the best out of everything. Everything was delicious. She even gave us a phone number so we could order ahead of time next time for pick up. Plenty of salsa and onions to go. Service and food were spot on. We'll definitely be back.

4++ this taco truck came up on my search when I was looking for good tacos in the area. The person I ordered from was friendly. The truck seems to be a super popular spot in the area. I got my usual when going to a new truck / taqueria, etc. - a mulita and some tacos. In this case, I got a carne asada mulita (very large) and three tacos - Al pastor, cabeza, and a pescado. I thought every thing I ordered was tasty and well done with my favorite prob being the Al pastor taco and the mulita. I like that they give you pretty much everything you need in the form of small cups and baggies. I came on the later side on a Friday evening. Just got out of the gym and was leaving the area and I was hungry. So I sat in one of the provided stools and used another stool to dress up my stuff. It wasn't as busy as I was expecting on a Friday night but maybe I beat the late night rush. It was kind of a dark area and not a lot of foot traffic so parking was really easy to find.

An unassuming food truck making Yelp's 2022 Top Places to Eat in SGV in one of the top 20 spots! Online, it says they open at 6:30PM, located on the corner of Amar Road and Greyhill Ave. At 6:30, there was already a line of 10 groups in front of me, but it went relatively quickly. The staff was also so friendly. I got the trio of asada tostaditas which was different than other tostadas I've had as its just the regular taco tortilla but toasted so its still got the same crunch but not as thick - which I really liked. The meat was tender and I got all the fixings with cilantro, chopped white onions, and the grilled onions. The grilled onions are season which was A++ in my book. I also enjoy both red and green salsas for that extra kick. We topped off the meal with horchata which was perfectly sweet and cinnamony. Can't wait to come back!

Came here two more times and it just gets better and better. I always get the Al pastor but this time I got the pescado (fish). My boyfriend finally tried chorizo and every single one is amazing. The tripa is extra crispy which my boyfriend loved. Every purchase comes with a bag of grilled onions, cucumber, radish and lime. I 200% suggest you try this place, it's the best in all of la puente

Amazing food. The salsas compliment the food so much. The habanero salsa was amazing! Carne asada fries, carne asada mulita, Al pastor tacos was my order Everything was very flavorful and delicious. The fries had a ton of meat and cheese and topped with onions and avocado! Definitely recommend to everyone I know The service was fast and the food was fresh Definitely a taco truck vibe

    Carne asada fries (base)

A totally unexpected gem with overall excellent offerings and also good customer relations. My fridge was a bit empty at 10pm and I couldn't go to my Asian grocery store so I was hunting for some good eats. I noted there were many Mexican joints and taco trucks near me so I did my thing and searched Yelp for some carne asada fries (or more preferably al pastor). At first I was going to another establishment but they had just closed for the night despite the Yelp listing saying they were open 24/7. This was my second option and I'm glad I found this truck. It's a bit unassuming with no clear signage showing "El Sazon de las Gorditas." I had to check the photos on Yelp to make sure this was the right truck as there was a truck a block away as well. The truck itself says "Silver Fox Catering." The signage was a bit worn but after eating their food I think it's a sign of their longevity and focus on just plainly great food. First I ordered the carne asada fries with all the fixings. The base is fries, meat, sour cream, cheese, cilantro, diced onion, and sliced avocado and you get onions, chili(es), radish, cucumber, lime, and red and green salsa on the side. I put everything in save for the radish and cucumber which I used as a palate cleanser. Tasting it, everything was nice and all the flavors combined together well and provided a nice full range of flavor. Usually when it comes to these fries there is something lacking. Whether the fries are too dry or too soggy, the meat is dry and/or too finely chopped up, the toppings are sparse or not varied enough. Here they get it right. The meat is nicely sized, not too big and chunky that it's hard to portion out with the fries nor too fine where you can barely tell what meat it is. It has a good bite while still being tender. The avocado could be a bit more (surely I could try ordering extra next time) but I appreciate it being freshly sliced. Compared to guacamole I think for this combination it worked although having more so as to be present in more bites. The cheese is noticeable without being overly cheesy and the sour cream provides a nice tang to counter the richness. The fries are potentially the area I would tweak the most. They were nice thick fries which are a bit harder to get crispy and crunchy expeditiously. I know because It takes me at least 20 minutes to fry the perfect double fried French fries at home. It was good however as the thick cut was able to soak everything up and not be too wet or too dry while providing a full fluffy texture. Now the onions are a really nice addition I've seldom seen in carne asada fries. It was an amazing addition of these soft yet slightly crunchy onions. I think the way these are generally cooked is wrapped in foil over the grill. However it's done, these onions by themselves tasted great and added another welcome dimension to these fries. The chili also had sweet flesh, the flavor you get when chilies are cooked down. The red salsa was somewhat spicy but also had a natural sweetness to it which was nice while the green salsa was a bit spicier like a punch but with a smoky flavor. Overall I would rate these salsas quite highly. Many places don't offer lime with fries but I think they're just as necessary as they are with tacos. It helped add a brightness to the fries. All in all it was one of the best tasting carne asada fries. As I finished the order in my car, I decided to go back to order another fries to take home but with al pastor this time. This previous reviewer wasn't kidding when he said you'd be in line twice, although there wasn't a line at the time. Everything was consistently good and the al pastor had a really nice size and texture as well. Some of the best meats I've had from Mexican food. The girl at the register was also very gracious when I complimented the fries and she asked if it was my first time there. I replied that it was and she offered me two of their tostaditas complementary to taste. She said it was a popular order. The tostadita is basically a taco but the tortilla is fried and crunchy. Literally a "small tostada." Let me say that this was a really special bite. You have your usual meat and then some chopped cabbage, cilantro and sour cream as well as the slightest touch of beans with the meat or perhaps layered at the bottom right on top of the tortilla. I don't like beans that much with meat but it was just barely there and I really enjoyed it. As mentioned before the meat texture was good and the crunchy tortilla and the cabbage gave it a nice crunchy but light bite. Whoever made these surely knows how to make food taste good and I'm all for it. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try some excellent taco truck fare. PS the fries were $9 tax included! A decent individual size. Such good food at such a bargain. I am super bloated after eating everything mentioned but it was so worth it which is something I rarely can say.

I was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait, which is usually how long I normally wait at Mi Hibachi. I told the cashier (owner) I'll go to the store real quick and be back. I returned at 6:25, and my order was still not ready. I thought to myself "hey, maybe they have a big order, let's give it a few more minutes." 6:30, nothing ready. 6:40, nope, my order is still not ready. I see the cooks going back and forth as if they're making a bunch of orders at one time. Okay, so where is my order? Do they not know how to prioritize orders? I am literally standing in front of them, in pouring rain, pissed the hell off. Annoyed is an understatement for how I felt. Finally, 6:52, my order is ready. I take my order home, and once I get home, hungry and ready to eat, guess what? I take one bite of the rice, and it's stale. As if the rice was reheated from the microwave. I've never had this issue until today. Did they see my annoyed face and think they had to rush my order even faster so I don't complain? Well guys, as a restaurant owner myself, this is not how you should do business. Learn to prioritize your orders, especially when there are customers waiting in front of you. 20 minutes turning into 40 minutes is absolutely ridiculous. Also, this is just a side note. DIABLO means SPICY, very very very very very spicy. Your diablo sauce literally tastes like sriracha, hummus, and mayo. Isn't spicy at all. I, as of today will no longer be supporting this business. I am now sitting at home, cooking myself my own steam rice, and pairing with the steak and shrimp I got from Mi Hibachi. Oh, and I also need to use Truff hot sauce cause this sauce ain't cutting it.

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much, I thought it was gonna be like a glorified waba grill but I was wrong! I love Benihana and this tasted soooo much like it. Mostly due to their Garlic butter sauce. I'm not sure if they load it with so much garlic or if it has horseradish in it, but it had the same flavor and heat that benihanas mustard sauce has and that's my favorite! So I was in heaven eating my bowl from here. Also, we ordered it online. Drove 15mins to pick it up, it was ready. Drive 15mins back home and the food was still hot and fresh. CONS: -I wasn't a fan of the type of rice they use, it had the texture of brown rice and was pretty short/thicker grained... but it still tasted delicious. Their veggies were so fresh and cooked perfectly. -there isn't a description of what their sauces taste like so it was like choosing blindly. I'm so glad I chose the garlic though, I will get that every time! -the pieces of steak were cut too big imo, but again that's just my opinion. I'll be coming to this place way more often!

It was the massive wood-fired brick oven sitting inside what looked like a taco trailer. I actually had to do a double take. It felt like someone had folded an authentic Italian pizzeria into a food trailer using some sort of pizza wizardry. I visited on one of those 99°F days when the pavement feels personally offended by your existence. Watching Adam work next to that blazing oven made me sweat out of pure sympathy. Whoever is making those pizzas deserves a standing ovation... and probably unlimited lemonade. I ordered one of their best sellers, the **Debby's**, loaded with tomato sauce, fresh basil, mozzarella, sausage, and mushrooms. Then came the first bite. You know those moments when your brain quietly whispers, *"Yep... this is the one."* That happened. The crust was everything I want in a wood-fired pizza. Crisp on the outside, soft and chewy in the middle, with just enough stretch to make every slice fight back before letting go. That's the kind of resistance I'm happy to deal with. The tomato sauce tasted bright and fresh, with that lively acidity that says, "I met a tomato recently," instead of, "I've been living in a can since 2001." The mozzarella melted into every bite without stealing the spotlight. The mushrooms were juicy, the sausage had just the right amount of seasoning, and the basil tied everything together like the final note in a great song. What surprised me most wasn't that the pizza was good. It was *where* I found it. I never expected to discover pizza that reminded me of a great New York pizzeria right here in Hacienda Heights. For the longest time, I figured I'd have to drive to Los Angeles or Pasadena whenever a serious pizza craving hit. Looks like my gas tank just got a well-deserved break. Adamz Pizza Stop has officially earned a permanent spot on my pizza rotation. Sometimes the best slices aren't hiding in fancy restaurants. Sometimes they're coming out of a giant brick oven tucked inside a humble trailer, quietly making some of the best pizza in town.

Fonda Don Chon has high quality, flavorful and delicious food. It is my FAVORITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT.

I have been to Fonda don chon two times and both times I didn't have a chance to order any food …read more The waiter spoke Spanish to me which is fine but he got irritated that my adult children did not speak Spanish . He lectured me as to why my children didn't speak Spanish . If I work and my children's mother doesn't speak Spanish was explained to the waiter . The Reason wasn't good enough. I went to go eat Mexican food not to get lectured. Another time three of us went to the restaurant. There were many open tables . The waiter places us in a table that barely fit 3 not counting plates when the food was ordered . I told the waiter I wanted a bigger table . He said other times 3 people have fit at the table . Your party can fit at that table. I was trying to eat Comfortably. The waiter Got mad at me for asking for a bigger table . Once again it was at approximately 2:30 pm there was plenty of room. The waiter was so upset he was complaining that others have fit why not you guys. I said you know what I don't want to bother you any more so I told my party let's go. The waiter got mad again as we were walking out and he said in Spanish este gente esta fregando. It's too bad some of the wait staff have an attitude problem. I've heard the food is good at Fonda don chon . I guess I'll never find out .
