This a food truck parked in a unassuming residential neighborhood with plenty of parking all around. We got the sample platter & the 3 amigos platter which came out to be $36+ after taxes. Inflation is real. Each platter comes with a bag of diced onions/cilantro, radish chips, and 2 different salsas to garnish your tacos. The consommé was and should always be the star of the meal, and I thought it had a very good flavor with a hint of spicy and sweetness. To be honest, all the tacos utilized the same ingredients, just prepared differently. So perhaps one platter to share would have been enough, but we couldn't help ourselves. I came here on a rainy day to pick up some dinner and so glad I found this food truck. The address listed on Yelp says the truck is located on Altadena Ave but it's actually on Sierra Madre Blvd. If you need to park your car, there's enough street parking in front of the truck on Sierra Madre Blvd. I'm not sure if you're allowed to pull into the alley and park there, so just in case, park on the street instead! The 3 Amigos and Sample Platters are great choices for trying out their different options of Birria. I enjoyed all of them! The consume is savory and delicious. The Huesi bone marrow taco was good and worth a try, but I probably wouldn't go back to order that again. It was a little too fatty and oily for me. If you go to the truck to order, you'll wait for about 10-15 minutes. Honestly...there were just okay. Saw this truck and thought, finally Birria near me in the SGV and I wouldn't have to drive to Teddy's Red Tacos (they are truly the gold standard). But the tacos did not wow me, in fact, I was highly disappointed. Got the combo which includes 2 soft tacos, one hard taco and quesataco with a consome (broth from the birria) . PARKING: The truck is situated on a curb on Sierra Madre, so all parking is dependent on street parking. We parked our car next to the curb in front of the truck. FOOD: We both ordered Huesi / bone marrow tacos, which came with 1 taco, 1 bone with marrow, consomme, and a couple of sauces. The bone marrow was fatty, but didn't taste fresh or fully seasoned. And given that, their flavorful consomme is essential both for dipping and sipping. The crunchy taco doesn't stay very crunchy so you're basically getting three soft tacos. Honestly you're better off just ordering a few different items since they're fairly similar. If I were to come back, I'd get a queso taco, a vampiro and maybe a mulita in addition to the consomme. When I came on a Friday early evening I was the only customer, but no one acknowledged me in the truck as I stood there by the window. As far as the food it was a no go for me, they use way too much clove in the birria that's all we could taste was clove so over powering all other flavors lacked. We went to the north Alturas location. The portions are super generous I was full but not over stuffed. If this is your first time Do your self a favor get one of each taco and eat them as soon as they are served to you 1. Consomme. hands down the star of the show. Flavorful rich but not too rich. Perfectly complimented the tacos but it was so good that I ended up eating it by itself 2. Vampiro. SOOOOO delicious. Didn't need any additions but the onions and lime were a nice touch 3. The bone marrow was too fatty for my liking BUT that's just how bone marrow is. My friend ended up eating 2 bone marrow tacos. She was gnawing on the bone afterwards.
