Pasadena has a growing number of taco trucks and so far they do not disappoint but at the same time, they're all pretty similar. However, if you want something a little different, check out El Jarocho. This family run cart on steroids serves up traditional fare done untraditionally, if that makes any sense. They have a few fusion items that just work. The father & son duo that man the skillets are as friendly as can be. Every time we are there the mood is lively, loads of regulars chatting away with the staff while holding multiple plates of hot off the flattop tacos. Simply delicious and perfect for when you've had a bit too much to drink.

Lovely local taco stand with the best taco torta -- it's literally tacos with the tortilla in the torta so good! I really enjoyed their hot dog as well

El Jarocho is such a vibe. After drinking a beer at Wild Parrot down the street post run club, my friends and I are compelled always to continue our ritual of eating the delicious food here. Azul is a gem of a person, and always greets us with warmth. Love it.

This little stand is awesome! Friendly people, legit food and affordable! It was just the two of us so we didn't order a lot. 4 tacos, one each of asada, carnitas, al pastor and pollo with potato. The tortillas are really soft and fresh and the tacos are very flavorful! We also ordered the taco torta which was my favorite. The nice lady suggested an al pastor and asada combo, and she hit the mark! Really good! I'd recommend this to anyone and now that I know it's there and close to my home, I'll be going there frequently!

Always excellent food. The prices are awesome! And I love supporting a local family owned business. Don't miss the chorizada!

When I came in it was near closing time and there was no one sitting inside. I think they were closing up, but I had enough time to order something to go. I ended up ordering two fish tacos. It was neatly packaged and plenty of toppings, along with some salsa on the side. When I finally got around to eating the tacos, it was very tasty and there was a nice crisp to the Ensenada style tacos. I definitely cheer for places like this, and I tend to score a little higher only because I feel like there needs to be more places like this around. Not only that, but they have a pretty extensive menu, but I really just came here specifically for the fish tacos on this visit.

We were eventually offered two separate tables, which we accepted just so we could stay. Our server was slow and not particularly friendly, and the service overall was mediocre. The food was delicious, but unfortunately the experience and hospitality were nowhere near what I've experienced in Manhattan Beach. Very disappointing, especially after recommending it so highly.

We were eating there when another customer came in and was waiting for over 7 minutes with the employee not acknowledging her at all. She eventually just left. While the customer was saying her order, the employee got a personal call while dealing with the food, answered and was preparing the food while on her phone call. I have a video snipped of this interaction. As we were finishing about to leave, another customer came in and was waiting for over 5 min. The entire restaurant can see and hear her on the phone. Something about another employee not coming in and it was just her and that she had done everything. When the customer tried to get her attention she motioned hold on with her hand. I completely understand it sucks when a co worker calls out. But that was a bit much. No wonder this place is always dead. No one would want to come back after this experience.

They didn't open at 12:00pm as stated on sign. Their menu is super limited, like 3-4 meats, and some vegetarian option. I personally would like more meat option, like beef tongue, fish, etc. Their tacos are large and also pricey. $4.50 per regular taco and $5.50 per taco if it has cheese. I got 3 asada, and 2 pork. The asada tasted the best, I would only get asada next time. Their sauces are on a separate counter, and there's plenty of options.
