Pasadena has a growing number of taco trucks and so far they do not disappoint but at the same time, they're all pretty similar. However, if you want something a little different, check out El Jarocho. This family run cart on steroids serves up traditional fare done untraditionally, if that makes any sense. They have a few fusion items that just work. The father & son duo that man the skillets are as friendly as can be. Every time we are there the mood is lively, loads of regulars chatting away with the staff while holding multiple plates of hot off the flattop tacos. Simply delicious and perfect for when you've had a bit too much to drink.

Lovely local taco stand with the best taco torta -- it's literally tacos with the tortilla in the torta so good! I really enjoyed their hot dog as well

El Jarocho is such a vibe. After drinking a beer at Wild Parrot down the street post run club, my friends and I are compelled always to continue our ritual of eating the delicious food here. Azul is a gem of a person, and always greets us with warmth. Love it.

    Carne asada Burrito. Disappointment
    Steven B.

Paid $14 for the most disappointing burrito . I'm a local across the street and used to come here for dollar tacos way back when they had it. I tried a burrito here maybe 2 years back with the same issue. While in line one worker said to the other "why do you make it one way and way better for customers? " in Spanish "He replied it's bc when they order it here it has to look good " I immediately asked to get mine for there while they were finishing up. So disappointing , good thing this White guy knows Spanish. Take my money elsewhere. Smallest burrito ever with total disappointment.

Taco Torta (al pastor and asada combo)

This little stand is awesome! Friendly people, legit food and affordable! It was just the two of us so we didn't order a lot. 4 tacos, one each of asada, carnitas, al pastor and pollo with potato. The tortillas are really soft and fresh and the tacos are very flavorful! We also ordered the taco torta which was my favorite. The nice lady suggested an al pastor and asada combo, and she hit the mark! Really good! I'd recommend this to anyone and now that I know it's there and close to my home, I'll be going there frequently!

Undercooked buche when asked for well done.

Undercooked buche. I even asked for well done because they have undercooked my food many times in the past. I hope I don't get sick..

If I see "salsa" I'm thinking house salsa. Let's be specific~ Speaking of salsa, I ordered salsa verde and got something more like salsa amarillo? It's the blandest salsa ever. I could get more out of a sauce packet tbh. I don't know if the water down their salsas maybe? Of the (probably) many watered down items served here, this horchata has at least 3x more water than flavor. Also don't know how you can water down the flavor of meat but add that to the list too. I will say texture on the meat is good like I know it's not over or undercooked, but I taste next to nothing. Also received the most solid as a rock limes ever. Confused how that even came to be. This place is full of shiny gimmicks with no substance. If you're looking for good mexican food look elsewhere. It's southern california, you've got options.

Our waiter Gianni's is amazing! Give that guy a raise. The guacamole had onions so I had to pass, and the entire table ate onions and I didn't - so didn't try it. However, the chips and salsa were delicious. The mushroom queso dip is divine. Delicious. Creamy. Addictive. Must order it. I ordered the fillet mignon tacos - they were flattened steak - I'd prefer chopped. Would give the taco more texture. No accompanying sauce - so used the salsa - very good. The avocado was too thick. The mashed potato's were forgettable. I get it - mashed potato's in a Mexican restaurant. But why not add a fusion gravy? Flan for dessert was out of this world. Churros were slightly undercooked. A solid Mexican spot in Pasadena. Would like to try more food options.

It was the only place in the area open until 12 and my friends and I left karaoke at 1130. The experience was so bad I cancelled my order. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito for 5.85 and the cashier told me it cost $2.55 to add sour cream and did some extra weird punching in of things at the register and it went from $7 and some change when I initially said, "can you add sour cream" ? Then I all of sudden had a $9 bean and cheese burrito. My friend ordered in Spanish and told them no ice in her horchata. They put a full cup of ice and wrote it on the receipt in Spanish. Not sure if they were laughing at her ordering? Because her accent isn't super strong and she looks Italian - very fair skin w dark hair (still not a reason) but Ella es Panameña, but they laughed the whole time we were there. She also was missing a taco and they charged her for 3 and they took super long to make her food and they were closing in 15 min for 3 little street tacos. People kept coming from the back to the grill and the front register to laugh and speak Spanish (I speak Spanish) but very unprofessional and super rude establishment and environment.
