When we first walked in we had to wait until she finished filling up giant buckets of ice. When she finally came to take our order, she seemed annoyed and frustrated. We were eating there when another customer came in and was waiting for over 7 minutes with the employee not acknowledging her at all. She eventually just left. Another couple walked in, also waited 5 minutes until she came to assist from the back. While the customer was saying her order, the employee got a personal call while dealing with the food, answered and was preparing the food while on her phone call. I have a video snipped of this interaction. As we were finishing about to leave, another customer came in and was waiting for over 5 min. The entire restaurant can see and hear her on the phone. Something about another employee not coming in and it was just her and that she had done everything. When the customer tried to get her attention she motioned hold on with her hand. I've driven by this place many times and have wondered what's inside and whether the food is good. Well, it's not the best tacos I've had, but not the worst. It really comes down to the staff attention to details and their friendliness. It was apparent they did not want to be there and they just softly spoke questions on what tacos I wanted, that I could hardly hear. After a basketball game, we got 4 free taco coupons that lets us redeem 4 tacos. On a Sunday evening, we decided to go eat at Chronic Tacos for dinner. We ordered two potato tacos, two kids meal burritos, and also decided to redeem the 4 free tacos. They were really nice when they were wrapping our burritos and tacos. However, when we tried paying for our food, they decided to only use one of our coupons. How am I able to use the other three? Driving here and not being able to use our coupons is just crazy. It's ok though because we have 3 more coupons so we have to come here again. Honestly, the food was good, a very big portion if you are very hungry but I'm complaining because we didn't get to use all our 4 tacos. My burrito had some hair inside it but it's ok because it's a big burrito. I was able to eat around it. Please go support Chronic Tacos because they have no business. Chronic Tacos provides a respectable taco at a fair price. A growing chain in the US with about 30 locations, most in Southern CA, we catered Chronic to our workplace this week and were pleased. We had the Taco Bar Deluxe, a make-your-own taco setup complete with tortillas, meat (we had asada and carnitas), rice and beans, salsa, chips, pico, guac, and more. The food was fair. The Asada was dry and the carnitas a little underseasoned. The pico and guac were great, necessary even, for each taco. The chips were a little undersalted yet crisp, and not greasy. I had about three tacos and chips and was satisfied, but not impressed. As we had delivery I cannot comment on the ambiance or service, and I defer to other reviews. The proportions were generous for the price, and while the quality wasn't exceptional, the more conservative price tag is justified. LA is perhaps the most competitive Mexican food market in the world (apologies Mexico), with restaurants seeking to distinguish themselves with quality, value, and location. Chronic, as their moniker would suggest, seeks the latter two. Is chronic taco the best taco in LA? No. Are they a good taco? Yes. Should your visits be chronic? A friend and I decided to come to this establishment to pick up an order we had placed on Uber Eats. The restaurant was very empty, but there were people working, and no one approached us to ask if we needed help. We stood there for about four minutes before I finally got someone's attention to get my order and grab a drink that was eventually disgusting. Searching for a local taco place, I saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I placed an order online using their website and to my surprise was charged a 3% fee for using that service. Okay ... minus one star for sure. I would have called it in or ordered when I got there had I known there was a surcharge. This is a large franchise with multiple locations and even chipotle doesn't even tack on extra fees for ordering online. When I got my bowl, there is a layer of grease/water? Of course I poured that out. If you look at the picture, it looks like a wet bowl. From my initial bites, I did not find any chicken. So I dug for it and there was barely any chicken at all in this bowl. Furthermore, the bowl was just beans, sauce , cheese and veggies with scraps of chicken. It didn't even taste that great. Their Baja sauce tasted very plain. The beans were not seasoned enough and again not a lot of chicken. Overall I was disappointed.
