If it is good enough for Bad Bunny, then it must be good enough for me. The hype is real and you can tell by the long line which took 30 min long to get through at 9:30 pm on a Friday night. It was a lot of waiting but worth it. I got the pollo, asada, and frijoles tacos. They were good with the fresh made tortilla and guacamole. Forget about sitting because there is only a couple of benches outside. This is car trunk food. They were playing the FIFA soccer game on TV. Parking is ok, but it is a small lot for everything that is in there including a Grocery Outlet.
The wait is definitely worth it for the quality of tacos here! Don't expect a sit down place. There's only a few tables outside. On your way to order at the counter you see their salsa bar and fridge filled with a variety of sodas and housemade aguas frescas in plastic jugs. Salsas are not your average. I had never seen hibiscus pickled onions and was a little hesitant to try to but it definitely added a nice crunch and sweet factor to counter the fiery mango habanero salsa. Try all of them! I went with the Villa's Trio. 3 cheese tacos made from handmade blue corn tortillas that were topped with sour cream, onions, cilantro, and a small dollop of smashed avocado. I enjoyed the different options with the crispy cheese skirt. Ranchera asada, papas con chorizo, black bean con pollo. The black bean with chicken was the most unique and a great combo. They also have a vegan option with beans, potatoes, nopales, and soyrizo combos. Service was great even though they were busy. Parking was easy since there's a parking lot. Menu is simple but I would return to try regular tacos and mulitas.
Villa's Taco is known for their house-made blue-corn tacos and their hibiscus-pickled onions. They have been awarded Michelin rating for the past 3 years consecutively & L.A's top 101 restaurant in 2022 & 2023. Their menu is pretty simple. You choose your base for your tacos... Base taco: without cheese, but comes with onion, cilantro and guacamole Queso Taco: comes with onion, cilantro and guacamole + cheese and crema mexicana For and all-out experience, try their Mulita Taco: basically, it is everything in the questo taco, but the ingredients are sandwiched in 2 blue-corn tortilla shells They have both vegetarian and meat options, so there are plenty of options to choose from for all types of eaters out there. I got all of my tacos with the Queso base, which basically means the blue corn tortilla is coated with a layer of cheese that's then toasted to a crisp before adding on the toppings of choice 1. Ranchera Asada (4.5/5) Skirt steak taco: The steak meat was tender and flavored well. The cheesy edge of the taco adds a nice crunch factor. Once you add all the sauces, it does get a bit soggy, so eat it quickly. Personally, I do not recommend adding strong sauces with this taco as it will mask the beefy flavor. On its own, I really enjoyed it, but once I added on the Mango habanero sauce, it was just pure heat, and the spice is all you can taste. It numbs out all other flavor 2. Pierna de Pollo (4/5) Chicken thigh taco: The chicken was a bit on the dry side, but when combined with the fresh guacamole and salsa, it was still quite decent. Their hibiscus-pickled onions add a nice, refreshing texture and fruity tang. 3. Barbacoa (5/5) This was by far my favorite. 12-hour pit roasted meat, so you can imagine how much flavor it contains. It's served on Saturdays and Sundays only They have the following salsas at the self-serve salsa bar... -Chulas Roasted Blend -Jiquilpan Salsa: a spicy, rustic, smokey sauce made with charred tomatoes, smoked chili & chopped radish -Mango Habanero -Mango Pico de Gallo -Classic Verde -Classic Roja -Avocado In their fridge, they have fresh juices (watermelon, strawberry lemonade, pineapple, Hibiscus, cucumber-lime) and drinks (Jarritos, 1L Liter Coca-cola bottles). If you want to finish your meal with some sweet treat, they do have flan and cheesecake.
Have you been to the famous bad bunny superbowl taco place yet??? this is ur sign to go bc villas tacos SLAPS I was surprised how enjoyable it was. The homemade blue corn tortilla was soft but held everything together, the queso taco is worth, guac is included, and promise me to try the pickled jamaica onions with ur taco! Average taco is about $4-6 after fees, but worth imo. I would recommend trying their trio taco ($18) the first time as it provides a variety. I personally enjoyed asada and chorizo more. The chicken here is the stewed kind instead of grilled. Bc of how good everything was... low-key considering the vegan ones next visit Plus, good vibes all around as the staff is dancing while making ur food. (They actually stream it on the TV behind the register!) The location has plenty of parking but limited seating.
Came here right when they opened, there were already two lines for people who've ordered and people waiting to order. Menu was pretty straight forward so I got 4 tacos: 2 ranchera asada, pollo, and chorizo. Took about 7 minutes to receive the order after placing. Sauce bar is self serve and is definitely worth checking out all their sauces. Food I am still married to street stall vendor tacos, but villas taco is definitely up there in terms of flavor. The tortillas are handmade so it's chewy, fluffy, not too hard. I'd rather prefer tortillas that are a little bit more stiff, as these didn't hold the toppings too well. Meats were smoky, flavorful, and textures were spot on. Guacamole was on all their tacos so that's a plus. Favorite salsas were mango habanero and Jiquilpan. Service was pretty quick and efficient, there were people prepping, guiding the line, and bringing out food. Definitely not a sit down place, there's only about 2 benches that don't seat a lot of people. I saw most people just grabbed their food and ate at their cars.
Had to try the famous Villa's Tacos at Grand Central market. We visited on a Saturday around 7 pm and the line was about a half hour wait. There are tables right next to Villa's and people tend to eat and leave once they're done, so we found it pretty easy to find a spot to sit. We tried the quesatacos: chorizo con papa and ranchera. The ranchera was perfection. The meat was tender and had great flavor. The cheese was crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle. This one was my favorite. I wasn't impressed with the chorizo con papa quesataco. The flavor wasn't my favorite and I felt like there was more potato than chorizo. If you're indecisive, go with the ranchera. Their agua fresca de pepino y limon was good, however, I do wish they served it in more sustainable container. It was a very thick plastic container that I've seen other restaurants use for packing things like food or salsa, and it felt like I was wasting a lot of plastic.
Bad Bunny was here! Finally got the chance to come in and try Villa's after waiting for years. The service was great, vibes were immaculate, and the food was fresh with high quality tasting ingredients. I got the Billa platter with chicken, asada, chorizo, & the weekend special barbacoa. They were all great and it was probably too much food for me with all the cheese, meat, and guac. My favorite was definitely the pollo, the flavor was amazing and was one of ghe best chicken tacos I've ever had. The chorizo was also good, as it had the potatoes mixed in. The steak was solid, but it tasted too similar to the chorizo to me so it was hard for me to differentiate. The barbacoa was good but I wish the meat was a little more tender. Overall, I was not disappointed and will definitely be back for the chicken queso tacos!
Loved the tacos and the flavor. All components from the seasoning of the meat to the blue corn tortilla with the cheese crust, makes for an amazing bite. I got the combo plate and it was a good variety, I'd probably get that combo again. Line can be long and have a wait but it's worth it!! Parking can be tough and seating can be difficult as well. Their salsas are really good and so is their agua frescas. Ordering in the store is small, so the ambiance is well kept and clean but space is limited. They do have a good organized system though, so they make it work.
First time going to Villas Tacos and it was absolutely delicious. All three of the tacos were amazing in each of their own ways and the blue corn tortillas gave it a unique flavor I've never had before. I loved all three of the salsa's they gave me and each one had a different flavor that only added to the tacos. All of the staff was kind and the service was great. We will definitely be back for more in our next trip to LA.
Very hyped taco spot in LA, especially after the bad bunny Super Bowl show. Tacos were good but not the most amazing like people made them sound. The wait is long but the line does move fairly quickly. There's not many seats so don't expect to sit there and they don't have any public bathrooms too so just keep that in mind. I got the villa's trio the flavors were good, the best part was the cheese and the tortilla. The sauces were good as well. The agua de sandila felt watered down (I heard others say the same, so I don't know if I just went on an off day)
This taqueria featured in Bad Bunny's halftime performance has some of the best tacos I've tried thus far in LA. The quesotacos from here are so delicious. For for first timers, I'd recommend ordering the Villa's Trio which is what I got. Those come with the Ranchera Asada quesotaco as well as the Papas con Chorizo and Black Bean con Pollo quesotacos which are a trio exclusive. All the tacos were meaty, flavorful, and crispy. You honestly don't even need the side sauces since the tacos are already flavorful on their own. Great quality. I also got the Watermelon Agua Fresca which was refreshing, tasty, and sweet. Goes well with the tacos. I also got the Jamaica Agua Fresca, but that one was a bit too tart for my liking. The line can get long, so I would prepare to wait for up to an hour on weekends. There's ample free parking at the grocery store lot nearby. For seating and tables, it's limited and competitive. You just have to get lucky if a spot clears up as soon as you get your food. I also like how the restaurant handles crowd control. They allow a couple of people at a time to go inside, order, and get their condiments. You wait outside until they call you for your food. I like that it didn't feel crowded while I was getting my condiments. I highly recommend this spot and I will definitely be coming back.

Good food and came out quick too! Too expensive imo but they're friendly and efficient. They have a variety of bottled / canned drinks, plus aguas frescas. Got the piña for a drink but it tasted pretty watered down so I wouldn't get that again. It's super loud inside with music blasting, so if you're hard of hearing you may have difficulty hearing them while ordering. My partner had to yell to order just to communicate over the music LOL They have flan and cheesecake for dessert which I'd love to try in the future! read more
Villa's Tacos is definitely one of the highlights in LA! This location is in a strip mall with some outdoor seating, perfect for a great taco meal. The tacos here are so flavorful, and getting them with the melted cheese (queso taco) is an absolute must. I love the asada and the chorizo the best. The meats are cooked so well and are always so juicy with a nice bit of char too. The tortillas and the salsas/guac also pack so much flavor, which makes these tacos truly irresistable. Although some may say it's a tad more expensive than a taco stand, you are definitely getting your money's worth with the quality of the meat, the superb cooking, and the generous amounts of guac and salsa on each taco. Make sure to don't sleep on the desserts either--the flan is excellent. The staff here are all very kind as well. Definitely give Villa's Tacos a visit! read more

First time going to Villas Tacos and it was absolutely delicious. All three of the tacos were amazing in each of their own ways and the blue corn tortillas gave it a unique flavor I've never had before. I loved all three of the salsa's they gave me and each one had a different flavor that only added to the tacos. All of the staff was kind and the service was great. wow wow wow. so good. i can see why these are bad bunny's favorite tacos. i got the villas trio set and it was phenomenal. loved the crispy cheese on the tacos, the tortillas they use to make the tacos, and the dressing on top. there will be a line and it will be crowded but that's how you know these tacos are worth it. make sure to try out their drinks as well. i got the cucumber lime and it was so refreshing! read more
Fun spot with guests on tour of DTLA. Doesn't matter that they're pricey. It worth at trip on the tour of DTLA. PARKING Parking is expensive downtown. There are some hidden gems, but Sunday is a good day for guests & free parking. SERVICE super popular spot. You're gonna wait a few minutes at many spots in Grand Central Market. It's the weekend. Just be ready for the wait - effective behind the counter is doing their best to get good food out to you. FOOD Get the trio if you're a first time visitor. Doesn't matter which one. My friends love meat one. VEGAN TRIO: Their vegan tacos are excellent. I've been several times for these vegan tacos. Today, the vegan tacos were LOADED. Sometimes they're nicely stacked. I came on a day when the vegan tacos were super weak barely anything in them, even tho my omni friends had packed tacos. But I support their vegan option alongside their carne tacos. Jamaica onions. Gotta. There's plenty of salsa on the tacos but you need to get these onions. Drinks are okay if you don't want to stand in another line. SEATING You're in grand Central Market. You know the drill. But you've got TACOS! If you can wait 5 more minutes before you eat, go up Angel's Flight and eat in the courtyard at the top. read more

Villa's Tacos is wildly popular, and I have to admit, it lives up to its hype! Ordered the Villa's Trio, all of which came loaded with guac, cheese skirt, and protein on top of handmade blue corn tortillas. The tacos were messy to eat, but oh-so-good; I would recommend getting the salsa verde (mild spicy) and mango habanero (extra spicy; it packs a punch)! There's plenty of parking in the plaza (especially next to the grocery store), but I would recommend coming early before opening, as there'll likely be a decent line to get in. Takes about 20 minutes to get through, though, and I appreciate the friendly service no matter how busy it got. Solid service, solid tacos! Proud that it's a LA institution. read more
This spot is the original location. I saw a review say it's the grand central market location, so they're mistaken. Anyways I've followed this place since it was their only location, but have always been too far to try it. But I now realize it's a 10 minute drive from my office. My friend and I came a little before noon on a Monday. The parking lot seemed full, and there were a few people just sitting on the benches outside waiting patiently for them to open. My friend and I went up to look at the menu and unintentionally started the line. Then this old lady cut us. Whatever. The shop is tiny. They allow 5 guests in at a time, so I suggest one person from the party orders and the other secures a table as tables are limited. There is no indoor seating, it's all outdoor. Both of us ordered the sampler trio and an agua fresca. She got the cucumber limon and I got sandia (watermelon). The tacos come loaded with meat, cilantro, onion, creama, and crumbled queso fresco, and guac. And each tortilla has a layer of melted cheese, that right there is *chef's kiss*. The tacos were so delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, the portions were big. It's worth the hype. The line got longer as we were eating, so I suggest coming a little before opening if you aren't trying to stand in line for awhile, Now, you're probably wondering why if the tacos were that good, did I only get 4 stars. Well that's because they gave us two tiny little cups for salsa. And not two per taco sampler, but two tiny cups for 6 tacos. We had to ration it. And it was much of a hassle trying to ask for more. read more

We finally tried Villa's Tacos and they did not disappoint. These tacos are cheesy, saucy, and messy in the best way. The blue corn tortillas with that crispy cheese crust... so good. We got the trio and honestly that's the move for first timers. Everything was super flavorful and filling. Only thing--be ready to wait! We went on a Monday before they opened and there was already a line - not long but it gets longer. Extremely casual vibe with super friendly staff :) read more

5 STARS. Villa's Tacos is arguably the best taco shop in all of LA. The ranchera asada and chorizo de puerco queso tacos are 100% the reason to pay a visit to this shop. The freshly made blue corn tortillas with the grilled cheese and meat make the tacos so epic. The salsas that they serve with these tacos are a perfect complement too. Don't be intimidated by the long line out the door - it goes quickly, and they are very efficient. Seating space is a little limited at the picnic tables outside, but other than that, there is ample parking. Service has always been top notch and ultra-friendly. If you are looking for an amazing LA taco experience, make sure Villa's is top of your list. read more
Soooo bomb. We got queso tacos, one of each meat. My favorite was the asada. They have a good salsa selection too. The watermelon agua fresca was sooo refreshing. The flan was nothing standout but it satisfied the craving. There was a line on a Friday night, but I think all in all we waited 25 min to order and get our food. There are also only a few tables to eat at out front but we were lucky to grab a table as someone was leaving. read more
Imma be honest and say I'm a bandwagon and showed up because of the Bad Bunny Super Bowl performance but very glad I showed up because the hype is real! I heard the owner started as a street food vendor and worked his way up to now opening several locations...very admirable! Went on a Friday around 1pm and there was a line, about a 30 min wait counting the time in the line and food coming out. Line went by pretty fast and once your order is in , it also comes out super fast. Ordered Villas trio and 3 regular asada tacos . They were all delicious , normally I like regular tacos , I think that when a taco is well done it doesn't need much but the flavor of the meat. However, I wanted to try their trio since it's what they're known for. The tortillas were delicious, can definitely taste the freshness and I love that the cheese added to the tacos and wasn't overpowering. Also ordered agua de pepino y lemon & loved it ! It was perfect not too sweet & def fresh. I would stop by if in the area again. Also wanna go on a weekend to try out Birria Tacos :P (they're only served Saturday and Sunday ). This is a really popular spot and it shows! The wait to order took about 30+ mins. Once you order, food comes out within 5-7 minutes. Outside there are some benches but they fill up quickly so we ate in the car. I got 2 Ranchera Asada queso tacos and 1 chorizo queso taco. Flavor-wise, the tacos were really tasty but the meat itself was missing a bit of seasoning. The cotija cheese and guac helped. The portions are also good for the price and very filling. read more

Overall a flavorful, colorful, appealing taco, Main thing it barely had meat in it.. looking at pictures now I feel like we should've ordered regular tacos, I'll have to come back! read more

This location is in the Grand Central market in downtown. This is always a special experience. Everyone that lives here a visit should have this experience at least once. It's a great opportunity for people to have lots of different foods, although seating is always a challenge! The staff was super friendly and helpful when making choices. The wait wasn't terribly long, but it's soon was wrapping around the corner. We didn't wait too long for our tacos. And they are absolutely worth the wait! They were both delicate with the blue corn tortilla with a robust flavor, a perfectly seasoned meat and many choices for good salsa. I think next time I will ask for the guacamole on the side because I would like to taste it street taco style. I do understand what all the hype is about. read more
Came by Villa's Taco today around 2:30 pm with a couple of my buddies and it was still packed. There were about 10 people in line ahead of us and from waiting to order to actually getting our food, it took around 30 to 40 minutes. Definitely be ready for a wait. Since it was our first time, Eric in the back suggested we try the Villa's Taco Trio so we could sample a few things. Solid recommendation. We also grabbed a couple aguas frescas and the Jamaica was hands down the best one. Out of the trio, the ranchero asada was the clear winner. Great flavor and cooked just right. The papas con chorizo came in second. I would probably skip the black bean and pollo next time. If you go, stick with the queso taco style because that's what really makes Villa's stand out. The real highlight of the whole meal though was the salsa bar. The Mango Habanero was the best one, sweet with a good kick. Pro tip that nobody really talks about: get the pickled onions from the salsa bar. They are fire. I could honestly eat them by themselves, but they take the tacos to another level. Just know this is more of a grab and go spot. There's limited outdoor seating and parking is a mess. The lot is small and street parking is tough to find during peak hours. Service was quick once we ordered and the staff were friendly. Not much of an ambiance with no indoor seating. Just an order and eat in your car or on the 3 tables outside. I'll definitely come back to try more of the menu once the hype from the Super Bowl Bad Bunny promo dies down. Overall I'd give Villa's Taco a 9 out of 10. We live in SoCal and there are a lot of taco spots just as good without the long wait, but this place is still worth checking out at least once. read more
Loveeeeeee supporting a local business that is super cultured. They serve all their food with love and care. They offer house made jugos, salsa and their Queso tacos are perfectly crafted and cooked with a crispy cheese edge. I ordered 2 asada and a papas con chorizo. Definitely on the pricey side for some tacos, but it's worth the hype. The tacos come topped with chopped white onions, cilantro, creamy avocado and sprinkled with cotija. The self served salsa bar offers plenty of ways to top your food off - from mild, to spicy, to extraaaaa spicy. Due to the quality and flavors, i will be back! read more

OVERALL: great tacos but limited meat options. Check your order as they messed up mine. Long lines but worth it every now and again FOOD: the tacos are flavorful and heavy. The blue corn tortilla is thin and small and the filling is at capacity in the taco so it is often falling apart and messy to eat. Still worth it though. They have several aguas frescas (flavors depending on availability) served in a huge container. The annoying thing is that you have to take the lid off the container to drink it so it's not commuter friendly. They have an assortment of salsas and guac/lime salsa (wouldn't recommend this one since the tacos come with a heavy portion of fresh guac). The red salsa is my favorite. The orange habanero has a tangy flavor to it and IS spicy. SERVICE: there is a long line because only 5 people are allowed inside at a time to order. Beyond that the service is generally very slow. The guy who is monitoring the line is also the cashier... I made four orders under 1 bill and asked for them to come in different boxes but the tacos came all disorganized and they got my order wrong (I asked for barbacoa and they gave me chorizo, barbacoa is more expensive)... VENUE: no indoor seating. 3-4 picnic tables outside. Most people take the food to go. read more
Villas Tacos absolutely lived up to all the hype! It's been cracking extra hard after the amazing Bad Bunny halftime feature, but it's well worth standing in line for. And it has 3 Michelin Gourmand Bib wins, too! The size of the tacos are your standard street-style tacos, so it's not hard to eat 3-4 all by yourself if you come hungry. I got the Queso Taco with Pierna de Pollo (chicken leg meat) and Villa's Trio Sampler with Ranchera Asada, Papa's con Chorizo, and Black Bean con Pollo. Honestly, it's hard to choose which one I like because they're all so good! I didn't even had to add any salsa because each taco was already loaded with flavor. If I have to pick, the Papa's Co Chorizo is my winner though. Everything is well-seasoned, and blandness is non-existent here. And the Agua Fresca Jamaica is delicious. It's just a hint of refreshing sweetness without feeling like you're getting a heavy dose of sugar, and complements all the tacos well. Villas Tacos is the epitome of LA Street Taco scene and it more than deserve all the hype and accolades! I'll definitely come back here and also visit their other locations soon! read more

Get here early. Line starts forming before it opens. Shaded walkway with two large bench tables and two small bench tables. Parking right in front. The Michelin star is prominent at the entrance and draws the crowds. Super friendly welcoming service. Tacos, mulitas, trio and vegan options. Try everything! Really enjoyed the barbacoa crispy queso tacos. Also tried the vegan trio. Aroz con leche (rice pudding) was perfect to cut down that heat from the habanero salsa. Go easy on that one First visit at this original location nearby villas tacos. There's a few others in SoCal. Will definitely be back for more! read more
Wanted to check out the hype. Thankfully we didn't have wait long from what we heard and seen. There isn't a lot of spaces to eat. I've seen people eat by their cars. I got 2 regular tacos with asada and a queso taco with asada. Either I'm not used to the meat or the meat is just not to my liking. I was pretty sad about how the meat tasted. I'm not sure what red sauce or marinade they used but it wasn't good. What was great was the tortillas and the cheese they used. You can taste the freshness of the blue corn tortillas and really taste the blue corn. That cheese on the tortilla was sooo good. I honestly would just go back for just that, queso taco with no fillings. read more

Just depends when you go but I've been there multiple times and the wait is never close to 45 minutes. Think the longest I waited in line/picked up food was 20 minutes ish.
