Came here right when they opened, there were already two lines for people who've ordered and people waiting to order. Menu was pretty straight forward so I got 4 tacos: 2 ranchera asada, pollo, and chorizo. Took about 7 minutes to receive the order after placing. Sauce bar is self serve and is definitely worth checking out all their sauces. Food I am still married to street stall vendor tacos, but villas taco is definitely up there in terms of flavor. The tortillas are handmade so it's chewy, fluffy, not too hard. I'd rather prefer tortillas that are a little bit more stiff, as these didn't hold the toppings too well. Meats were smoky, flavorful, and textures were spot on. Guacamole was on all their tacos so that's a plus. Favorite salsas were mango habanero and Jiquilpan. Service was pretty quick and efficient, there were people prepping, guiding the line, and bringing out food. Definitely not a sit down place, there's only about 2 benches that don't seat a lot of people. I saw most people just grabbed their food and ate at their cars. read more

Bad Bunny was here! Finally got the chance to come in and try Villa's after waiting for years. The service was great, vibes were immaculate, and the food was fresh with high quality tasting ingredients. I got the Billa platter with chicken, asada, chorizo, & the weekend special barbacoa. They were all great and it was probably too much food for me with all the cheese, meat, and guac. My favorite was definitely the pollo, the flavor was amazing and was one of ghe best chicken tacos I've ever had. The chorizo was also good, as it had the potatoes mixed in. The steak was solid, but it tasted too similar to the chorizo to me so it was hard for me to differentiate. The barbacoa was good but I wish the meat was a little more tender. These are so worth the hype! Came here before the superbowl and I'm so happy they're getting more recognition. It's always consistent and tastes amazing every time I have it. Had to try the famous Villa's Tacos at Grand Central market. We visited on a Saturday around 7 pm and the line was about a half hour wait. There are tables right next to Villa's and people tend to eat and leave once they're done, so we found it pretty easy to find a spot to sit. We tried the quesatacos: chorizo con papa and ranchera. The ranchera was perfection. The meat was tender and had great flavor. The cheese was crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle. This one was my favorite. I wasn't impressed with the chorizo con papa quesataco. The flavor wasn't my favorite and I felt like there was more potato than chorizo. If you're indecisive, go with the ranchera. Their agua fresca de pepino y limon was good, however, I do wish they served it in more sustainable container. It was a very thick plastic container that I've seen other restaurants use for packing things like food or salsa, and it felt like I was wasting a lot of plastic. read more

Came 30 min before opening, and they gave a little speech to everyone about the menu before we went in. They recommended the taco trio and the barbacoa taquitos, so that's what we ordered. They're good tacos, but the only thing that really stood out to me was the crispy cheese. The blue corn tortilla was fine, but with all the toppings, I couldn't really taste much of the corn flavor. My favorite taco was the chicken and bean. I could actually taste the char on the chicken, and the black beans added a nice creamy, earthy flavor. The highlight, was how crispy the cheese was! The owner really hyped up the barbacoa taquitos, explaining that it's a farm-to-table weekend special and that the chef even went to Texcoco to learn how to make it. Unfortunately, the meat was kinda dry, and the tortilla was so hard that it scratched the roof of my mouth when I bit it. Dipped in the consommé, it was better, but it still wasn't enough to make me order it again. Okay, by now I've been here three or four times. Let's get into it. For starters the asada tacos are well seasoned, the tortilla is delicious and the condiments are fresh. The aguas frescas are tasty, so far I've had the cucumber limon, sandia and the Jamaica. The arroz con leche for dessert is also a hit. Now why they did not get a fifth star: The parking is a nightmare, packed and narrow spaces. Not the fault of the establishment but a pain to deal with nonetheless. The line has gotten better in the sense that they have someone expediting the orders once they are ready. Yet it's still chaotic. The biggest pet peeve is when you are inside (the smallest space imaginable) trying to access the salsa bar in close quarters and that backs up easily as only a few people fit in that section to get the salsa. This taqueria featured in Bad Bunny's halftime performance has some of the best tacos I've tried thus far in LA. The quesotacos from here are so delicious. For for first timers, I'd recommend ordering the Villa's Trio which is what I got. Those come with the Ranchera Asada quesotaco as well as the Papas con Chorizo and Black Bean con Pollo quesotacos which are a trio exclusive. All the tacos were meaty, flavorful, and crispy. You honestly don't even need the side sauces since the tacos are already flavorful on their own. Great quality. I also got the Watermelon Agua Fresca which was refreshing, tasty, and sweet. Goes well with the tacos. I also got the Jamaica Agua Fresca, but that one was a bit too tart for my liking. The line can get long, so I would prepare to wait for up to an hour on weekends. There's ample free parking at the grocery store lot nearby. For seating and tables, it's limited and competitive. You just have to get lucky if a spot clears up as soon as you get your food. I also like how the restaurant handles crowd control. They allow a couple of people at a time to go inside, order, and get their condiments. You wait outside until they call you for your food. There's plenty of parking in the plaza (especially next to the grocery store), but I would recommend coming early before opening, as there'll likely be a decent line to get in. My friend and I went up to look at the menu and unintentionally started the line. Then this old lady cut us. Whatever. The shop is tiny. They allow 5 guests in at a time, so I suggest one person from the party orders and the other secures a table as tables are limited. There is no indoor seating, it's all outdoor. Both of us ordered the sampler trio and an agua fresca. She got the cucumber limon and I got sandia (watermelon). The tacos come loaded with meat, cilantro, onion, creama, and crumbled queso fresco, and guac. And each tortilla has a layer of melted cheese, that right there is *chef's kiss*. The tacos were so delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, the portions were big. It's worth the hype. The line got longer as we were eating, so I suggest coming a little before opening if you aren't trying to stand in line for awhile, Now, you're probably wondering why if the tacos were that good, did I only get 4 stars. Line went by pretty fast and once your order is in , it also comes out super fast. Ordered Villas trio and 3 regular asada tacos . They were all delicious , normally I like regular tacos , I think that when a taco is well done it doesn't need much but the flavor of the meat. However, I wanted to try their trio since it's what they're known for. The tortillas were delicious, can definitely taste the freshness and I love that the cheese added to the tacos and wasn't overpowering. Also ordered agua de pepino y lemon & loved it ! This is a really popular spot and it shows! The wait to order took about 30+ mins. Once you order, food comes out within 5-7 minutes. Outside there are some benches but they fill up quickly so we ate in the car. I got 2 Ranchera Asada queso tacos and 1 chorizo queso taco. This location is in the Grand Central market in downtown. This is always a special experience. Everyone that lives here a visit should have this experience at least once. It's a great opportunity for people to have lots of different foods, although seating is always a challenge! The staff was super friendly and helpful when making choices. The wait wasn't terribly long, but it's soon was wrapping around the corner. We didn't wait too long for our tacos. And they are absolutely worth the wait! They were both delicate with the blue corn tortilla with a robust flavor, a perfectly seasoned meat and many choices for good salsa. Came by Villa's Taco today around 2:30 pm with a couple of my buddies and it was still packed. There were about 10 people in line ahead of us and from waiting to order to actually getting our food, it took around 30 to 40 minutes. Definitely be ready for a wait. Since it was our first time, Eric in the back suggested we try the Villa's Taco Trio so we could sample a few things. Solid recommendation. We also grabbed a couple aguas frescas and the Jamaica was hands down the best one. Out of the trio, the ranchero asada was the clear winner. Great flavor and cooked just right. The papas con chorizo came in second. I would probably skip the black bean and pollo next time. If you go, stick with the queso taco style because that's what really makes Villa's stand out. The real highlight of the whole meal though was the salsa bar. The Mango Habanero was the best one, sweet with a good kick. Pro tip that nobody really talks about: get the pickled onions from the salsa bar. They are fire. I could honestly eat them by themselves, but they take the tacos to another level. Just know this is more of a grab and go spot. There's limited outdoor seating and parking is a mess. The lot is small and street parking is tough to find during peak hours. Service was quick once we ordered and the staff were friendly. Not much of an ambiance with no indoor seating. Just an order and eat in your car or on the 3 tables outside. I'll definitely come back to try more of the menu once the hype from the Super Bowl Bad Bunny promo dies down. Overall I'd give Villa's Taco a 9 out of 10. The blue corn tortilla is thin and small and the filling is at capacity in the taco so it is often falling apart and messy to eat. Still worth it though. They have several aguas frescas (flavors depending on availability) served in a huge container. The annoying thing is that you have to take the lid off the container to drink it so it's not commuter friendly. They have an assortment of salsas and guac/lime salsa (wouldn't recommend this one since the tacos come with a heavy portion of fresh guac). The red salsa is my favorite. The orange habanero has a tangy flavor to it and IS spicy. SERVICE: there is a long line because only 5 people are allowed inside at a time to order. Beyond that the service is generally very slow. The guy who is monitoring the line is also the cashier... I made four orders under 1 bill and asked for them to come in different boxes but the tacos came all disorganized and they got my order wrong (I asked for barbacoa and they gave me chorizo, barbacoa is more expensive)... I've been meaning to try Villa's Tacos for a while, and it blew my expectations out of the water. I ordered the Queso Trio, and that cheese crust was such an innovative idea that I thought about it for hours after finishing my meal. I liked the chicken the most, followed by the asada, and then the chorizo. All of them were phenomenal in their own way. I love that they have six different hot sauces, each with its own unique flavor, my favorite being the pineapple habanero. The service was impeccable too. Villas Tacos absolutely lived up to all the hype! It's been cracking extra hard after the amazing Bad Bunny halftime feature, but it's well worth standing in line for. And it has 3 Michelin Gourmand Bib wins, too! The size of the tacos are your standard street-style tacos, so it's not hard to eat 3-4 all by yourself if you come hungry. I got the Queso Taco with Pierna de Pollo (chicken leg meat) and Villa's Trio Sampler with Ranchera Asada, Papa's con Chorizo, and Black Bean con Pollo. Honestly, it's hard to choose which one I like because they're all so good! I didn't even had to add any salsa because each taco was already loaded with flavor. If I have to pick, the Papa's Co Chorizo is my winner though. Everything is well-seasoned, and blandness is non-existent here. And the Agua Fresca Jamaica is delicious. Wanted to check out the hype. Thankfully we didn't have wait long from what we heard and seen. There isn't a lot of spaces to eat. I've seen people eat by their cars. I got 2 regular tacos with asada and a queso taco with asada. Either I'm not used to the meat or the meat is just not to my liking. I was pretty sad about how the meat tasted. I'm not sure what red sauce or marinade they used but it wasn't good. What was great was the tortillas and the cheese they used. You can taste the freshness of the blue corn tortillas and really taste the blue corn. That cheese on the tortilla was sooo good. Those were the group favorite. We got chicken, asada, and chorizo meats for our tacos. Everything was good. Finally got to try this viral taco place! It's basically a takeaway place, but they still have some outdoor seatings if you like to sit (there's no shade though) and enjoy your tacos fresh! We bought both of their sampler Trios, one with meat and one was vegan. After driving back home, the taco shells were already soft, but they still tasted pretty tasty! One thing that I didn't really like was their music in the shop was too loud and I could barely hear them when ordering. Perhaps they wanted to hype up the atmosphere?
