if I could get this place, no stars I would The service from the hostess to our server was terrible. they took forever withdrawing our drinks my fathers steak was full of fat, She forgot the water we asked for and then said I didn't hear you after she said yes I'll be right back with that. No, she just forgot. And to top it all off while we we're eating, we saw a mouse crawl along the baseboard of the restaurant. Yes, you heard me a live mouse. My dad got up and went and told someone about it and they said oh OK. We'll tell the manager instead of where is it can you show me? The food was terrible It had no taste. It was so hot. I went to El Camino's several years ago and it appears to have undergone a renovation since, but the food and staff have suffered significantly. I went to El Camino's during dinner on a Saturday. Getting there, we immediately noticed that 90% of the staff were not wearing masks. Tables were not following social distancing guidelines. However, we were already there and wanted to give the place a shot. There was a 5 minute wait. Once we were seated, we were not introduced to our waiter, so we were unsure who it was. The hostess took our drink order. One of the unmasked waiters came with our initial drinks, but did not give his name nor welcome us to the restaurant. He also informed us that they were out of chips and salsa while telling us the table next to us "had the last remaining order of chips". We had some additional drink orders from the menu. He did not understand what the orders were and had to look over the menu with us. He still did not understand the drink, so we proceeded to order just a Crown and Coke. After 10 minutes, he came and informed us they were out of regular Crown. We then ordered Crown Apple and cranberry juice. After another 10 minutes, he came back with Crown Apple and Coke with a shot of cranberry juice on the side. We asked him to remake this since Crown Apple and Coke are a horrible combination. Eventually we received the Crown Apple and cranberry in one drink. We were displeased with the timing so far, so we ordered a simple appetizer since we were not prepared to wait long for an entrée order. It took almost 20 minutes to receive some waffle fries drizzled in a tiny amount of cheese and bacon bits. It was OK, not worth the menu price. In the end, we ended up leaving after a few drinks and the one appetizer to a restaurant across the street where we were served much more pleasantly and quickly. This place used to be good, but now it feels like it has been ruined by bad management and poor staff choices. I won't be back. read more

If you are looking for really cheap food, you found the place. Very unfortunate how the food and the ambiance has degraded over the years. I used to LOVE going here when it was downtown. I came here once when I was a teenager in high school and it was always packed. So, 15 years later (yikes) as an adult, I'm here with my little family of 4. We were very happy with our meal as well as the price. They start you off with salsa and chips, I'm pretty sure it's from the jar, none the less my husband loves that kind. I ordered the beef nacho appetizer as my meal, my husband ordered a burger with fries, and we ordered chicken tenders for the kids. My nachos were HUGE, it was really good. The beef was seasoned very well and not overly salty. My husbands burger was very good. A very simple burger made well. The price though, you can't beat. $4.50 for a burger and fries. We are used to paying around 8-10 for a burger with fries so that totally made our night. The kids chicken tenders and fries were good for them and it kept them quiet so that's always a plus. Our waitress was very nice and informative, the food was very good and the prices were great! read more

Delicious food and fast, pleasant service. Guacamole is actually good and I highly recommend the fajitas. Only downside is that, with the spicy food, they do not have free soda refills. Granted, they only charge $1 per soda, but it is a small glass with full ice. Servers are told not to mention it, unless you ask. It sucks for their tips when an unknowing customer ends up with a nasty surprise when they get their Bill at the end of the meal. read more

El Camino's offers food that is a good mixture of Mexican and Cajun foods. They will also go above and beyond to provide people with healthier versions of their food. I have eaten there many, many times, which basically makes me an expert in their foods. The food and drinks are absolutely fantastic, not to mention their wonderful service by their wait staff. I'm from Houston, so maybe I'm expecting too much - like good service, hot food, drink refills and decent food. This restaurant had none of those. The server NEVER came back to check on our drinks - and that was after it took forever to get the original order. Our food took more than 30 minutes - And it all came out cold!!! I ordered the carne asada MEDIUM RARE - it came out cold, burnt and WELL DONE. We had three kids with us and they ordered the kids cheese quesadilla - they came out with jalapeños in them! And one child didn't even get hers and when the waiter said he'd have one right out to her, it took at least 15 minutes. So all wrong for the kids, had to make them wait for replacements and then one didn't get hers for an inordinate amount of time. Bad bad bad.... The food, service and general meal was such a disappointment that when in town again, I will never go back. Supposedly this was a great restaurant to eat at years ago - it has gone way downhill if that is the case. Pass it up - find another place to go!!! read more

Absolutely awful. It always has a packed parking lot when I pass by, so I decided to give it a try. We went around 3 pm. It was empty. As we entered, the stench of an old, moldy motel assaulted us. Anyone who has stayed in an old motel knows that smell. We should have left then, but we decided to give it a chance. The waitress was delightful. The salsa was pretty good. Not great, but good. The chips, however, had a huge clump of chips stuck together in the middle of the basket and there were many undercooked chips that were like eating rubber. We both ordered the baby buck burrito. It was huge. It was smothered in a brown sauce that was obviously straight out of a can. It ruined the whole meal. Inside the burrito was unseasoned ground beef, cheese, beans, curdled sour cream, and hot wilted lettuce. It was disgusting. Though the waitress was a delight, her obsessive need to give us drink refills became annoying. I later realized that they charge for refills, so now I know why she was so insistent. The only thing I can say that was good was that it was cheap. $17 for the two of us. As we walked up to pay we both were trying to figure out why this place gets so much business. Then we passed the bar and figured it out. People must go there to drink, not eat. read more
