Well, after a few years resisting frequent requests to try Mi Tio, again, I relented. Our experience this evening was essentially the same... food was not good, service was only fair, and, prices were not good for what we got. Tonight, I had Birria enchiladas, refritos and rice. The beans and rice were just ok. The birria was definitely unrecognizable. First, it's beef, not goat. It tasted like beef boiled in water, and shredded. Pretty much flavorless, definitely not birria. When I complained, I was offered the consommé, which added some flavor, but not birria. My meal was a total disappointment. My daughter had the taco plate with three different fillings, steak, carnitas, and chicken. All three were so salty, she couldn't eat them. Her beans and rice were good. The only bright spot was my lady's meal... an ala Carte bean burrito and a side of guacamole. The burrito was a tortilla, some refried beans and what seemed to be a queso fresco sauce. It was good. The guac was good. So, bottom line, it was a bad experience because the food was unrecognizable as what it was supposed to be. This was my exact complaint when Mi Tio had its grand opening. My Spanish speaking servers, assured me, in Spanish, I should give them another chance after the grand opening. Here we are years later dropping $65 for pitiful food and only fair drinks, barely even Mexican style. Not good. Not recommended. And definitely not real Mexican food. Mi Tio is a decent mexican restaurant. We stopped in for a small bite. The service was good. The tacos were good and came with so much meat. The drinks were okay. The bloody mary I got tasted okay. The Frida Kahlo drink was good but a bit on the sweeter side. Overall, a good experience. read more

The ambiance was nice. The service was pretty good. There were four of us having dinner and it wad walking distance from the hotel. It was recommended over another place called Chicken on the Bayou. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas but had to send them back they were cold and when eating them no flavor. Another of us ordered Chimichunga which he said was good. Another ordered a crispy chicken taco. My husband ordered Acapulco Plate which was fajitas. No flavor to meet except shrimp. They were not busy and it seemed like it took them a little while to make our margaritas. Our friends got ice tea and beer fast. I can recommend it but there were other choices too. read more

Trued this place out and it was really good. They had some of the best tacos that I've had in Louisiana. I had the "NORTEÑOS NEW OUTSIDE SKIRT STEAK TOPPED WITH ROASTED POBLANO, PEPPER, CHORIZO, BACON, SLICE OF AVOCADO AND MOCHA SAUCE 21.99". That was one of the best tacos. Great service, food and ambiance! Eclectic and lively place. Food is a little $$ but great portions. We got the birria's tacos and the ribeye tacos! Both soooo flavorful and so so yummy! We have eaten at a lot of Mexican places and this one is top 10 due to different items and ambience is fun. Food is hot and very fast. If you are looking for a stop on I-10 in the middle of nowhere or just tired of the long Atchafalaya or feel you need to eat before you head into that long stretch please stop you will not be dissapointed. Some of the best birria tacos at a restaurant (we wont compare to food trucks) and the street corn is 10/10. The mixed appetizer is something to split as a meal! Drinks are also a nice touch and we love to sample the flights! Service is always smiling and attentive. read more

We ordered food through door dash...we ordered fajitas in our order. We received our full order except the tortillas. Fajitas come with tortillas..right? It was no fault of the door dash driver. I called the restaurant and the front staff or young girl that answered the phone wanted to argue with me saying they don't do Door Dash. lol. I said, ma'am, I am looking at the food from your restaurant that I ordered through Door Dash. She said, "well, I don't know how because we don't do Door Dash". Gracious. It was a simple mistake that could have been fixed or received some off the bill because we don't have a vehicle at the moment to come to the restaurant. Located right off of Interstate 10 this restaurant is very easily accessed. Parking is okay. We were traveling in a motorhome so parking was a little more challenging. We were greeted by a hostess immediately. The restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely. Service was great throughout our visit. There were four of us dining. I ordered the special which was a grilled chicken breast covered in white queso with poblano peppers, rice, salad and charo beans. Two people ordered steak fajitas and one ordered the steak happy plate. The food was terrible. All of the food. It totally lacked flavor. The chicken was bland, queso had no flavor and not even the grilled peppers. All sides were bland. The steak fajitas were awful. I would not return. read more

This place really deserves more than 5 stars because WOW. This was my first time here and boy did it not disappoint. Both the food & drink menu are massive. For drink choices I kept it to the margaritas and ended up getting a rainbow frozen which consisted of strawberry, raspberry, and blue. So flavorful & amazing! I decided to get pollo rancho which was grilled chicken with rice, cheese sauce and veggies. Everything was so hot & fresh. I cannot wait to come back soon! read more

Excellent lunch! They brought salsa for two and a bean dip out with their complementary seasoned tortillas. You can't beat this location right off the interstate and souvenir/local artist shopping next door. We were staying at the Camp Margaritaville right up the road. Wish we had went in sooner because we would have dined here several more times before leaving town. The building is beautiful inside and out. A MUST stop when you are passing through or staying over. read more

Great Mexican food! There is a Mi Tio opening very close to where we live, so we road tripped to check it all out and it was muy fabuloso

Had dinner there last night meal was good service was sketchy my wife had to use the restroom before we left. I waited at the table with our leftovers to my surprise. Two small cockroaches were running around our table. I have no idea if they were while we were eating the table was dark wood, and obviously the roaches are brown. Let me start off with the positives, the food was delicious! If you are looking for good food, come here. However, if you are looking for good service...I'm a little eerie. Maybe we just ended up with a bad server and your experiences are different, but this was not a pleasant experience. From our point of few, there was about 10 tables in the restaurant but there were plenty of staff members. It did not look like a case of short of staff. As soon as we sat down, we ordered our drinks and we put a queso dip in. Our drinks were delivered 10 minutes later, then we reminded the server about our queso. She came back a few minutes later to take our food order and we had to remind her again about our queso dip. We started receiving food items before the queso even reached the table. Once we got our food, our server never checked on us for another 8 minutes and we were missing food items. My food was going cold before I even received anything else because our server was not attentive. We ordered another round of drinks and it took another 15 minutes, we had to go to the bar to check on the status and they had to find our server to see what was going on. Someone in my party walked outside and our server was by the host stand on her cellphone instead of tending to her two tables. When our second round came, they brought us an extra beer, but that isn't a big deal. However, when we tell our waitress to take the beer away and still get charged, there the issue arises. I am not one to talk to a manager at all, but this was one of the worst experiences I have had. She apologized for our experience which thank you, but all was done was the extra beer was taken off. We did not fuss, but you would think after waiting 30 minutes for a cheese dip we could have at least gotten that comped, but we did not make a scene and ask. Instead of trying to make things right, the excuse was "maybe she was just having an off day." I get it everyone does, but that is not a way to run a business and have happy customers. Again, the food was delicious and maybe we just had a bad experience, but something should have been done to make it right. read more

Everything we ordered was delicious. It was Taco Tuesday so we ordered the Fajita Tacos. They were delicious and grilled, tortilla and all. We got a chicken quesadilla to go for my significant other and he said it was the best quesadilla he has ever eaten. My daughter raved about the queso and the house salsa was great. Anyone who says this place lacks flavor really needs a COVID test. read more

1 star only because I couldn't choose 0. My first and last time going here. Food was bland, no seasoning. I ordered a steak stuffed avocado and there was barely a teaspoon of steak and the avocado wasn't even warm. It was not fried long enough. I also ordered a Chili Relleno with ground beef and it was just cheese, way too much cheese, and very bland. It was undercooked so the dough was chewy. Ordered Mexican Street corn...never got it. When I spoke to the waitress about it, she immediately said she would be able to take the Street Corn off of my ticket but not the Chili Relleno, even though it wasn't what I ordered, it was brought to the table. She said she would talk to them and see what she could do. She came back to the table and said that she could only take the street corn off. When I asked for a manager, she claimed to be one of the managers and would not go get the actual manager. She was the waitress until I asked for a manager. We were a group and a lot of them left disappointed also. I own a small business and I will do everything in my power to make sure my customers leave satisfied, whatever it takes. This is not the case here. They have been open a couple of weeks and the way they are treating customers is terrible. read more
