Everything was delicious! Salsa was great not spicy at all just tasted amazing. My friend got beef chimchamga and beef flauta platter and Pina colada, my mother had the shrimp chimichanga and long Island ice tea. I had the grilled chicken with cheese sauce and sliced sautéed bell peppers and beans and rice and flour tortillas with my blue margarita. Excellent. Waiter was gorgeous lol and very sweet and helpful when we had questions. Didnt wait long for food at all, granite we were the only ones there at the moment. He checked on us constantly. I went here cause I was feeling the waitress Phia. But was served by a different waitress. Who showed me how prices don't stay them same. I ordered the same thing all the time. Charged me for chips which I never got charged before. Plus to top it off she gave me attitude the very first time there and also when showing service. Don't know why I treated differently from all the other people but won't be going there no more. Before it was just for the salad the cutie. But my standards for getting different prices I draw the line. Not worth a walk when I have a good spot that serves the same salad plus a better portion for a lesser price. read more

I like this place a lot but Shocking! Wow! Hard to believe! The dinner prices here have increased beyond belief! A friend and I had dinner there this week and the bill was through the roof. I had chicken fajitas and a coke and with tax and tip it was $30. About 3 weeks ago I had lunch there, and exactly the same thing and the cost was half that amount. Lunch prices are definitely much better than dinner. Don't get me wrong. The food was great as always but "WOW" those prices. Most shocking is that my friend had a margarita that cost $22 just for the drink. You can buy a whole bottle of tequila for less than that. Came here with some buddy's while out on a cabin trip, and it was pretty good. It was a Monday night so the place wasn't super busy. The waitstaff was quick and attentive and made sure we were taken care of. I got the quesadilla verde which was tasty, as well as chips and salsa. This is my favorite place for Mexican food in the region. The service can be hit or miss it seems, but the food is consistently good. Happy Hour is always the best time to get margaritas, the salsa is fresh and you can't go wrong with their cheese dip or guacamole. I order the same thing every time-- the fajita quesadilla. I was looking for a non-chain restaurant option for dinner - and this seemed like a good place according to Yelp reviews. I opted to sit at the bar. Ordered sides of guacamole and Chorizo Con Queso to go with the basket of chip and salsa they brought out. And for my entree - a Burrito - this one came stuffed with half chicken and half beef, sitting in a bed of refried beans and covered with shredded lettuce, melted cheese, and sour cream. I was surprise at how much guacamole and con queso I got. It was pretty much a meal by itself. The Guacamole was rather average. But the Chorizo con queso was very tasty! There was a lot of Chorizo mixed in! Then out comes this massive Burrito! A word of caution - the plate was very hot! The food was also piping hot! I asked for some hot sauce to go with the Burrito - they brought out a cup of sauce that was their homemade hot sauce - not something bottled! It was very spicy! Loved it! This place is definitely nothing to write home about. We came on a Sunday afternoon pretty much as soon as they opened, so service was relatively fast. This place is a lot pricier than what I'm used to, and most of the portion sizes definitely aren't worth it. Some of the staff didn't seem too personable, but I don't usually eat at chains like this for Mexican, either. The food was good, don't get me wrong, but not a place to go for lunch on a weekend since everything on the menu is over $10. I'll stick to family owned places from now on. read more

I stopped here to grab a quick lunch. The staff was very attentive to me as soon as I walked in. I've been here times before and seen it both very busy, and relatively slow. This time it wasn't too crowded and I was seated quickly. My server Brittany was very quick to get the chips and salsa to the table and take my order. I ordered the Enchiladas Super Rancheras which was delicious. As I said I was here for a quick lunch, and that it was. I was seated, ordered, ate, and paid within maybe 45 minutes. Stopped here while passing thru for work. Was open for dine in and take out. I was here around lunch time/ early afternoon on a Monday (during the pandemic) I ordered take out. I had to wait about 5 minutes before I could place my order. Then waited another 15-20 mins for my food. Packaged well- and sizing was very good for to go. My only issue was, I had something packaged wrong and didn't check the order prior to leaving. I definitely recommend checking the order before you go- to make sure it's made & packaged the way you asked. They fixed my issue no problem and I would definitely recommend and repeat. They were beyond wonderful with their service. I ordered a chimichanga platter - came with beans (no rice). I ordered a side of rice. I ordered the queso- and chips appetizer as well as the guacamole- and chips appetizer. They gave me lots and lots of chips- everything was individually packaged and tasted great. My husband and I went here on impulse - we were hungry from a long hike and it was open. The wait staff was friendly and provided outstanding service and the food was exceptional. We both enjoyed margaritas on the rocks with salt and I had the enchiladas mexicanas and he had Guadalajara special. Mine had just the right amount of spice, enough to feel the heat, but not overwhelm the dish. Would definitely eat here again if I am ever again in the area. read more

This is by far one of the most disgusting places I have ever been to. The people who gave this place 4 stars above are either liars or they have no taste buds. The place looks really nice, so when we got our food we were quite shocked with what happened next. We started off our meal with fried store bought corn chips. Which wasn't so bad except for the very old tasting salsa they gave us. I was thinking ok maybe they just did have any fresh left after the lunch rush not to worry. Next we ordered some guacamole. They charged us almost 6 dollars for one avocado they mushed in with the gross salsa that was clearly not fresh since it was already starting to turn colors. This really upset me because its not hard to make a fresh one and I know for a fact an avocado doesn't cost 6 dollars! But I think to myself you know what i'm hungry Ill just let it go. We then ordered a sampler that had a little bit of everything, 2 tacos, 2 enchiladas, a chile relleno a burrito and a tamale. We were deff going to take the leftovers home to have for dinner the next night. So our food arrives and I noticed there was an excessive amount of steam coming off my enchilada. I was practically boiling but there were no bake marks on the cheese. I thought that was odd. So I take a bite and I have to put serious elbow grease in to cut through the corn tortilla. It was so tough and chewy like it had been microwaved! While I'm chewing I notice immediately that my enchilada was stuffed and covered with with american cheese which gave it a really weird flavor. I couldn't believe it. Next I try my taco, and upon inspection my taco is made out of those pre pressed already made tacoshells like from taco bell and it has disintegrated into mush when I touched it. I annoyingly scoop up some filling because im starving and taste it, the meat was bland and watery like it had been boiled! While i'm investigating the garbage they called my lunch my wife notices the same thing. Her burrito was microwaved, had the same watery ground beef inside, american cheese and old salsa dumped over the top. It too, was disgusting. She looked around and couldn't find the chille reanno, in its place was a stuffed openfaced green pepper with the boiled meat and american cheese. And last but not least we both tried the tamale after saying a little prayer that it didn't give us some horrific disease or poisoning and sure enough it had boiled meat inside and the dough was completely raw and the center was cold! After confronting the manager she offered to take 30 dollar off our meal. She charged us for the 6 dollar avacado/guacamole and the two margaritas that my wife ordered. I shamed them for serving us such trash food and then I called the owner to shame him, who by the way sounded like he could care less. If I could call up Gordan Ramsay and tell on them I would! Went on a dinner date here last night. Pros: The atmosphere was great, the drink special was fantastic and the food was delicious. The portions were large and the pricing was great. Cons: It was kind of loud and a little difficult to carry a conversation at a normal level. It was confusing to figure out who our waitress was since 4 different people came by our table. We've been going to this restaurant for a good 20 years and we have to say that this is the best food we have ever eaten in our lives!!! The owners and their workers are like family to us and treat us as such every single time that we go! The food is consistently out of this world and if we could afford to, we would eat here every single day!! This is no joke! The people on here that are giving bad reviews must be on something or have no idea what great food really is! No matter what we order, it is out of this world delicious and flavorful and not only that, they are very fast about it! These are good, honest people and we love them like family! We do understand that the prices are going up but it's definitely not their fault - everything is going up astronomically - but no matter what, we will continue to frequent our beloved restaurant! If this place ever closed down we would be devastated! The portions are huge. We used to go to another Mexican restaurant that is close by to them years ago, but when we left that establishment, we were still starving! Do not go here. Ever. Went with my wife last summer and had a downright terrible experience. The wait staff was non-existent so we were served by the manager in charge, who was a jerk. The food was disgusting, greasy and nearly inedible. This is a great authentic mexican restaurant that my wife and I love. We look for excuses to drive to Altoona (which is 45 minutes away from our home) to eat here because it's that good. The food is exceptional - excellent sauces, and consistent quality. I love their "Camarones Ala Diabla" (Devil's Shrimp) but my favorite dish has to be the "Enchiladas Super Rancheras" - which is a huge dish (5 different types of enchiladas). I'm not a very big guy, and I usually don't like to eat large meals, but I can't pass this one up. Their margaritas are really good as well. They have many different combinations too, with very flexible selections of sides. I heard about this place from a lot of other friends and I agree with all of them - this is the place to go for good mexican food. Probably the best Queso I have had anywhere around here and they even have a vegetarian menu, very nice. Two complaints, the service can be very slow and if you plan on going in the evening Friday or Saturday, go early, you will be waiting. While I'm from the area, I've been in Texas (mainly Houston) for most of my life. Texas is obviously synonymous with great Mexican or Tex-Mex food; therefore, admittedly, I'm spoiled and perhaps a bit biased. I'm home to visit my grandmother and I like to frequent, when possible, non-chain local restaurants. However, I'd pass here. I had the enchiladas super rancheras (five different enchiladas) and an unsweetened tea. It was OK. The sour cream drowned the bean enchilada in the middle and left things watery on the plate as I tried to eat most of the five. I usually finish an order like this easily, but I left about 10-15% on the plate. The chips and salsa were acceptable, nothing fantastic. $2.75 for a soft drink that the waiter never asked if I wanted refilled. (The water for the unsweetened tea tastes like it came out of the creek that flows behind the CVS and restaurant.) I'd try some place else in Altoona or the area. read more
