I always have an experience when I go to Olive Garden. Whether it be good or bad. However, with this experience, I ended up having a very good experience this time around. We showed up and ended up getting a table as soon as we walked in. I chalk that up to the fact that it was between the meal rushes. Upon sitting down our server was at the table to take our drink order and see if we wanted any appetizers. We placed our drink order and looked over the menu. When our serve came back with our drinks we placed our order and were ready for our breadsticks and soup/salad. I have to take a minute to give our server some big props. He was amazing and always made sure we had everything we needed throughout our experience. Drinks showed up without having to ask for refills and we were always with breadsticks. He was amazing and really good at his job. We appreciated that and made sure we thanked him profusely prior to us leaving. As for the food, I went with what I ordered when I had a bad experience. I wanted to give it another try and see if it would be any better. I went with the Asiago Tortelloni Alfredo with Grilled Chicken. My sister gave me a side-eye thinking I was crazy for ordering that again. This time it was amazing prepared and flavored correctly. I was delighted with the taste of it all. Ok let's talk review ok this is not any lie but everyone needs to know this place in Altoona first the kitchen is a fire hazard built up grease behind the ovens people not washing their hands some wear gloves some don't theirs employees having coitus in the restrooms during work hours the managers are not always their and get payed they have their own little click's like highschool and they start drama and put new employees in with problem makers they are popping zits and touching the food their is inappropriate non professional sexual talk going on between workers their slogan is when your hear your family and they don't follow it they put out looking for workers that they need they refuse to hire and refuse to give call backs about positions they are very un professional and my family is sick because of the un hygienic things going on they need sensitivey training and proper etiquette traing proper hygiene training and if they have a problem with water being shut off they should not be open cause washing dishes with with dirty water will give olive garden a bad name and the health inspector will shut them down they fired a worker because he would not put up with the bull crap they did not like that so they staged a fight between the workers and fired the one then two weeks later they fired the other worker I will never go to that restaurant and eat ever again! read more

Ive been here in the past, but this time was pretty successful. I typically do not eat at chain restaurants. Really, its hard for me to eat at a place more than twice, at all. We were seated within ten minutes. Bread and water was brought instantly. We tried to Peach Sangria which was so good. If I was brought that any sooner, I would have had time for 2. Court ordered the Lasagna Frit -- app. Ive never been so excited. It was really good and apparently I have missed out for some time. Salad and more breadsticks were brought out quickly. I couldn't decide what to order, so I did the make your own pasta dish. Although I regret my choice, I still think it should've at least tasted better. The dish literally came with 5 strips of chicken. The entire experience was really great. The waitress was so extremely nice. I cant remember her name but it was a common name, but spelled very differently. She was the best waitress I've come across in a long time. It is neat that you can pay from the apparatus on the table. We got in and out and our bellies filled in about an hour. The service was solid. Robert was our server and he had our table alongside several other tables and one with 12 people. Even with all of the chaos that can happen with that many people, he did a great job and managed his time very well! The food was okay, the pasta was good but the chicken always seems to be rubbery and has a weird fake texture most times we get it. The soup was great! The ambiance was nice. Some noisy tables but that's not really a thing that Olive Garden can control. The tables were clean and organized and the restaurant was very clean! I will go back again but I will be avoiding the chicken! read more

While dining my wife and I noticed a group being seated and one patron had a small dog in a back pack carrier. Now it was obvious that it wasn't a "support animal" or the bag wouldn't have been removed from the persons back and shoved under the table. Shortly after we started to hear the dog barking and whining. It was apparent that the group of 8 didn't have an issue with the dogs noises but then the owner took the dog from the bag and held it on her lap. Moments later it, the dog, was eating right off the table. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs and love eating. I just don't want to be in a restaurant paying for my meal and have a dog eating off the table next to me. Not even if it was McDonalds or Wendy's or a convenience store. Out meal was great but the dog just ruined the whole meal. Its a shame businesses are so afraid to "hurt" someone's feelings and lose them as a customer. Ordered dinner to go online on a week night for pick up at 5pm, figuring I would beat the rush. I was running a little late (less than 10 minutes) and thought I would have to apologize for holding things up. Instead, I waited 15 minutes after I got there, because things were backed up. But the staff were professional, and the food was still warm by the time I got it home. The salads came pre-packaged in generous servings, and gotta love those breadsticks! Ok, I am as shocked as you are that I would give any chain restaurant, especially an Olive Garden 5 stars. I think the shock of so many interesting, different expectations vs output from this dining experience has caused the 5-star rating. First off, the parking lot was packed so I expected to wait for quite a while, but when I entered, the hostesses told me that there was seating at the bar since there would be a wait. Well, I have had "bar seating" before and it has been terrible every time as the bartender is focused on drinks, not on food, so I declined. I decided to wait and angrily sat down to wait as my stomach growled; however, in about 7 minutes (yes, I timed it), I was called to be seated. I was seated and experienced "Kristen". I remember the name because this is my favorite niece's name. She was amazing--attentive, caring, talkative, accommodating, etc. Everything you would want in a server, she was that and more. Being vegan (for my followers, sorry you have to hear that again, ugh), she did her best to make sure my meal was as I wished...even sprinkling garlic on the breadsticks and wrapping the napkin around them so the garlic would stay put--butter is the key here and I don't do butter. The salad was good even without the cheese and croutons; and, the meal was excellent as I ordered whole grain linguine with marinara sauce. I ordered extra marinara to dip my "garlic" breadsticks in so there would be added flavor. Yummy. Overall, everything was splendid (did I just say that for an Olive Garden?). *Kristen made the night memorable as she was one, if not the best, server I've ever had. Amber was very attentive and provided fast service. The salad came out crisp and without the olives and peppers as request and the breadsticks were warm and perfectly baked. Amber offered us a sample of the watermelon moscato sangria which tasted like a liquid watermelon jolly rancher. The pitcher cost $24, and though it says it serves 4, we got 5 glasses out of it. The sample of Pinot Grigio was not chilled, so a glass of Chardonnay was ordered instead. The braised beef and tortellini is a large portion. The beef is tender and the dish has a rich creamy taste. The chicken and shrimp carbonara was great. The bacon was in every bite. Our table also ordered the chicken margarita which had delicious zucchini which complemented the moist chicken. The chicken parm looks and tastes like they breaded a rubber chicken. I legitimately question whether it's real chicken. The whole meal tastes like it was padded with chewy plastic fillers. When we arrived we were greeted and sat with such hospitality. Our waiter, Andrew, on the other hand was not very personable. We received a dirty glass and 2 dirty knives. When asking for a new drink for my grandmother, we were treated like an inconvenience and our waiter was very difficult to track. We were not checked on once, we had to ask for a refill and were not asked if we wanted dessert, which we did at the beginning, but not by the end of the meal. The girl who brought us our food, though was very hospitable and asked if we needed anything and got it for us. This is one of the worst experiences I have had in a while. I've been to this particular Olive Garden a number of times, and I've always left with a smile on my face and a very full stomach. My entire family and I came here for dinner recently to celebrate a birthday. Since it was Saturday, we figured the restaurant would be quite busy, so we tried to make a reservation. Upon calling, we were informed that they do not take reservations before 7pm. That was disappointing. (Hence only four stars) We arrived around 5:30 to a very full restaurant and waiting line. We were told it would be at least a 30-40 minute wait for a table. We decided to wait. It was only about 20 minutes before our pager buzzed and we were taken to our table. Our waiter went above and beyond to make our meal enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and recommendations. I got my usual chicken Alfredo. The waiter was very prompt with salad and breadsticks. At the end of our meal, he brought us our check and the usual Olive Garden Andes mints. We made a comment to him that we all enjoyed the mints and he left and returned with an entire plastic cup full of mints! Kudos to him for that! Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner. I was just here today for lunch and it was a very pleasant dining experience. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Let's start off with our waitress Jade, she was amazing. She met all of our needs with efficiency and skill. She was nice too which is a bonus. I had a glass of red wine to drink (I don't even like red wine) I don't remember the name of it because it was brought out for a tasting. However, it was phenomenal. One glass was more than enough. This OG is pretty standard but they have really good service, which sets them above average. We went last night and it took about an hour and a half for two adult entrees and two kid entrees, seating to leaving. But the food was above expectations when it arrived. This is a VERY busy location and if you hit it at the wrong time, you'll have difficulty with parking and a wait. Once you're seated, you won't feel rushed. Wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu and wine selections. Our server last night recommended a wine that I would order again. She was also attentive without being intrusive, anticipatory about refills of bread and beverages, and kept us updated about the status of our meal, which did take longer than this location's usual. You can get Olive Garden anywhere but what you can't get everywhere is good service, which is worth the wait. read more

I don't really know what more to say about an Olive Garden. It's right on par with the rest of them. You may question my five star rating here, well this is based on service. Time for a funny story and as my family would call it "a memory". My Uncle had taken my cousins and I to lunch on his lunch break. He is an business investment banker so he's always dressed to the nines. Long story short, we all had iced tea to drink so the waiter brought us 5 iced teas plus a pitcher for refills. Something happened along the way and just like you see in movies the tray of tea went all over my Uncle. Without even asking or complaining (we were all laughing too hard) the manager came out offered to comp everything and pay for my Uncle's dry cleaning! My Uncle declined and chalked it up to accidents happened. We paid for our meal, went on our way and still laugh about it 2 years later.
