My experience today was just horrible as I didn't have the pleasure of even getting to choose a snack. Came here with my wife after church service, It was our first time here. We were not disappointed. Firstly the lady helping us was very welcoming as soon as we came in the door. We arrived here almost to closing time and she still helped us and was very kind. We got an esquite with hot cheetos on top and a bowl of ice cream. La Michoacana is fairly a large store and has many different types of ice cream but I usually get the ice cream bars. They have many different unique flavors that you don't see at your typical Rite Aid or Baskin Robbins. La Michoacana represents their culture as well with food, desserts, drinks, and the vibes. What I noticed about their ice cream and bars was that it being sweeter than the other types of ice cream that I've had. Baskin Robbins was the first ice cream that I ever had that was super sweet. Fruity Pebbles bar: This bar was SUPER SWEET that it gave me a headache. I do not recommend this for people who are diabetic. The pieces of the cereal gave it a fun vibe but chewy. Furthermore it does not melt easily. Coco and Ferrero scoops: According to my husband it was really sweet. Chicle (bubblegum) scoop: According to my son it was super delicious! The colors were fun too and great for kids! The bar compared to the scoops doesn't melt easily but the ice cream scoops does melt and so be prepared to eat it quickly! The outside is a creamy coconut with coconut bits and the center is fruity pineapple icy part! I also love the esquites here! Service was absolutely horrible. I walked in and wasn't greeted. The place wasn't packed, and there was only one worker. I waited in line for about 10 minutes to get service. The worker kept taking orders from a lady who was already sitting down eating. Rather than serving the customers who were waiting in line, she was serving the lady who kept getting up to cut in line and order more items. It's common courtesy to help the people waiting in line and to tell those who are getting up to cut to get in line. While paying, the lady gets up and orders more food with cash in her hand. There were two young ladies behind me who had been waiting a long time like I did and they were not happy as well. Staff needs to do better!! read more

This one was beautiful however the taste just did not match the appearance...the mangoes were not ripe so they were hard (this has happened to me before and I understand it can't be mango season all year round or there could be a bad batch etc) and this just added to the fact that the ice cream or sorbet in it was also just almost tasteless. For some reason the chamoy/tamarind mix tasted like bubblegum on the top throwing all of the flavors off. I think I just got caught up in the hype of it all. The owner was working and the staff were all helpful and quick. When I read the other reviews, I was a bit surprised, but I haven't had the issues that others have had. During COVID, they are enforcing masks at all times and there are social distancing markers placed in the queue line. Of all the Michoacana's within a 5 mi radius, I really enjoy coming to this one. I recently had the opportunity to visit this location with my kids and my sister. We were greeted nicely by a lady. She helped us out with no problem. I bought agua de guayaba, it was so good, I want another one now! We also ate esquite and I purchased some ice cream bars to bring back home. I live in LA so the lady offered to put the ice cream bars in a bag of ice which totally helped avoid them melting. Their gansito, guayaba & fresa con relleno de lechera bars were my favorite. I bought other flavors but those so far are on my top list. The place is kept pretty clean and presentable & and there is plenty parking parking. It was worth my drive. I enter and there's a couple in their 30s (A) at the register already and a teenage couple in line (B). Couple B let me go ahead since they were deciding. There was nobody else there except the one lady minding the register who doesn't speak much English. Couple A take forever to pay. I guess they're trying to argue some coupon with the register lady. Stage left, a male worker enters and goes directly to couple B behind me, skipping me altogether like WTF but ok I guess since they did get there before me anyway (even though there's no way for the employee to know that.) Eventually he comes to me and asks me if I speak Spanish. I say no. He walks away without another word. Rude! Turns out he speaks negative English if that is possible. 15 minutes pass and I'm going back and forth between the store and the window to make sure my dog is still outside tied to the garbage can and nobody dognapped her. Couple A is still at the register. I'm getting pissed. 25 minutes pass, and couple A is still at the register!!! Meanwhile couple B's popsicles MELTED entirely. No clue why only one register is open this whole time and the male employee is just moseying around. At that point I have had enough and go to the front and say "I will pay for their ice cream if it will get them to leave and we can have our ice cream! How much is it?!" And then those asshat customers were actually stoked for me to pay. How cheap are you?! The dude had no shame! The chick all of a sudden hopped on a high horse and refused to take the ice cream. The dude took both of them while saying "it's free ice cream, take it!" And then they had the nerve to sit down at a table and take their time eating it! Well, he did. She didn't touch hers. She was too proud all of a sudden. Finally I did receive my ice cream. It was damnnnn good. Between the cheap asshole customers and the completely aloof and unprofessional staff it was annoying af but still def worth it. 10/10 will go again.
