Got there and right away I saw a roach after starting munching on chips and salsa so it was the only one I took a picture of ,let the waiter know and she just ignored the roach. After the meal was brought another showed up so that was two on the other side and I turn around and had another roach friend beside me.Let them know and they still made me pay 25 dollars after only eating one taco and telling them about the roaches on my booth! Good service. The food is very good and they serve big, good margaritas. Chips and hot sauce r fresh and homemade. My husband got the cheese enchiladas. Scraped his plate so they were good. I got the mixed nacho plate. I like when they serve individual nachos with all the stuff instead of just a pile of chips with whatever dumped on it. We did not go in (went through drive thru) so I can't comment on the ambiance. Prices are too high. $18.72 for sour cream chicken enchiladas with shredded chicken, which was not good & too salty. Chile Relleno $16.64, which was only okay. As one reviewer said, he felt like he was paying for the remodel. Also, chips did not come with the meal! They were extra. My wife and I eat every Saturday for lunch. The service is great. The food has been exceptional. The premium margarita which you get to choose your own type of tequila. Their drinks, which were once just okay, are now impressive both in taste and presentation. I tried the Pain Killer from the menu--it was so good, it made me forget the cost of fixing my car! The service was fantastic; our waitress was talkative and friendly, contributing to the great chilled vibe of the place. The tortillas were handmade, a definite plus, and the carne asada was nicely seasoned. I had the chicken fajitas, which came with rice, frijoles charros, salad, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Hi yall! This was my and my boyfriends first time going to this restaurant and we definitely be back! The ambiance was very bright and colorful, which was a nice touch! Service was quick and nice! Food menu was a little overwhelming at first but was so good! Salsa was not go spicy and chips were very warm. I got fish tacos (which were delicious!) and my boyfriend got chicken enchiladas (he rated them 6/10). Only qualm with his meal was that the rice/beans kind of fishy but i personally did not taste any fishyness. We get breakfast tacos from here every couple of weeks and they are delicious. Get both the red salsa and the green salsa. They are both great. The bacon tacos are a family favorite, but the sausage is also good. The pineapple agua fresca is light, cold, not overly sweet. The horchata is smooth and creamy. The outdoor seating area has ceiling fans and plenty of well spaced tables. The road noise from Waco Drive can beat bit loud, but that's not the restaurant's fault. I just had the most horrible margarita of my life! As soon as I tasted it, I realized this. I immediately requested a beer instead but they refused to give me one and even threatened to refuse service. They said I still had to pay for it which I immediately did, of course. I would never go here again. All that I said was that , for me, the margarita was too sweet and that I would like one made from scratch. Then, they said... these are all made from scratch. Then, she asked another person if she could make one from scratch and that person said no that they couldn't make them from scratch. Sometimes the meat is a little scary and the standard larded-up refried beans can be a little much. But that mainly testifies to how often I eat here. On the Corner of 17th and Waco this place does in fact offer real Mexican food. I regularly attend this place and get the mini tacos al pastor which bring me back to Acapulco every time. Also: good carne guisada, bottled mexican coke, and horchata. My favorite Mexican place in Waco. I have gone with friends that have got sick stomachs though. My family and I went to this restaurant last night hoping to finally find some good Mexican food in Waco. We are from Arizona and have had plenty of good Sonoran style Mexican food but unfortunately this place was not even close. We went safe and ordered carne asada burritos, mini tacquitos and beef enchiladas. The carne asada burritos had full slices of tomatoes in them, lettuce and chunks of avocado which was supposedly their "guacamole". It honestly tasted more like a wrap then a burrito. The meat was dry and didn't have much flavor besides salt. The mini tacquitos were more like mini tacos. I was expecting something like a rolled taco which is my experience when ordering a tacquito but it was just small cantina style tacos which had the same dry meat. Their salsa tastes like canned tomatoes and has no heat to it. We were very disappointed. Their chips were fresh and they were very friendly but based on the price and quality of the food we received we won't be going again. read more
