This is a food truck located on the corner of Crenshaw Blvd. And Marine Ave. in front of a 7-11 gas station and car wash. When I've ordered from El Chiapas Tacos in the past, it was an orange colored food truck. This time around, it was a blue colored one with a focus on seafood. I've grown to really like the carnitas tacos at El Chiapas and fortunately this blue colored truck still sold those. I got a plate of three carnitas tacos with beans and rice. I topped them with cilantro and onions, which you get at their self serve station. The tacos were delicious. The service was nice and quick as usual. I was a little disappointed with my experience this time around. They didn't have the pina agua fresca that I usually order with my food. Also, the truck was parked right in front of the car wash (it used to be parked in front of the gas station). The car wash was so noisy that it was difficult to order the food. That being said, I'll continue to come back to this place when I get a craving for good carnitas tacos. Where they can park is probably out of their control. read more

I've been coming to El Chiapas Tacos for a while now and they seriously never miss. Every single time the food is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can tell they don't cut corners. There's no pricing anywhere! It's hard to know what you will be charged as the prices seem to fluctuate. I asked them how much Lengua was and was charged a higher price than I was told. Definitely misleading... The food was fine and I appreciated being able to add my own toppings and sauce but the price deception left a bitter taste to my meal. I wasn't the only one there who felt skimped on as an argument broke out at the food truck over the same issue but for another dish. Anyway, bring your own water. No set pricing for the menu. I ordered a fish & shrimp burrito on DoorDash it was $16.00, ordered in person and it was $18. I told the guy, as well as showed him what I paid previously. He brushed it off as if it was nothing. I do believe they have pricing issues by not including all prices for items on the menu. Potentially should take the time to price out everything. Versus up charging people when they feel like it. This was also no DoorDash promotion, it was their price. The fish & Shrimp burrito is good but.. Randomly pulling over when you spot a taco truck and the tacos are DELICIOUS (drooling with happiness). Was just riding around with friends when we saw this truck and I ordered the chicken and steak tacos. There were so many sauces to choose from that's the one red flag that I take accountability for forgetting to snap the photo. Customer service was as good as a food truck could get. Tried all their tacos and the best in my humble opinion is the Carne Asada which is why it is earning the 4 stars! We keep going back as oir taste buds desire when we are unable to go to our favorite far away location. El Chiapas is a short drive and a solid choice for $2 asada tacos served on fresh tortillas. Tonight I stopped by to eat a few tacos. I ordered tacos de tripita and specifically asked for them to be extra crispy, along with some tacos al pastor. When I picked up my order, I noticed the tripitas weren't extra crispy, so I politely let them know. They took my plate back, and after a few minutes they returned it. I then grabbed my tacos al pastor and went back to my table, only to realize they had forgotten to add the pineapple. I walked over to the grill area and asked one of the employees if I could please have some pineapple for my tacos. He said yes and directed me to the pickup window. I waited there, they took my plate, and after a few minutes they handed it back with the pineapple added. As I was eating, I found a hair in my last taco de tripa. To make matters worse, when I reached for one of my tacos al pastor, I noticed another hair on one of the pieces of pineapple. At that point, I was completely disgusted. Either the food preparation area is not being kept clean, or someone handled my food carelessly after I asked for my order to be corrected. I can't say which happened, but finding two separate hairs on my food after it was taken back twice is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me that this will be my last time eating there. read more

Their menu is large with your every day tacos, burritos, and the unique option of various mariscos and chilaquiles. Lots of protein options as well. If you have a specific craving then they likely have it. I choose a trio of tacos as my baseline and was pleasantly surprised. Tacos were tasty but nothing exceptional. There was a cold bar with various salsas and pickled veggies. The tacos were $6 for the 3... such a great price. This is the most expensive and worst Shrimp cocktail I've ever had might as well have received a soup. At $21 I at least expected this to be colder than today's temperature which was *67. Food was average price. Didn't taste great nor was it really bad. Our food was in fact very greasy. Service was slow. I noticed one of the employees exit the lunch drink, enter a parked sprinter van in the lot. Leave for about 5 mins then return containers of marinated meet. Being that it was 1230 in the morning, and almost all grocery stores are closed. I assume he went to someone's house to get extra meat ‍. The worst pineapple water I've ever had too! The churro guy left around 11pm. So we don't get a chance to try those. The corner was poppn, no issues. We will not be returning to this spot anytime soon read more

Sunday is car wash day and what better thing to do afterwards than treat myself to El Chiapas. I had three mini-tacos, octopus and crab ceviche, and fresh pineapple juice from this very popular food truck. I've never seen this truck not have a line. Service was awesome. I had originally ordered a fish ceviche but they'd run out so they made me a totally delightful substitute. I ate it right there sitting at a common use table set up on the roadside smiling and talking to all the other people who were there. I just love the ambiance of community you get here if you take the time to slow down and feel the moment. I come here for their carne asada fries and their quesa birria tacos. The carne asada fries are a shareable portion with a good amount of avocado. I love adding some onions, cilantro, avocado green salsa, and some of the habanero sauce. Their quesatacos are delicious and even better with their consome. Bomb bomb bomb... the quesitacos are FIRE. We ordered 28 regular asada and al pastor, 4 qusitacos and the sopa de birria. We loved the quísticos so much we went back for more - yes more lol. Ordered up more quistacos and the birria. Service was amazing, friendly staff and super quick. When we got there it was empty and 10 mins after it got busy, locals mentioned this is the best and cleanest taco truck. My sister lived near by so I'll be stopping by again. Btw we weren't the only ones who went back for seconds, a gentleman was ordering and I overheard him say man came back for more lol so that's just how great it is. I ordered meats like noah on the ark, two of every animal - and boy, did they get on the boat. Chorizo, cabeza, lengua, suadero, tripitas, asada, al pastor, chicharrón, and an horchata. All were really good except the chorizo. It tasted like they scraped the dirt from under the truck and added some grease for flavor. I'm certain it was the scrapings from the grease trap.
