It was a chilly, cloudy day today and I took my mom to Vaquero, and we had their caldo de res--beef soup with big chunks of potatoes, carrots, and super tender beef. I loaded it up with spanish rice, onions, cilantro, lemon and chili. I didn't try the pozole today, but it's always a hit, and the menudo is great too--just ask for hominy since it doesn't come with it. And those corn tortillas? This place has been a go-to for good Mexican food for several years. It can be tricky getting parked during the height of the lunch rush, but their food is first rate and the service is friendly and quick. The dining room is small but decorated to fit the restaurant's name, complete with leather chaps and vest in a frame on the wall! What you want is the food though...on this particular day I had the fish soft tacos combo plate and it didn't disappoint. The tacos were on point, fish grilled nicely and with a nice spicy kick. This used to be a place that I would give five stars, but in recent months it has become less welcoming and inattentive to customer requests. The food is still good - I really like their beef birria - and the portion size is very generous. However, my wife hates guacamole and wanted only sour cream; her burrito came with guacamole and no sour cream. This in not the first time this has happened. I said 'No salsa' and got salsa, and when ordering take-out 'No plastic utensils' and still got them. The service is not as friendly as in previous times as well. There is not a smile or often even a 'hello' or 'welcome'. I understand that being at the front counter at a place that does a lot of take-out is not an exciting job, but part of the goal should be welcoming the customers and making them want to come back. read more

This restaurant is an example of bad customer service can overshadow good food. The food is good here. Unfortunately my most recent experience was horrible. I ordered food and spent about $70. I got all the way home and was missing part of the order (I asked them if they had double checked the order before I left). I called them on my way about the missed order. When they checked, it turns out the girl who took my order never charged me for it. However, she recalled that I had ordered it. This is where the easiest thing to say is "I'm sorry..." what do they say? "It will be $15.86, do you want it or not?" Sad that she reviewed my receipt, saw that I paid $70 and had to drive back, and confirmed that it was their miss, but couldn't bring themselves to issue an apology. Searched up Pazole' near where I work and this place popped up. I looked at the pictures and it looked like a good bowl of Pazole'. The reviews weren't the best but after eating here I don't know why not. This place was a very nice little restaurant. They have an A on their front window which is great. And let me tell you the Pazole was delicious and the service was great. I ordered a large Diet Coke and they have a fountain machine, but the lady filled the Coke for me and brought it to me. I thought that was very nice. They have complementary chips and salsa also. So this is definitely two thumbs up. read more

If you want decent Mexican food not a bad spot. Breakfast is decent and machaca burritos aren't bad. I used to come here for solid micheladas but apparently they no longer serve alcohol. Their menudo is solid on the weekends, but the service is generally hit or miss. You can tell that the workers are either friends or family and generally don't care, depending on the day. I've ate here in person and order pretty regularly as a last resort. There's been times when I've picked up orders and I've heard the cooks complain in Spanish when I ask for salsa or drop comments in general. No sean babosos hablo español también. No wonder they charge you up front. I would have walked out of the establishment had I known I would be served cold rice and dry , hard beans in stryofoam plates. News flash, you can buy paper plates at SAMS CLUB across the street instead of cutting a to go styrofoam plate. This mexican grill is all you need for a saturday lunch. They have almost everything on the menu and prices are fair. Enchilads were extremely tasty and the goat birria had nice broth to it. I took a look at the menu and I was drawn to try the pozole. While ordering I ask what is the best meat?... the cashier recommended the chicharron taco. It sounded good so I ordered one. Once I sat down the waitress brought some chips and salsa. Let me tell you that salsa was soooooo good!! Super flavorful. Actual salsa not crushed tomato and a few onions. Real homemade salsa. Then my order came in. The pozole was nice and hot, super flavorful, full of meat and Maiz (hominy). 9/10. But when I tried the chicharron taco !!!! Let me tell you, I was in heaven hahaha. The handmade tortilla was nice and hot, the meat was steamy, then they added onion and cilantro and their red taco salsa. It was sooo delicious I had to order more. I am happy I don't have to drive far for really good tacos. If you like spicy salsa and fresh tortillas come here!!! Don't get discouraged on the bad reviews about uncomfortable booths, or styrofoam plates cut in half like I read. You're not going to eat the plate or stay in the booth all day. This place is about real Mexican food. Real flavors. The fancy booth and fancy plates can come later. This place just started after the pandemic.
