G's Empire Tacos was definitely the most "looks can deceive" review. Tucked in a little strip mall, it serves amazing and authentic mexican food for one of the best values I've ever seen. I stopped by for Taco Tuesday, as of writing, they have a couple of meats, Al Pastor, Pollo, Ground Beef, and so on. They were only 1.65. That is insane in this economy. And they're sized good as well! They offer complimentary consomme and a little salsa bar with ample seating on the inside. I got 3 Al Pastor tacos and they definitely did not disappoint. They were amazing for sure. Service was great as well! Quick, fast, and efficient, they got my food out and served it table-style. Kathia? (I hope I'm spelling it right) was kind and took my order. If you're always on the hunt for El Taurino and King Taco in the South Bay, this is the closest I've found. The tacos are tasty and the salsa is perfectly thick and spicy. We're talking those basic small soft tacos with carne asada, onions, and cilantro on homemade tortilla. That's all we usually get, my husband eats 8 in one sitting, lol. Take your money elsewhere. Such an awful experience today. It's clear that they have fake 5 star reviews, the wording of those reviews is generic and transparent and most likely from friends. This is about the fourth time I've purchased food from this place. I've really tried to give them a chance. Today was just a total joke. I ordered something simple One quesabirria and a small consome soup. The taco meat was not shredded, why? Because it was all fat. They plopped one big piece of fat and tried to mask it with cheese. The sauce didn't even have any flavor. The side order of consome was actually the worst part. It was the size of a side order of salsa - the container was meant for a condiment not for soup. But the kicker was, they only filled it halfway. When I got home to eat, I had to just throw everything out. I called the restaurant, not to get a refund, but to explain to the young lady that took my order that whoever prepared it did a horrible job. She continued to explain to me that the container that holds the soup is only filled halfway every time so that it doesn't spill. I told her that's the purpose of the lid. And that the soup tasted like water. The container is tiny to begin with. The whole experience was just disappointing and their lack of attention and need to remedy the bad experience tells me they don't care. They won't last there with that type of attitude and the rent for that space is not cheap. Good luck to them I hope they do better to their future customers. read more

After running an errand in the area, G's popped up on Yelp and it did not disappoint. Conveniently located in a plaza with plenty of parking, G's was not hard to find. Upon entering, it was plenty busy for 11am on a rainy day (a good sign.) I was pleasantly surprised they offered $1.25 tacos for Taco Tuesday ! In addition, they offer this special on Thursdays and Sundays! I ordered two asada and two al pastor tacos. After ordering, I helped myself to the salsa/condiment bar which had many of the usual suspects (red, green and an avo salsa along with limes.) The tacos came out freshly cooked and were served on heated yellow corn tortillas. The meats were well seasoned and topped with onions, cilantro and red sauce. I've been on a taco crawl all over LA the past few years and these rival some of the best around. While scarfing down my tacos, I was looking over the handwritten whiteboard menu and noticed that they offered complimentary consome. How awesome is that?! This along with the fact I skipped dinner the night before prompted me to order two birria tacos which along with the consome totally hit the spot .
