Could only run a minimum amount a electrical components to not blow the breaker. The water was a hose from a sit about 70 ft away and it has a hole in it, so was worthless. The sites were overgrown, as well as the whole campground. There were permanent campers there and there sights were full of garbage. The sites were significantly over priced, and its obvious they dont care cuz they are pretty much the only option for visitors to the Ark adventure. If i were to go to the ark adventure again, id stay in Cincinnati and drive.

Not only was the hotel incredible, but everyone we met throughout Paris, Kentucky, was exceptionally kind and welcoming. It felt like we were surrounded by friends everywhere we went. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The rooms were top-notch--beautifully appointed, spotless, and full of character. The horse and horse-racing theme throughout the hotel perfectly captures the spirit of Kentucky and adds a unique charm that makes this boutique hotel truly special. We originally came to Paris to visit a friend in rehab and chose to stay here during our trip. What we didn't expect was to leave with so many new friendships and wonderful memories. The hospitality we experienced was second to none. My wife and I will absolutely be returning, and if we can reserve a room at The Thoroughbred Hotel again, we won't hesitate. Next time, we're bringing our travel companions along because we're certain they'll love it every bit as much as we did. Other staff was extremely helpful in answering questions and helping us with luggage. Parking was a breeze with streetside unloading spots and then a shared adjacent lot for our stay. This was a clean campground with plenty for kids to do. The pool was very clean and I saw the lifeguard check the chemicals multiple times. For adults, theres a nice little bar. Definitely no complaints there! But, what stood out for my friend and I, was the exceptional customer service. And while I won't go into details, we found ourselves in a situation and the owners went way above and beyond to help us out! We couldn't be any more grateful for their kindness to us strangers! I enjoyed the Whispering Hills RV Park and its location. There are plenty of places around the park to just sit and enjoy a book. Some sites offer fires, but ours didn't. There are two laundry locations, but they only have a few washers and dryers. That's not enough when the park has 230 sites. Expect to wait for one to open. You do have a picnic table, but it's time to repair them. They did add in their flyer to call if you have an issue with your picnic table. You mow and clean up your site after someone stays, so you should already see any table issues. When I get to a site I've already spent many hours driving and don't want to call with any issues. I want to set up, relax, and enjoy the amenities. The property is very clean and well managed. They have an employee take you to your site and assist you in pulling in. We would definitely stay here again!!

The sandwiches and cupcakes were DELICIOUS! The next morning our breakfast included a croissant with some kind of blueberry compote and cheese filling with crisp bacon. OMG! The homemade food at Charred Oakes is worth the stay. What a lovely time in a beautiful BnB with very gracious hosts.

My friends ordered egg rolls, which actually looked pretty good (I'd say a solid 4/5), and Singapore noodles, which unfortunately looked underwhelming. Overall, there are a few bright spots, especially the soup, but the food quality and atmosphere were inconsistent. So spacious yet so warm. Great for a event or like us a vacation that is so relaxing. Pool is a huge reason we booked this for our vacation but hoping the home would be historic and charming and it exceeded our expectations. 4 1/2 baths and 3 bedrooms but so many more rooms. If you need TV's in rooms not the right pick but if you are like us if you want history and relaxing in a beautiful home than this is it. It really is such a gem and you can see it in every room. Thank you to the Barr family who welcomed us in to their home. ( and how sweet they shopped some basics for us before we got here). Eggs, bread, milk etc.
