This little taco truck is right in front of a dingy and dirty bar for dirt cheap drinks and smart for this business because once they're drunk they can purchase tacos from them. This place doesn't have a price on their truck and when asked it almost felt like the lady was annoyed. I then spoke Spanish to her, just to show her I'm no gringa. I asked to try out their carne asada and its the best thing ever!!! Made with homemade tortilla, carne, cilantro and onions with limes... I had an party in my mouth. Idk what is up with Denver CO but this place seems to not like black people. Idk same attitude was given just at the other location. Bad customer service but the food was great. Would I come back, Hell yeah! Next time if the attitude is given and I'm going to give it back.

very under filled quesabirria, come with the smallest amount of meat and they refused to make it right. decent taste but wouldn't waste the money here again if that's how the food comes out. Most of them looked like this

Semi decent food truck. Location is off Colfax. The service was friendly, but we seemed to wait a while for our tacos. There wasn't too much ambiance. Kicking myself for not getting pictures!

I got the quesabirria tacos and they were pretty delicious. The order came with 3 tacos which were decent size, consome, and a red and green sauce. The limes were unfortunately a little dry. I wish they would allow ordering a la carte tacos. I ordered for pickup and it took 30 minutes longer than quoted. The food truck is at a convenient location to me so I will definitely return to try other items on the menu. I will make sure to allow extra time for them to prepare the food so I'm not awkwardly standing on the busy street of Colfax.

Not pictured were the Quesabirrias which are fantastic! I basically drank the Consome and added the green sauce all over my tacos. Takes about 10 minutes after ordering at the food truck and always comes packaged up with the sauces.

Why Matt, why? You've lived a half mile away from El Consome De Morelos for nearly a year. You've driven by the food truck over 150 times. What the hell took you so long to try it? On behalf of myself, I would like to apologize to my stomach, my appetite and my mouth. This food truck is like the little engine that could, dishing bomb Mexican food for under $10. For the longest time I thought it was a tamale truck. After finally stepping up to the plate, it's legit Latin food with a Denver flare. Tacos, smothered burritos, breakfast burritos, pupusas, consome, quesadillas. I went on an exhausting 7 mile hike and I knew like the back of my hand that I needed a smothered burrito. The best part, they serve Barbacoa! FTW, that's rare. And damn, was this giant burrito that ran me $8 was a home run. Soft burrito, perfectly tender Barbacoa, and all the gooey melty cheese you dream about. This will not be my last time here. They are parked here pretty much every day outside The Viking Bar. Whatchu waiting for?!

3.5 stars! Pretty tasty tacos, and I liked the salsas. Worth a stop if you're craving tacos and in the area. The meat was reasonably flavorful, I loved the cheesiness, and the price is more than fair. They also don't skimp on the portion sizes, so a great spot if you're very hungry. With that said, I'm going to be a little harsh and admit that out of all the 4 different spots I've had birria tacos this year, these were the bottom of the heap. This year, I've had Kiké's red tacos in Denver, "La Unica" in LA, Kalaka Mexican Kitchen in Evergreen, CO, and El Consomé de Morelos on Colfax. These were the unfortunately the weakest of the four for a few reasons: - The best quesabirria tacos have one thing in common: crispy tortilla. El Consomé de Morelos unfortunately does not have the crispy shell, which docks it a bit ("Kiké's" and "La Unica" in LA absolutely nail this). - Out of all four consomé spots I've been, el consomé de morelos had the least flavorful and most watery consomé. This is the only consomé that neither my wife and I chose to drink / finish after eating the tacos. - Meat was NOT BAD at all, but was the least flavorful of the four. I definitely WOULD go back here, don't get me wrong, and I wish I could give 3.5 instead of 3. But I've also got to be honest, these are not the best birria in town.

Wow. I've tried a few Birria tacos and these are by far one of the best ones. So fresh and amazing. The birria broth is to die for. We actually saved it and made birria ramen when we got home. It's a tiny little food truck but don't let the looks take away from the quality of the food.

After visiting Mexico, I was curious to see where I could find affordable and delicious tacos in Denver, and I did! Located inconspicuously as a food truck on colfax, el consome has tacos for $2.50 with onions, cilantro, and salsa. We ordered right away and there was little line on a Saturday night. The food came out in 5-10mins which was perfect because you know they were made fresh to eat. The taste was so authentic to what I had just had in Ensenada Baja Norte just the week before We ordered the carne asada, barbacoa, and carnitas tacos! Definitely swing by for a great eat!

(English below) - Okay this place is seriously super delicious. Ordered online and it was ready within 15 minutes. The sauces tasted amazing. The food itself was super tasty. It's a food truck right off of Colfax. This is a spot you definitely have to check out. It has 5 stars for a reason. I will 1000% be returning!

SO YUMMY! I've have birria several times, but never had I had birria that was SO incredibly tender and savory. I absolutely loved the spicy orange/red salsa on both the quesabirria and the torta. It added just the right amount of heat. The torta was stuffed with so many delicious fillings and the bread was soft and fresh. Would highly recommend giving this place a try!

This place fills up 60 days in advance, without fail! When we arrived, we were able to get parking about a block away on the street. We were soon greeted and guided to our seats upon walking in. This is a very small restaurant - only a few tables, not many options for big groups, and some bar seating both inside and outside. I can see why the reservations are in such high demand! We were recommended to get 4-5 small plates, so we decided on the Guacamole Alma, Burrito de Frijoles Puerco, Apache en su Jugo, and Enmolada de Pato. We also shared the hibiscus margarita and Mex 75. The drinks came out first - the hibiscus margarita was so refreshing, light and delicious! We weren't as big fans of the Mex 75 - but if you like smoky drinks this is the one for you. The guacamole came out first - it was tangy and tasty. I will say that the other dishes were a lot more unique. The burrito was a standout - we absolutely loved the homemade sourdough tortilla, one of the best we've ever tasted. The chorizo filling was savory and tasty. The Apache en su Jugo was unique and had a lovely flavor - if you are a beef tartare fan this is a wonderful dish to try! The enmolado de pato came out last and we thoroughly enjoyed the mole and flavor. This is definitely worth checking out. I will say as a Houston native we have several restaurants with similar flavors and slightly lower price tags and wait times, so I am a bit spoiled in that regard. But all in all the service is wonderful, it's a pleasure to try so many different and unique dishes, and the joy of snagging a reservation is worth it!

It comes out as a pure perfection, the house cocktails are unique above all is the avocado margarita, which is one of the exotic cocktails of all. Staff are extremely professional, not too friendly, not too cold, just the right amount of politeness to make one comfortable. For my fellow Denver folks, you have to visit this place to experience contemporary Mexican dishes, which, by the way, most of them taste more towards a comfortable level of spicy.

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar.
