He was able to fix it in no time (within an min or 2) and didn't charge me. The clasp was loose and wouldn't lock. It is much appreciated as I have absolutely no idea where to take costume jewelry to fix. He did indicated that it may not be fixable but very glad he did. Garen was very upfront, professional, and confident. He explained that he would be using laser welding, which helped minimize heat exposure to the opal, and that gave me a lot more confidence leaving the ring with him. I went to the store yesterday and said I was here for a watch repair and watch battery replacement and they told me they don't do either of those things and told me to go elsewhere. Being treated well by a Jewler is even more rare. This was different at JAJ. First, Long (the owner) is transparent in doing business. He explains all of the factors in buying a diamond. He took it one step further. When he asked me if I knew what my wife wanted, I replied no. He respectfully said, "don't buy anything!" "If you get something she doesn't like, it will go into a drawer and won't be seen." Who gives advice like that? Long is not interested in scoring a quick sale. He wants to build relationships and not burn bridges. I bought a my wife a beautiful rose gold wedding band. When it needed to be adjusted, Long fixed it without hesitation. When I ordered a custom ring for myself, Long said he would do it right and take his time. The finished product is amazing! If you want things done well, they take time. You can see it in the quality. When a friend of mine had a shattered ring that no one could repair, Long was able to put it back together piece by piece! This was a 100 year old family ring that came from South Africa and had sentimental value. The result is in the pictures!
