Had dinner here last Wednesday. The food was excellent and the service was great. Prices are reasonable and portions are large.

My husband and I love Mexican food. This was not a place I'll go again. I got the #12 combo - Chile rellano, beef tamale and beef taco. The Chile rellano was good and did taste homemade. The beef tamale was gelatinous. I took one bite and didn't finish it. I've eaten tamales out of a can and those were better than this one. The beef taco had Italian dressing on it? My husband got Chile verde. This was not good. After trying to figure it out, we believe the sauce was green enchilada sauce and Italian dressing. The pork was tender but everything else was just wrong about it. The flour tortillas tasted like store bought mission tortillas. When the server asked if everything was okay, yes, everything was just okay. The server was good and kept our drinks full. I wouldn't recommend going here though. 36 hours later - this was the only thing I ate yesterday and I've had food poisoning symptoms since last night. Not severe, but definitely have not felt good for 24 hours. read more

We had a great meal here knowing what we were actually going to get. Some of the best Mexican food I've had in years. Service was great and prompt. The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. Can't wait to go back there again. read more

We were driving through Nephi and we were excited to try this restaurant after reading some Yelp! reviews. I did not like this place at all. The server was nice, but the food was not good (see photo and you'll know exactly why). They wouldn't allow our 18-month-old son to use a high chair because they said they didn't want to sanitize it again after he used it. We dealt with that as long as we could before we told the server that if our son couldn't use a high chair then we'd leave. The manager came out and reluctantly let us use one. (For context, this is in May 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.) I have not seen any other restaurants with a high chair restriction during this time and it seems to me that it would be a much higher liability for a restaurant to not allow a high chair use for a toddler, rather than waiting till a toddler falls off a chair and cuts his/her eye open and needs stitches to repair it. The food came out and we were SHOCKED that the Mac & cheese had a ziploc bag over it on the plate. Gross. I got the fajita and my food tasted like the pan had never been washed. I would recommend that people stay away from this place. I'm sorry. I enjoy supporting local businesses, but this one doesn't seem fit to be operating. read more

Walked in and ordered 2 shredded beef tacos with beans and rice to go. A very short time later my order was ready. The food was very good. My expectations were low since the reviews were not that good and I'm in Nephi Utah. The only shocker was I asked for their hottest salsa or hot sauce and all they had was packets of Cholula. Not the end of the world, but surprised me that they didn't have any fresh hot salsa. Maybe because I got it to go? Not sure. Regardless, I would go back and eat there again. Ordered the Beef Enchilada combo as well as a kids quesadilla. They offered the quesadilla fried which I have never seen being offered before in my extensive quesadilla consumption history . Overall the food was decent. It didn't blow my mind by any means but it certainly hit the spot. The meal came with a small plate of tortilla chips and salsa. Salsa was decent with a little bit of spice. FYI they do NOT offer any alcohol sales (not that it matters but I figured it was worth mentioning). The staff was friendly and the order was timely. i have been coming to El Dorado at least once a week for the last three years. First off, let me say that the staff here is unpredictable to say the least. we have been in here several times and gotten an older skinny lady as our waitress and she has on multiple different occasions seemed very...off while working. By "off" i mean she seemed to me like she was doing some kind of drugs. the food is cheap in price, and cheap in quality. read more

I love this type of little Mexican spot. They all have similarities, and all have some subtle nuances that make them interesting. We had to stop in Nephi on a roadtrip, and popped in here. It wasn't too busy, but it took a while for someone to emerge from the kitchen to seat us, and another good block of time to get someone to take our order. I wished they'd spent more time making the food though, because what we got was just not good. The kid got some taquitos that seemed either stale or very fresh styrofoam. My fajitas were less terrible, but still underwhelming. read more

What a gem. If you get to stop here the food is great, the staff is charming and the prices are more than reasonable. I believe you can learn a lot about a restaurant by how they execute their cuisine's signature dishes (even the seemingly simple things). Coming from LA I was hesitant when I walked in but Their guacamole is one of the better ones I've ever had - that alone was worth the 8h drive from LA. For main had the carne asada tacos which were terrific as well. Can't recommend it enough!! read more

I ordered my food for take out. I ordered nachos, and chilaquilas. The order took much longer than expected, but it was dinner time and although the inside wasn't full, there may have been other called in orders (except the waitress answered the phone while I was standing there, set it down and forgot about it). When my food was brought out to me, I took it home. Once home, I noticed I was given nachos and a quesadilla (which I did not order). I didn't want to drive back, hoped just maybe next time I was in I could be given the chilaquilas for free that I had already paid for. I called repeatedly to a busy signal with no luck (guess the phone is still sitting off the hook). As far as the food. The nachos weren't good. I'd never order or recommend them to anyone. I asked for chicken to be added to the chilaquilas and I'm sure it was a mistake, but the chicken was added to the quesadilla I didn't order. That however, was very good. I would recommend a chicken quesadilla from here. I just won't be ordering from here again to enjoy it. I'm in town for another week and the other Mexican restaurant provided much better food and results. If I need more Mexican food, I'd go that route. read more

Horrible service. They only have 1 waitress for 8-10 tables. She messed up my order but, because the waitress was so busy I just let it go. We asked for silverware several times and she just told us to grab some off another table. Our food wasn't very good either. We asked for our check and after waiting 10 min. we walked up to the counter. We won't be coming back. read more

We ordered the consuelo platter which was described as big enough for 3 people. Skeptics we were quite surprised by the large platter we were served. Unfortunately the steak and chicken were not edible due to very poor quality meat and preparation. Weirdly the shrimp were ok. In the end we each ate a bite of our $23 platter and a few bites of beans before we paid and left to eat dinner elsewhere. If you like Mexican food, really any food at all, I suggest you keep driving and eat somewhere else. read more

Nice little place. Decent food, fair prices, good service. They start you out with picture of ice water which I love because I drink lots of it and hate to wait in my server to fetch more for me. One more huge thing, the restrooms were spotless. However the door to the men's wouldn't close all the way and was stuck when I wanted out. Don't be shallow like I was, I initially overlooked this little restaruant and went to the latest and greatest up the street. I eventually decided to stop by and at least grab my wife and I a little dinner. As soon as I walked through the door i was pleasantly surprised. I recieved a warm greeting from the hostess, the place was clean and had a welcoming atmoshere. I ordered 2 coffees , beef tacos and a bean and beef burrito. I ordered to go and was given a large bag of chips and good amount of very good salsa. My wife gave the tacos high ratings and my burrito was very good, the coffee was also good. The prices were very good. This is one place that will be on my visit again list. I can't wait to taste what they offer for breakfast. read more

Came here with some friends service was so-so, made sure you always had chips and salsa though. Food was dissapointing ordered a few gas burritos not worth the $9 it was small and cold and missing an ingredient or two. This was the single worst Tex Mex I've ever had. It was not authentic, the meat tasted canned, the portion sizes were ridiculously small, the rice was flavorless, the beans were too salty and runny, the salsa had no texture at all, and when I pulled open my "enchilada" there was seriously only a couple of pieces of meat inside the tortilla. It would have been funny if we hadn't had to pay for it. This was not worth the price, there was no flavor, no texture, it was really awful, and I don't recommend this to anyone. We were hesitant to eat here after reading some of the reviews but the food was great! Loved the chips & salsa. They made sure we always had some. The service was awesome! We ordered shredded beef enchiladas (should have asked for flour tortillas because the corn tortillas were a little think for my taste) & a shredded beef taco.
