I pick up from here during the week sometimes and they deliver. Food is like home comfort food. They have great soups and vegetable purées (Crema de malanga o calabaza) along with daily specials. Awesome sandwiches, croquettes, empanadas, juices, salads including avocado salad with it without tuna or chicken salad. And if you want a hearty meal, can't go wrong with vaca Frita or milanesa. We loved our server. The fried pork (crispy on the outside and so tender and yummy inside!) Sunday special dinner! Fried plantains were scrumptious and the rice w/beans were delicious. What happened to this place? Used to be best place to order Cuban food but now it's trash. I gave up on their hot dishes a few months ago but felt like getting a Cuban sandwich today. I wish I lived near this restaurant! I order Cantina for my parents every week - Cantina is Delivery of hot meals in AM or PM, Monday-Friday for a set (very low ;) price. They give you a menu to choose from & you get a main dish AND 1 or 2 side dishes right to your door!! My parents don't cook anymore & I live too far to get there every day and Rinconcito's food is wonderful!! I am seriously considering moving to Miami just for this delicious delivery service. Due to logistics and having to catch a plane home, we couldn't get over to Little Havana for our first choice of Cuban restaurants. However, this spot worked for us during a last minute pinch for our Cuban craving. We ordered a pastry, cafe con leche, and Cubano coffee to start. This was delicious and gave us a much needed caffeine jolt. For entrees I ordered a Miami sandwich and my BF had the Cubano sandwich. My Miami sandwich was absolutely delicious, it was basically a club sandwich but perfect. Just enough mayo and the perfect bite each time. The Cubano wasn't great and I was surprised. You'd think it would be the other way around at a Cuban restaurant. Also, there weren't any pickles on it and I'm pretty sure that is a missing ingredient on a Cubano sandwich. Odd. What an amazing lunch! The menu, staff, and food were all amazing (plus it's a great price). We had a group of four and were seated and served quickly. My go to Cuban breakfast! Fast, delicious. And cheap. The best cafe con Leche. The servers are all very nice. I never have to wait for a table. Admittedly, I am reviewing this based on what my sister-in-law told me because bf and I got the food to-go for her. When we got inside, we noticed that though not packed at all (maybe 2 or 3 tables with approximately 7-8 diners in total), there was a live band and singer, providing a nice, Latin backdrop. We were greeted and given a menu, after being told that take-out orders take about 10 minutes. I believe it was a Saturday night and the daily special was Vaca Frita, which is SIL's favorite dish, coincidentally. Indeed, the wait was as described and while waiting, we enjoyed the live entertainment and I peered at the refrigerated case of desserts. I saw arroz con leche, various flans, tres leches cake and dulce de leche. Not sure if you have tried Cuban dulce de leche, but it is completely different from the caramel-like variety. This dessert is basically caramelized milk curds. It sounds weird, but I actually prefer it. SIL said that the vaca frita, along with congri (white rice/black beans side) and maduros (ripe, sweet fried plantains) was good. Not the best she had ever had, but tasty enough that she ate the whole white styrofoam box of food (which had a very generous amount). Thr dulce de leche was where this meal fell short. It was too sweet in her opinion, especially when compared to her mom's version, which had less sugar than usual. Bf and I have had the dulce de leche from El Palacio de los Jugos and loved it. He said it was very reminiscent of their mother's and comparing the color, the one from Rinconcito Cubano Criollo was darker and just looked sweeter to me. This restaurant has overcharged my credit card four times over the last couple months (and previously but I have already discarded the prior receipts). When I was last there, I asked to speak to the manager and she and another staff member immediately became defensive and argumentative. In my experience, this is pretty telling and a typical guilty reaction. Simple math concludes that if 100 tables are overcharged daily, a "skimming operation" can easily reach over a thousand dollars a month. Unfortunately, this is not my first time experiencing this in Miami. Moreover, unfortunately, I was not able to get the names of the two employees since they immediately became confrontational, but it was a Central America indigenous looking woman not dressed in uniform and a short Central America indigenous looking man in a polo with the restaurant logo. In addition to probable associated guilt, they are not intelligent, because instead of resolving this issue in a rational and constructive way, the result is this review, a formal complaint submitted to Miami-Dade Police and losing a customer. I strongly recommend for anyone that pays with a credit card to reconcile their receipt with what the restaurant actually charges their credit card and suggest reporting any discrepancies to the Organized Crime Bureau of Miami-Dade Police at the following email: ocbinfo@mdpd.com. read more

I was very disappointed with the service. There was a back and forth with pricing of a 4-day cantina. Then, when I went to pay for it with my debit card, I was informed there was a fee for paying by debit. The cashier made an error with my payment so I paid the remaining total cash. When I asked for my receipt, the cashier informed me that they don't give receipts when paying cash. This made no sense to me. I wasn't thrilled with the whole process. read more

I found this place through a friend and decided to give it a try. The food was actually really good! I have ordered from Rinconcito numerous times and different entree's. They have all been pretty good. The crema de calabaza (pumpkin soup) & malanga (which they haven't had recently) are AWESOME! It comes with a few pieces of Cuban bread lightly coated with butter or olive oil - delicious. I'm not to fond of the croquettes and the empanadas are okay. The vaca frita is great, comes with tons of onions and not very greasy. The bistec empanizado and the grilled chicken breast were both tender and tasty. pollo ala is also very good. All those dishes come with moros, plantains, etc the usual you'll find in any restaurant. I was not impressed with the picadillo so I'd stay away from that dish. Desserts: I've tried the: cuarto leches - ok, too sweet thes leches - really good, sweet but just right flan - really good I have only ordered take out so I don't know how the service is when you dine in but the take out service is great! They go over you order and I've alway received what I ordered. The place is nice, clean and they even have live entertainment on Fri or Sat (not sure what day).
