Well I'm eating my words because this is the second day in a row I have come here after a 2 year strike, haha (don't judge me, we are in the process of moving and needed something fast but filling). Carnitas super burrito and beef rolled tacos were both excellent. My picky 3 year old loved it as much and me and the hubs- not greasy, good flavor, and huge burritos, so they were a good value for the price. Other places around here seem to be in the salty side, but the items we got were full of flavor without being overly salty. I can't speak to the cleanliness of the inside, but the drive thru is convenient. read more

Always delicious! We've catered a few times for retreats we host and always a hit. Don't sleep on this place. The meats are amazing and for 24 hours you can't beat it. My boyfriend went through the drive thru @ 9pm. He ordered a kids quasadilla, 2 street tacos & a burrito. When he got to the window the two people working looked stoned out of their mind & had him repeat the order 3 times. He just got home & they gave us two tacos that were completely taken apart & all over the box, & two burritos that weren't what he ordered. Completely forgot the kids quasadilla. The burrito has "baby" written on the wrapping so unsure what that is about. read more

This place has some yummy food. It can be a hit and miss. The drive thru can take a minute when you order. Inside they get it out quick. My favorite here are the rolled tacos and the breakfast burritos. The breakfast burritos are extremely filling. They are stuff very full. The one thing i didnt like was the chile relleno. I was disappointed in it. Their meat plates are a definite go to. If you just want to make a burrito or taco or just want meat, rice and beans the meat entrees is a good one. I have been there 2 times now. First time we remember it being better. This time wasn't as good, and he accused me of stealing a drink. I clearly asked for a soda and a water when we ordered, little bit of a language barrier maybe, but an honest mistake that should have been handled better. He was combative and wouldn't even listen when I was explaining I asked for a soda and a water. He also didn't hand me any cups when we finished ordering so when I asked for our drinks, as he was walking away, he motioned where to get cups instead of getting them for us. If he had handed me cups it may have gotten sorted then. I did check my receipt and indeed I wasn't charged for a drink so I went and paid for it, but we won't be back. Food wasn't good enough to overcome that type of experience. read more

Great little fast food Mexican restaurant. I was super excited when I saw they opened this. Pretty much like an Adalbertos. I grew up with Adalbertos in my neighborhood and loved it. Always great customer service. Fast to get your order ready and food has always been fresh. Decent prices. Was exactly what I expected. $1.50 crunchy tacos on Sunday! The shredded beef tacos are great! Also the California burrito or Carne Asada fries! I would definitely recommend this place in the future and will be coming back soon! read more

We stopped for a Little gas on the way to South Lake a couple weekends ago. Lo and behold, tacos! Connected to the gas station. My bf and I ordered a few items and decided to take a break from the road. I was surprised that even though we ordered our food to eat there, it was all served in gross, non-recyclable Styrofoam containers. No love for the Earth. BUT everything was really tasty. They even has a little salsa bar on the side (with an outstanding guac based salsa verde!!!) Our carnitas tacos ($3.95) and mini tacos ($2.25) were good, but my fave was the chicken fajita taco ($3.95). BEWARE. They charge you $0.35 for using your credit card but don't have any signs posted saying this. Guess they think because they're connected to Arco it's acceptable? Totally upset to JUST now be seeing this on my receipt. We spent almost $25 on lunch and they sneak in a surprise fee? Wtf is that. read more

It's a small chain of Mexican places around normal, I've been to the Modesto one that's 24/7 and it's not bad. It helped make bad thanksgivings good, and I appreciate the 24/7 aspect. This foresters is the same, but sometimes it is hit or miss like if it's really busy or 4am or a weird time. But, for what it is worth, it is the main things you want in Mexican; cheap, above average, and large portion. Here is my meal for $3.50, under $4 w tax. 2 crispy tacos. Chips. Sauce. Greeted by a friendly worker, we ordered 5 rolled tacos (flautas), 1 asada torta, and 1 chile colorado burrito. The free chips&salsa bar seemed promising but the salsas didn't have much flavor at all. The rolled tacos weren't fried enough and didn't have any seasoning/flavor. We requested for the green salsa and cheese it comes with on the side but they didn't do it. The asada torta didn't have much flavor and had very little meat in it compared to the asada torta at the Forastero on Main St. The chile colorado burrito tasted like nothing, like water. It was a decently sized burrito for the price around 10$ but it had no flavor. Won't come to this Forastero location again, the one on Main St is better. read more

This restaurant is connected to AM/PM gas station. Small diner style, menu is easy to read and they also have photos, which is good. I would have to say mediocre Mexican food don't expect too much. We ordered the mini tacos and Rolled tacos Mini Tacos/Carne: 2.5/5 average flavor was decent but I would have to say at least the meat wasn't dried out. Chicken Rolled Tacos 1/5 presentation was awful! A spoonful of sour cream tooo much! And the cheese?? C'mon it was ridiculously a lot and I hated the wide shredded kind! Everything did not go well together. At least the Rolled taco itself didn't taste bad it's just that once they piled the sour cream ontop there's no way you can get that extra sour cream taste off -_- besides scrapping it off.... So every time I have been here the Birria has been good, sauced with melted cheese and radishes. The is time the served it complete dry no melted cheese and no radish. More like. 3.5 but both BD and the kiddo enjoyed their meals so I rounded up. BD thinks this is the best street taco, even better than Santa Maria which surprised me. I enjoyed their carne asada fries. Huge portion, crispy fries, tasty asada. My fish tacos weren't my favorite. It was over cooked. The crispy tacos with ground beef was under seasoned. But the real winner was.... the freaking carrots in the complimentary pickled veg section of the salsa bar. While I've had pickled veggies before it never tasted like that. Went so well with the heavy lunch! Would love to try their other menus items. Love that they are opened 24/7. They were consistently busy on a slow afternoon after the lunch rush. read more

They do alright here. Half of the time my order is ready on time. Employees are fairly friendly but it's always a toss up of how much of my time they are going to waste by not having my order out on time. For instance, I have been waiting about 15 minutes past the pick up time they gave me. The order should be ready when I walk in, considering they are the ones who create the "pick up by" time. Mainly giving two stars to raise awareness to the managers of this facility to prioritize getting pick up orders ready on time. read more

I was skeptical, as I always am about my Mexican foods, but El Forastero did NOT disappoint! My husband and I were hungry and could not stomach eating drive though for breakfast again (we are moving-no time for home cooked meals at the moment). I ordered the Machaca and my husband ordered the super breakfast burrito. I was stuffed and only got through half of my plate and hubby (who is a good eater) couldn't quite finish his burrito either. Great on customer service, awesome on food quality and quantity. Everything was fresh, even down to the freshly juiced drinks! I'm ordering some fresh OJ next time but had the horchata and was pretty content with my choice. This spot is 30 min from where we are moving to but well worth the drive if the craving arises. Ps: we did the online order ahead and our meal was ready pretty much right when they said it would be if not sooner. Also cant beat the fact that it's got a 24hr drive-thru! read more

I am sitting in the restaurant while I am writing this review where I'm going to explain why I enjoyed the customer service I received this morning. This morning is my first visit to this restaurant. When I ordered, I messed up my order. My fault, they did not misunderstand me, I ordered incorrectly. When I received my meal, I realized the mistake that I had made, and asked them to correct it. They did so promptly and with a smile. No questions asked. And, best of all, they did not charge me extra, even though I should have payed for the remade meal. Terrific customer service. Wow this place is really good! I usually stop by through town and go to the in and out burger, which is good but this place is a hidden gem. They give a lot of food. I got the carne Assada fries and my husband got the two shredded beef burritos plate. All were really good, even the beans and rice were excellent! I bought a chicken burrito for 8 dollars, wait time was 15 minutes with 1 person in front of me. Service was forgetful and short in response (forgot carrots and salsa). When I got home, I noticed all they gave me was soggy chicken in a old tortilla(no rice, beans or cheese). They would not give me a refund and were very rude in response on the telephone. I would suggest you take your money elsewhere for better Mexican food. There are many places with much more authentic food and better service in Placerville. read more

This place has horrible customer relations. I ordered chips and guacamole to go, and they gave me chips swimming in runny guacamole with chees which I didn'task for. I tried to tell them that once I reached the destination where I would eat these, they would be a soggy mess. I asked for chips and guacamole, not guacamole on my chips. They also put cheese on them, and I can't eat cheese. They would not make it right, and I had to argue with them to get my money back, which I only got 5 of the almost 10 dollars I spent. I frequently went to this place but will not anymore, and I recommend no one patronage this place. Very rude customer service over 10 dollars. They will lose thousands of dollars from my friends and family, not returning. I don't think they understand business and customer service. Please don't do business with them. Do not eat here! They told me "No" when I ordered a quesadilla and street tacos. "Only fryer items" are available. I reluctantly ordered the taquitos since I didn't have any other choice and when I received them they were COLD. They were hard and chewy and soggy like they had been microwaved.
