Bottled Coca Cola from Mexico. Made with real sugar, not HFCS.
Lillian W.

I found myself in Pollock Pines, CA. It's a small rural town. There aren't a lot of places to eat. Pacos Taqueria is a small eatery minority owned which is not common in these parts. I've eaten here twice in the last 4 months. They serve up tasty, traditional Mexican food. The staff are welcoming. Not afraid to crack a smile. The food is traditional, classic, simple Mexican food. I like the refried beans. They are smooth and flavorful without causing gas. Yup I said it. Some places I avoid the beans because of the potential after effects. The chicken enchiladas and ground beef crispy tacos are my faves. The shredded chicken was moist and flavorful, the enchilada sauce was tasty. I could drink that stuff. Speaking about drinking; they have bottled Mexican Coca Colas and Jarritos along with fountain sodas. The complimentary tortilla chips are brought out to you. The salsa bar is self serve. The red salsa is fantastic. Yum. The green salsa was darn tasty too. The interior is simple a bit dated but clean. It has a neat luchador theme. Luchador as in face masked Mexican pro wrestlers. They have some luchador masks displayed on the wall. Not a lot, but enough to make it interesting. Another nod to the customer service was that we ordered dine in about 22 minute before closing. They served us and didn't rush us out. Since the food came out hot n fast, we ate and left two minutes before closing. Awesome service.

First time at this location!

Listen, if you go to Pollock Pines you do not expect that in a place in the Mountains (4000 feet elevation), where they could make the sequel to the movie "The Hills have Eyes" you find incredible Mexican food. My wife and I came here with my son who loves this place on a rainy day and I did not know what to expect. The food was incredible. First the lady at the counter was kind and pleasant. Furthermore, if you have observed any of my reviews clean bathrooms are important. The bathroom was clean and well stocked (The Smell of Fabuluso, Lavender Scent), was in the air. Now let's talk the food. I had Carne Asada and it was off the Hook. A great portion that was marinated to perfection. My wife had the Taco salad and it was full and tastey. The menu is quite extensive and I beleive they do catering. If you are in Pollock Pines or on your way to South Lake Tahoe and you have an itch that needs to get scratched for Mexican food here is the place!

I enjoy eating at Paco's. I find the people friendly, and the food delightful! I get the Chile Verde Tostada, it's filling and under $10.00. I eat there several times a week!

Fantastic pupusas! The chile verde super burrito was great too! Huge servings: I ordered two pupusas but could only finish one. My fiancé could only finish half his burrito too. Awesome complimentary chips and salsa bar. I tried all the salsas and loved them all. Shout out to Julie who was our cashier/server. Friendly service with a smile. Can't say enough good things about this taqueria!

It's a great place to have Mexican food. The staff is friendly, and the food is good quality.

Extensive menu. Order as you come in and they'll bring the delicious food to your table. Comfy booths.

Great place here in Pollock Pines. Sister restaurant in Placerville. Authentic. Reasonable and great tasting. Nice vibe. Very clean. Staff are friendly and efficient. Order at the front from the menu on the wall and they'll bring the food to you. Works well. I've had the fajitas here before and they were delicious. Quality food. Love the salsa bar and free unlimited chips. :) Just went with the 2 item combination plate today with chicken enchilada and beef taco with beans and rice. Hit the spot! Spoiled myself with empanadas for dessert. Covered in chocolate and some whip cream. Tasty. Highly recommended. Will be back. Don't need to go down the hill for Mexican food anymore!!

Best food around hands down. Great salsa bar and chips. Their Tacos are amazing and are my favorites. The service is excellent. The servers are all very pleasant and attentive. Cozy ambiance for sure and they always have good Mexican music playing overhead.

I would be hitting Placerville around 7:30pm on a weekday and options were limited. This place had decent Yelp reviews, so I gave it a try... and it was a fantastic end to a really terrific day. Things to note: -This is probably the only restaurant I've been to post-covid that didn't ask me for a tip when I put my credit card in. I didn't have much cash with me, but dropped a few bills in the tip jar. Next time I come back, I will be sure to leave more! -It was at the end of the day, but service was prompt. -This is also one of the few taqerias I've been too lately lately that still has a free chip and salsa bar. I was really hungry and appreciated freshly made chips! -The first bite ofmy chili relleno burrito pure joy! It was loaded with guacamole with just the right amount of jalapeño and cilantro. There was zero skimping in this thing! I kept expecting to get to a place in the burrito where there would be no guacamole, and that never happened. I should've only eaten half the burrito, but I devoured the entire thing. This is definitely a place I will return to next time I'm passing through Placerville!

Our waiter was terrific. I ordered Rojas chicken posole. It was served in a big ole bowl that was bigger than my Charlie Brown head. The broth had a good flavor. The shredded cabbage was served already mixed in the posole. The posole was topped with chopped onions, dry oregano, and chopped cilantro with lime wedges served on the side. I'm used to everything served on the side including the cabbage. I like to control the quantity of toppings. A bit of a control freak. Next time I'll ask for the items on the side. The posole had a lot of shredded cabbage and hominy. Each spoonful had a textured crunch from the cabbage. Slurping and chomping my posole. The hominy was soft and tender without being mushy. The complimentary chips n salsa were divinely delicious. Salsa was packed with flavor, nice thickness. No watery soupy salsa here. The chips were crisp and light. This Paco's is a sit down casual restaurant while the one in Pollock Pines is counter service. Both have a fun luchador theme that's understated without being outrageous. This location has a bar in the dining room shared space. The atmosphere can get rambunctious. Not rowdy but rambunctiously loud.

The entire place has a cute, farm-style feel--very country, open, and spacious. They offer outdoor seating as well as beautiful long, communal wooden tables inside. There's a small open kitchen where you can watch the staff preparing the food, and the restrooms were clean and surprisingly spacious. They also carry local donuts, which were absolutely worth trying. We had the apple fritter, which was soft and delicious with the perfect crispy exterior. Our favorite was the almond bar--it was delicate, flaky, buttery, and so good. We also tried a cookie that was equally delicious. For lunch, we ordered the turkey sandwich, which was piled high with turkey and crisp vegetables, the bourbon bacon jam toast with melted brie, and a classic BLT. We kept it simple with water, which is available as self-serve. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoor space. They have cornhole and bocce available to play around the property, adding to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly kind, and they also have a small market area featuring drinks, local products, and other items for sale. The entire place is quaint and adorable, both inside and out. I highly recommend Blue Barn Provisions for lunch or brunch if you're in the Pollock Pines area! :) dog friendly.
