The lovely ladies running the counter were fantastic and gave us their recommendations and helpfully told us that they will be closed over the weekend because they're expanding! But that gave me the next day to go back for more. For my second visit, we indulged in a fresh baked apple pie (absolutely to die for) and a platano loaf. Both were excellent! I also ordered a slice of the hazelnut cake, a slice of the maracuya loaf and the brownie. All of the pastries I took to go were incredible. And a visit to Coz has become a must for me. The aforementioned avocado toast. And the smoothie made with yogurt, honey, avocado and a dash of espresso. It looks grayish, but ignore that, as it is very tasty. The coffee is really excellent. And I now find myself buying a pound to bring back. I've found that it brews nicely with an Aeropress and with a Chemex. Different methods of extraction but both are enjoyable. I default to the standard James Hoffmann recipe for the Aeropress, alternating with the Jonathon Gagne recipe. For Chemex, I use the FourSix method. Highly highly recommended.
