I can handle a fair amount of spice but this had me sweating and in pain until the next morning if you know what I mean. I finished most of it due to hunger but immediately regretted it. I am always craving tamales during the winter time and luckily, the El Governador truck stopped by my office during lunch and they had tamales! I ordered one of the chicken and one of the cheese. The chicken was good but the cheese was exceptional! There were big slices of jalapenos inside the cheese tamales and they really elevated the flavor. Already had my lunch at the office, but everyone was raving about the taco truck outside. I went ahead and looked at the menu when the lovely young lady noticed my interest in their habanero sauce. They whipped up a special version of the "Ala diabla" and it was fantastic. The shrimp surprisingly went well with the melted cheese and onion. While I understand life happens, the truck did not show up at my graduation party for 50 people. He did not call and was not very responsive so we had no idea he was having truck problems. But he charged my credit card for the full amount. As I said, life happens, but Diego offered to refund me the full amount but he has not done so and now is not picking up my phone calls. They were out of shrimp by the time they reached us at 12:00. I waited 20 minutes to place my order and another 20 minutes to get my food. By the time it was time to eat, I had to go back to work and eat at my desk. The tacos were just ok, certainly nothing to write home about. The chips and salsa were ok. It was really a bit pricey for what I got. After reading all of the 5 start reviews, myself and quite a few of my co-workers were less than impressed. My wife was overcharged after eating at their food truck at an AYSO opening night. She discovered the overcharge after receiving her credit card statement. She contacted and spoke to Diego and he apologized and said he would immediately mail a refund check for the overcharge. After repeated calls, emails and texts with him, he has failed to deliver on his promise. It has been 2 months of excuses. The matter of the money is secondary to good business practice. I know this business continues to overcharge clients and like me, many customers fail to review their statement to confirm the accuracy of the transaction. I am contacting the better business bureau, and the department of corporations to provide them with my statements so that they can investigate this dishonorable company. Im going to start off by saying, after dating a Mexican for three years, I HATE Mexican food that isn't authentic. I don't like the chains or going out to grab it. Unless we are picking things up from Northgate or going to Santa Ana, I'm not down. With that being said, I had the Al Pastor street taco and Carne Asada street taco and it was legit! The tacos came with the raw onions, cilantro, and limes. And they even did their version of grilled cebollitas. They had three salsas to choose from, one that was pink in color, red in color, and green in color. I poured a crap load of the pinkish-red one on one taco and the green one on the other taco. That pink one was insanely spicy. I mean they either used habanero peppers and/or ghost peppers. It was legit! The green one had an awesome flavor and after already burning my mouth, I really didn't taste much heat, but I imagine there would be some. I heard that they are known for their shrimp tacos and I hope to try one the next time. In fact I want to try all of their menu items. She mentioned that tomorrow night they are going to be at the Artifex Brewery in San Clemente if y'all want to go down and give them a try.
