The cold ice cream was a great contrast to the warm, crispy churro! You get five churros with a generous portion of ice cream for a little over $10, so this was a good deal too! This place should probably have two separate businesses on Yelp for review since they currently have a store front near 4th st market but the Yelp page was also for their food truck. The store front is easy to find as they have a large visible sign showing "CHURROS" near the street. The items can get pricey, as I recently picked up just an ice cream with churros and bag of churros which ended up at $20. There's a $1 charge on credit cards which also seems a bit like charging the customer on any business transaction. The location is a decent size so it could definitely fit groups and such. Unfortunately my visit did not really go well, as after ordering and receiving a buzzer to let us know when the order is complete, we waited for over 10 minutes to have other customers place orders after us and receive their orders before our buzzer went off. Eventually, one of the associates noticed we had been waiting for a while and came to us to ask if we had placed an order already. For some reason, the buzzer was not programmed to our order, and I ended up asking the cashier for my receipt to confirm that my order was placed. This was frustrating as we had originally entered the store as the only guests and 3 other parties had entered the store after us and received their orders before us. Fortunately, the associates closest to us near the pick up order section noticed that we had been waiting for an extended period of time and came out to ask what we had ordered to help us make our missing order. I have no idea how our order was missed but it was not a great experience to wait in a store with no AC (only the front doors propped open for ventilation) and there was no real apology for the mishap. I arrived around 5 p.m. on a Friday, and surprisingly there were actually a handful of people there. It was a little difficult to find parking because it's in the downtown area. I was just buying churros for me and my girlfriend, and I decided to get the bag of churros, which is two of them cut up, and then the Don Churro, like the large one. That is more than enough for two people for around $14. That's a lot of churro, and it was absolutely delicious with the condensed milk. I can see why people rave about this place. This is my first time coming to this place and people say it's one of the best churros. I thought it was cool hearing it started off a truck and it got so popular they opened up actual place. There was line out of the door coming here on a Saturday night. We waited about 10-15 mins in line. The place is narrow and small. They had some tall tables all around but they were taken. They have people making the churros by hand in the front window. My friend got a regular churro with chocolate dip on the side I think that was $4. My boyfriend and I shared the churro ice cream ($12) that had vanilla ice cream and condensed milk drizzle. You get to choose between chocolate, strawberry, condensed milk and Nutella dipping. If you're a fan of churros, Don Churros Gomez is THE place to go! I've always been a fan of churros and have been meaning to go here. When my daughter had a dance competition in the area, I knew I had to go!!! Its located on 4th Street in Santa Ana but I've heard they also have a food truck that goes out to Anaheim as well. The place on 4th street though has street parking, be prepared to possibly circle around a few minutes to find a spot. Also, make sure you have coins to feed the parking meter! Its not a huge place...several tables along the wall to the left while on the right is the area where the magic happens! This is where they make the churros and towards the back, right is where the ordering is done. We ordered the Churros with ice Cream, Don Churro style with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of nutella and a full thread of regular churros. I will have to say that these have got to be the best damn churros I've ever had!! They make them on the spot and not until you've made your order. They're so light, airy and not even oily!!! They're just soooo sooo good! We brought our boxes of churros home for the rest of our family to enjoy. There was so much that we couldnt finish it right away so we air fried what we had left the next day and it was still pretty darn good. For what you get, prices are quite reasonable! Once you order, they hand you a buzzer but I'm not sure what it was for since they were shouting out numbers. I got the Churrito Tray ($8) which comes with 4 pcs and a drizzle (I chose chocolate). The Don churros were great fresh, piping hot and sweet but not too sweet. Unfortunately, although they gave us a order buzzer, they never took our ticket over to the counter which meant a 40 minute wait before we went over to complain at the number of people who ordered well after and got their orders before ours. At which point they just gave us some churros (not the right ones and only two) which we had to readress again.
