I've had Don Churros before at their original truck in Anaheim near Disneyland, so when my friends and I were passing through Orange County, we wanted to support their brick-and-mortar location in Santa Ana. As expected, the service was great and the churros were absolutely delicious. They were fresh, flavorful, and you could really taste the authentic Mexican ingredients in every bite. The atmosphere was quiet when we visited, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our order. If you're in Santa Ana and craving some amazing churros, definitely stop by and support their new location. Their Anaheim truck is great too, but it's nice to see them expanding. Apparently, friendship sometimes means driving through Orange County in search of fried dough. I finally got the opportunity to try the Sant Ana location (same delicious, flaky and moist churro as the one in Anaheim food truck location, but there are plenty of tables and seatings here. Big churro lover. The prices were ok. Beware of the charge when using a credit card for orders over $5. The traditional churros were light and crispy. The vanilla ice cream was good. I didn't look that closely what brand it was. Could have used a little more drizzle of Nutella but overall it was good. We got the half and half box to share with 6 people! The portion size was huge! It was quite packed on a Friday night, but they have small seats inside and outside. The traditional churros were SO good! They were warm and crisp! The don churros were good too. We had some pieces with no filling, but the ones with the caramel filling were delicious! The place on 4th street though has street parking, be prepared to possibly circle around a few minutes to find a spot. Also, make sure you have coins to feed the parking meter! My daughter and I came on a Saturday evening and must've got there at a good time as there was only a handful of us in line. After ordering, it did get much, much longer! As in, right out the door! Its not a huge place...several tables along the wall to the left while on the right is the area where the magic happens! This is where they make the churros and towards the back, right is where the ordering is done. We ordered the Churros with ice Cream, Don Churro style with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of nutella and a full thread of regular churros. I will have to say that these have got to be the best damn churros I've ever had!! They make them on the spot and not until you've made your order. They're so light, airy and not even oily!!! They're just soooo sooo good! We brought our boxes of churros home for the rest of our family to enjoy. There was so much that we couldnt finish it right away so we air fried what we had left the next day and it was still pretty darn good. For what you get, prices are quite reasonable! I never had the chance to visit the Don Churros Gomez food truck in Anaheim, but randomly spotted their brick and mortar store and had to check it out. It wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon, but they have ropes out front so I imagine the line gets long at times. The inside has tables along one wall and on the opposite side you can see them making churros. Once you order, they hand you a buzzer but I'm not sure what it was for since they were shouting out numbers. I got the Churrito Tray ($8) which comes with 4 pcs and a drizzle (I chose chocolate). I also got a side of caramel sauce ($0.50). Next time I would get the churrito bag that comes with plain churros and get sauce on the side because it's a better value. The family that owns this place has been making churros for over 50 years and it shows in the quality. Their churros are perfectly light and crispy. Came to Don Churros on a Friday night after grabbing dinner at Tacos Los Cholos Santa Ana. Upon entering, there was a short line, but soon enough got to order. Got the box of churros, and also a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it, and found a table against the wall to eat at. There is limited seating and this place is pretty popular so be prepared to stand or eat your food outside if there isn't any seating available. The churros themselves were really yummy! We've been waiting for this location to open and glad that it's finally here. I would visit them a lot when they were originally out of a truck. Amazing service, great food and even better people. The ambiance is very inviting with a ton of seating. This place can become very busy because of how good they are. There is a ton of options which is great. I ordered the funnel cake and it was light, flavorful and very savory. It wasn't heavy at all and felt really light, not overly sweet, it was just right. Run don't walk to this cinnamon sugary goodness! For context, if I'm at Disneyland and I only get 1 treat, it's going to be a churro. But now I have an even better option that doesn't require a ticket, just a venture into Downtown Santa Ana. I got the Rosca Delgado - they pipe a thin stream of dough in a spiral directly into the frying oil, and then cut the cooked thread into pieces. I tried the chocolate dipping sauce which was fine but I'm a purest - no dip is going to make it better in my opinion. It was so fun to watch it being piped and fried and handed to me still hot. Took a few pieces home and popped them in the air fryer for a breakfast treat the next day - delish both times. I also tried the Rosca Grueso which is a thicker piece of churro - once fried, they slice it open and spread a caramel sauce inside. The caramel had a unique flavor and wasn't my favorite. Love that Don Churros finally opened a brick and mortar location in Santa Ana! Definitely did not have as long of lines as at their truck in Anaheim. There are a few seats inside and outside to lounge around. You can smell the sweet cinnamon sugar wafting out the door. I ordered a traditional single churro and it was enough as an individual serving. It was made fresh and practically melted in my mouth. However, compared to El Moro in Northgate Market, I probably prefer El Moro's churros instead. Theirs has more of a chewy bite to them whereas these just melt in your mouth.
