I finally got the opportunity to try the Sant Ana location (same delicious, flaky and moist churro as the one in Anaheim food truck location, but there are plenty of tables and seatings here. Parking can be a bit more challenging at this location. The staff were nice and friendly. Churros were made to order so they came out hot after five minutes. The ambiance is bright, airy and cozy. Highly recommended!
Best churro I've ever had in my life hands down. I have only been to their truck and didn't realize they had a store location just two blocks down from Tacos Los Cholos which are the best tacos ever. I only get churros from here - and let me tell you how light and crunchy crispy these churros are! Not super dense and just the right amount of crisp and sweetness and cinnamon. NO NOTES!
Holy moly! I haven't been impressed with a particular food item like this in years!!! Last night, a date decided to take me for dessert to Don Churros Gomez. After the ecstasy of the crispy fry and perfect combination of cinnamon and sugar... I became a much more agreeable date! They were heaven!!! We tried some of the flat ones with caramel and chocolate... also amazing! He promised if I stayed this sweet, he would buy me churros every day! I'm tempted! I texted my Mom after my date... I told her I needed to take her for one of these churros from Don Churros Gomez!! Mucho Gracias amigos!
Big churro lover. The prices were ok. Beware of the charge when using a credit card for orders over $5. The traditional churros were light and crispy. The vanilla ice cream was good. I didn't look that closely what brand it was. Could have used a little more drizzle of Nutella but overall it was good. Debated whether to try the Donchurros but I didn't see a single person order it for the hour I was there and I like the crispy edges of the traditional churros.
We got the half and half box to share with 6 people! The portion size was huge! It was quite packed on a Friday night, but they have small seats inside and outside. The traditional churros were SO good! They were warm and crisp! The don churros were good too. We had some pieces with no filling, but the ones with the caramel filling were delicious! The don churros were a little less warm and had more of a bite to it. Would definitely come back for the traditional churros any day!

The place on 4th street though has street parking, be prepared to possibly circle around a few minutes to find a spot. Also, make sure you have coins to feed the parking meter! My daughter and I came on a Saturday evening and must've got there at a good time as there was only a handful of us in line. After ordering, it did get much, much longer! As in, right out the door! Its not a huge place...several tables along the wall to the left while on the right is the area where the magic happens! This is where they make the churros and towards the back, right is where the ordering is done. We ordered the Churros with ice Cream, Don Churro style with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of nutella and a full thread of regular churros. I will have to say that these have got to be the best damn churros I've ever had!! They make them on the spot and not until you've made your order. They're so light, airy and not even oily!!! They're just soooo sooo good! We brought our boxes of churros home for the rest of our family to enjoy. There was so much that we couldnt finish it right away so we air fried what we had left the next day and it was still pretty darn good. For what you get, prices are quite reasonable! Now i'm just trying to get back out there sometime for their deliciousness! If there's a line, its worth the wait!!! Two thumbs up for Don Churros Gomez!

Saw this spot on social media and have been craving a fresh churro for a long time now. It's in downtown Santa Ana with somewhat limited but not completely impossible parking. The churros were so hot and fresh. They were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside (lowkey steaming) which was great. Would go again! It's also open late!

It wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon, but they have ropes out front so I imagine the line gets long at times. The inside has tables along one wall and on the opposite side you can see them making churros. Once you order, they hand you a buzzer but I'm not sure what it was for since they were shouting out numbers. I got the Churrito Tray ($8) which comes with 4 pcs and a drizzle (I chose chocolate). I also got a side of caramel sauce ($0.50). Next time I would get the churrito bag that comes with plain churros and get sauce on the side because it's a better value. The family that owns this place has been making churros for over 50 years and it shows in the quality. Their churros are perfectly light and crispy. Dare I say they might be better than Disneyland churros.

There is limited seating and this place is pretty popular so be prepared to stand or eat your food outside if there isn't any seating available. The churros themselves were really yummy! They were crispy and crunchy and paired well when dipped with the vanilla ice cream. I would probably come again if I was in the area, but I don't think that I would have the craving to come here for straight churros without grabbing anything else that was in downtown Santa Ana.
These churros are amazing. 10/10 perfect crunch while soft. The coffee ice cream that came with my affogato was delicious aswell and not too sweet. One of my friends got the churroknow. Its churros with ice cream served inside of bread, that looked good aswell. Its her favorite thing to get. My other friend ordered the churros with ice cream (vanilla bean) she loved that. We all left very content and will definitely be back. Its a cute place tucked in the middle of 4th street, a great new addition to DTSA. The staff was pleasant. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor does fill up so scope out benches around the area or eat in your car.
This was the best dessert place I've come this year. Their entire churros making process is behind a clear glass partition; watching them making churros while waiting keeps you entertained. Their churros is perfectly crispy. It's crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Their vanilla ice cream portion was generous and also very good! Everyone is so nice here and it's the vibe here with good lighting and music. I would 100% bring my family/friends here and recommend this place. So glad to have found such an authentic and gem of a place!

Great date spot with awesome vibes | 9/10 This is a solid place to bring a date if you want to actually chat. The atmosphere is awesome - music is chill, not too loud, so you can hear each other talk. The dessert is where they win. Everything's fresh baked. The churros are delightful and they come in different flavors. Chocolate was my favorite - crispy outside, soft inside, perfect with the dipping sauce. Heads up: It does get busy and there's usually a line. But honestly, it's worth the wait. Come on down and try it yourself. You won't regret it. read more

Hands down the best churros I've had! I've been to their truck location multiple times, so when I heard they opened a new store, I had to try it out. The quality is as good as I remember, with the churros being crispy and airy. It's great with vanilla ice cream, or the cajeta caramel sauce. I went on a weekday evening and it wasn't too busy, I was able to get my order in around 10 minutes. If you have a big group (or just love churros), you can also order a whole thread of churros, which comes with around 8. They have indoor and outdoor seating and it's perfect for a casual sweet treat. Overall I think this place is a must go whenever you're in downtown Santa Ana! read more

Super tasty, crispy yet fluffy, freshly fried churros... They make a traditional shape churro or their loaf style grueso churro that they slice as you would a loaf of French bread... They are rolled in sugar and cinnamon.. You can choose some dips like chocolate or strawberry or caramel although I'm not sure if the dips are house made... They don't seem like they are.. The dips are very sweet.. But the traditional churro is stellar. The service is fast and friendly and the restaurant has a few indoor and outdoor tables but most will take their churros and stroll the downtown. The line moves fairly quickly so don't be afraid to get in the queue. read more

I was excited to try this place because my bf said it used to be his fave churro spot, but hadn't been in a while. We got there and the line was insane. We were in line for like 30ish min. We ordered and still had to wait for another 15 min. Unfortunately, there was nothing special about the churro. I got a traditional churro and my bf got the churro with ice cream. I don't know if I was expecting more, but the churro was just average. The churros were nice and warm, but were lacking flavor/sugar/cinnamon I don't know, something. Even my bf said he prefers the churros at El Moro over these now. I do like that they're fresh and you can see them making them on the spot. But not worth the wait time for me. We also ordered hot chocolate & it was not good. It didn't taste like chocolate. Customer service was okay, they're really busy so you feel rushed to order once you get to the window. read more

Overlook good experience. Definitely not the best churro I've ever had. I like the ones at Mercado better but this was very good. A lot of options. The sauces are good. For me it just felt like they're a bit too fried. They were a little bit greasy. I did like that. They weren't overly sweet or had an excessive amount of sugar on top. I stopped by with some friends to try out Don Churros while I was in the area. I went with the Churrito box which comes with two long churros cut in half and topped with one topping (caramel, Nutella, condensed milk, etc). I chose the condensed milk and it paired really well with the cinnamon flavor of the churros, which are made to order, hot and fresh. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. read more

These are probably the best churros I've ever had!!! They're super fresh when they come out - incredibly crispy and pairs so well with the caramel sauce. One churro was perfect to share for two people as they're very long. There was a small line on Friday evening but wait bad at all. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. This churro truck is parked off in a corner of this giant parking lot. Parking is super easy. The line can randomly get very long but the churros are worth the wait. The churros are made to order and in my opinion way better than the Disneyland ones. If you get the butter pecan ice cream, it comes with actual pecan pieces. There isn't really a place to sit, just a couple of benches and a few tables that they share with the taco trucks next door. read more

The picture does not do it justice, but let me tell you, don churros sells some dang good churros. Probably my favorite so far. Line and wait was a little long but worth it. Parking is huge! The churros are always fresh, hot, and tasty. There's something about the batter that makes it so light and fluffy on the inside and so perfectly crispy on the outside. The cinnamon and sugar ratio is perfect as well. Haven't tried the don churro yet cause I just wanted the classic, but I'm most definitely coming back for more! read more

The brick and morter in Santa Ana for Don Churro is very inviting. Obviously come here for the churro, made fresh to order. It is light, crispy, cinnamon-y, sweet but not overly sweet. It is so good! Love that Don Churros finally opened a brick and mortar location in Santa Ana! Definitely did not have as long of lines as at their truck in Anaheim. There are a few seats inside and outside to lounge around. You can smell the sweet cinnamon sugar wafting out the door. I ordered a traditional single churro and it was enough as an individual serving. It was made fresh and practically melted in my mouth. However, compared to El Moro in Northgate Market, I probably prefer El Moro's churros instead. Theirs has more of a chewy bite to them whereas these just melt in your mouth. This place is a must when you are in the area. Forget Disney churros, come here instead! It's worth it. Love how they make their churros made to order. Warm, crunchy outside but soft inside, not to mention they have lots of different toppings! Come here before the peak time though if you don't want to wait in long line. Parking is good and free. Food: 5/5. Straight up excellent. We ordered the 1/2 & 1/2 (Thread/Rosca) and both styles were great in their own ways. The traditional style melts in your mouth. My partner and I both loved it. The Don Churro style is more like fried dough--chewier, but not tough. We went with cajeta as the filling, which was a wise choice: not overly sweet, but flavorful enough to keep it from being bland. While this style wasn't our favorite, it was definitely worth trying. Service: Not bad overall, but they do charge a $1 fee for credit card payments. I think customers should be informed ahead of time, either verbally or with a posted sign. Location/Ambiance: They are set up in a supermarket parking lot. Not easy to miss, and definitely worth finding. read more
