These taquitos taste homemade! They have the right crisp with the perfect amount of filling. I got one of each and they didn't disappoint! I highly recommend eating them there so you can get the freshly made taste. Plenty of parking around the area. They have a few tables around the food truck. My favorite is the shredded beef, but they do chicken, bean and cheese and chorizo and papa. The cups are perfect that the taquitos come in, no mess! . You get a nice base of their green salsa along with cabbage and queso fresco/cotija on top! You can also wash it down with their aguas frescas , which they have pepino/limo, watermelon and then my two favorites the strawberry or banana horchata!!!! Opening up just recently, I had the opportunity to come and try out the food here. The owners were both very friendly and have been in the business before! Lovely people to talk to, both are so very hard working and deserve our attention and money. After coming home it was very clear to us that the food was hand-made. The taquitos' shells were imperfect, hand-rolled, and colored with pride in their Mexican heritage. The food was so clearly made with love, you'd mistake it for being home made. That's when I met Rob and Raylene--the hardworking, kind-hearted husband-and-wife team behind it all. From the start, everything they've made has been filled with love and consistency. Now they're back with a brand new truck on Grand St in Santa Ana--one of their OG locations--and still delivering some of the best food around. The taquitos are perfectly crispy, the green sauce is a staple, and the jalapeño poppers are fire--especially the chorizo and potato one, my personal favorite. Don't sleep on the aguas frescas either--the strawberry horchata is homemade and incredibly refreshing. And if you like heat, their habanero sauce is no joke--spicy, yes, but also super flavorful. My wife and I have had these taquitos once before and it was good. We have since tried to come back twice and the information on here is not accurate. Both times they were not at the location that is posted here on Yelp. We have also gone to the Grand location and they also were not there, during the times posted. I'm a vegetarian, so it's challenge to find taquitos that do not taste like they were fried in the same oil as the meat products. These were crispy and a delight to eat. The bean and cheese were my fave. Potato and cheese were also delish, but I enjoyed the others more. But, will definitely be ordering this combo again! Avo sauce was an added bonus. Came with some shredded veggies and topped with cotija cheese. I got some of their habanero sauce on the side - soo good, it kicks you in the mouth like 3 seconds later! Banana Horchata kept the flames at bay! Watermelon agua fresca was very refreshing. I cannot wait to come back! It's a small parking lot that can fit about 20 cars. They provide a few picnic tables. We just had dinner here with shredded beef, bean and cheese, and chicken taquitos. They were delicious, we are arguing which one was better. Basically all were great. The aguas de Sandia was pot on. Highly recommend taquitos la chata. Taquitos are always served to perfection. Crispy with good flavor. I would highly recommend the jalapeño poppers. They are the best I've ever had! To top it all off they are only $1 each right now. Their new location is super cute and I love that they now have tables so that you can chill and eat your food fresh. Service is always great every time we go it feels like we are ordering from old friends since they are all that easy to talk to.
