This was one of the food vendors we tried while we were at the Dublin St. Patrick's Day Festival…read more Located in Santa Clarita, this couple specializes in Welsh baked goods, which are sold at festivals and on their website. Unlike other food vendors, they had a dedicated tent with tables and chairs for customers. Our order: The "Full Monty" ($20.00): Sweet Plate + Savory Plate *Celtic Plate: 2 Welsh Scones, clotted cream, and lemon curd +Crumbly and soft, these were some of the best scones I've eaten! Very delicate as it cracked when I picked it up. +Full of currants, which are the traditional flavor. +Imported from the UK, the clotted cream was creamy and slightly tart: It reminded me of a lighter sour cream. +Imported from the UK, the lemon curd was tangy and not too sweet. *Savory Plate: Scotch Egg with Branston Relish +Imported from the UK, the Branston Relish was delicious! Flavor wise, it tasted like BBQ sauce mixed with sweet relish. +Not too salty -I've always wanted to try a Scotch Egg, so when I saw this, I knew I had to order it. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment b/c it was premade and not freshly fried. The outside was soft and not crunchy. -Sausage was kinda mushy and not very flavorful. Welsh Ploughman's ($9.00): 4 Savory Welsh Cakes, Branston Relish, cheddar, and grapes +We originally wanted the Tomato Bacon flavor, but they were out so Cheese Onion it was. These were quite tasty as they were both savory and sweet. +Imported from the UK, the Branston Relish was delicious! Flavor wise, it tasted like BBQ sauce mixed with sweet relish. +Grapes were an unexpected surprise since they weren't mentioned on the menu. They were sweet and juicy. -Cheese was prepackaged and it looked like Colby-Jack instead of cheddar. *Verdict: Except for the Scotch Egg, everything else was delicious. Service was friendly. I had some questions about the menu, and the co-owner helping me was patient. I could tell the wife-husband duo was passionate about their craft and I liked how they had signs on their tables describing the Celtic Tea Experience.

The welsh cakes are always delicious and the scotch eggs are amazing. Wonderful staff.read more

I was more excited to get this corn than the whole trip back to MM again. (Yes, I do love MM.)…read more The corn is slow roasted on what I am almost sure is an old fashioned oven made specifically for corn roasting. Check out the oven http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/LAWVDyBIXlU5SngtdTlgDA?select=XaIH-y4EMNGHzOCR1XIvNA and a closeup of the corn resting on the grill http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/LAWVDyBIXlU5SngtdTlgDA?select=3yiYsioWvyYebUdr2-axIA Every rack just large enough to fit corn. They have obviously soaked the husks in some kind of liquid, to ensure that the slow roasting doesn't dry out the corn, because each bite of the corn is juicy and buttery. The Corn Cart worker removes the corn with husks on from the oven, shells the corn with heat sensitive gloves, carefully, and puts it on the corn rack after bathing it in a vat of butter http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/LAWVDyBIXlU5SngtdTlgDA?select=045pM5dV9Q2tfUool4I7rQ and loosely puts foil around it so that you are able to bathe it with all the condiments, juices, powders, as you so please: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/LAWVDyBIXlU5SngtdTlgDA?select=vPECv6wmxTv5i3M0_2kpEw Don't be scared of the murky lemon juice. It is divine. Go easy on the salt. Apply garlic. Dress with barbecue spice and throw on hoards of lemon pepper and chili powder. I'm fairly certain they don't make them like this anymore. The taste just isn't achievable with your modern day digital ovens. I'm a stickler at creating labor intensive meals because there really is a difference. Stop off at this corn cart and it'll take you to another time... to when flavor was more important than the amount of time it takes to cook a meal.
