After seeing all the reviews for Casa Lupita in Castaic, I finally gave it a try -- and it absolutely delivered. I ordered the Burrito Colorado (all meat, wet style) with refried beans, cheese, and chips and salsa. Everything was legit. The meat was tender, full of flavor, and that red sauce was rich and balanced -- not watered down like a lot of places. Chips and salsa were just as good. I ate every single bite. Clean plate. No leftovers. You can tell they care about the quality here. I came for the Mexican food, but they've got a mix of Mexican and American dishes, so there's a lot to choose from. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. This is officially one of my new go-to spots. read more

Was in town for business and after checking out of my hotel room, I needed a good place to eat. Luckily, my hotel room was close and stumbled upon this place. The gentleman server couldn't have been any nicer or bend over backwards to make sure my meal and experience were nothing short of amazing. I had the chilaquiles and OMG were they good. Visiting for Xmas, my sister took us here for dinner as it's down the road from her home and her favorite spot. Small establishment on a road that provides services to truckers. There is indoor booth seating, subtle decor and an outdoor patio in front. Parking on the street or in the parking lot. The menu is varied. Ordered the tortilla soup, the bean/cheese wet burrito with tomatillo sauce and a side of chips/salsa. Chips and salsa made in house-delicious! Only ordered a cup of soup- very filling, full of chicken sprinkled with cheese and tortilla stripes. The husband ate the entire burrito as sign he enjoyed it. Staff is very friendly. Jasmine are very help , It was very hard to choose from there menu so many delicious dishes so I asked Jasmine's if she would picked out something for me and what Jasmine suggested was the Fajitas combo and it was served hot and it was delicious and there was so much I had to take most of the Fajitas home. On our way back from Los Angeles we stopped for some food. We were debating on where to go and came across Dennys. While walking to the front door we noticed this cute little restaurant called Casa Lupita's. We stood outside Denny's debating on where to go when a gentlemen came out and waved us in to Casa Lupita's. It was then decided at the moment and we walked over. We were greeted with smiles and the most delicious scent, later to find out they were making a fresh batch of rice. We had chips and salsa on the table with menus right away. My best friend ordered the Menudo and I had Green Enchiladas. Let's just say our plates were wiped clean and no food was left!!! Food was so delicious and the portions were plentiful. I have spent many many evenings in Castaic, CA. It is not really part of "LA" whatever that means anymore, rather it's the outer limits of the great central valley to the north. It's the launching pad for caravans of 18-wheelers huffing and puffing their load limit 80,000 lbs up or careening down the curves of the grapevine toward Bakersfield. This apex is a town dedicated to being a truckstop, to fulfill whatever the drivers might need to get through another night and/or day without too much vibration damage to their kidneys. It's a rugged place for good reason. But it is also home to a really great tex-mex restaurant, better really than most to the south, other than in the migrant towns east of the river. Great Michoacan there by the way. The best items here are the curative menudo, guaranteed to ease the morning after pain and discomfort. But more than that is the chili colorado. The best place I've ever encountered for this last was the La Paloma, something of a challenge to linger over a meal located as it was next to the open-air livestock auction yard in Madera. Last I checked, the place was converted into a breakfast/lunch cafe completely lacking in reason to stop by. Chili colorado is, if you're talking true mexican, asado de puerco. i've been to food trucks that had this on the menu but the "proprietors" didn't know what I meant when I called it chili colorado. in fact, as you likely know, "chili" is an unknown in mex anyway. all this seems pointless to go on about. if you're in town, look for the denny's and next door is casa lupitas which is infinitely better. have the flan, too. read more

I was looking for a spot on yelp as we drove through, heading down south on I five for some breakfast burritos. I came across the spot and I'm happy I did. I phoned in the order about five minutes till my arrival for pick up. They said it will take about 25 minutes to prepare, so I presume they were really busy. Went to go get gas and headed there. Parking is in the rear. As I entered, I let them know that I had a Phone order and they said they're still preparing my order and was offered a seat. The workers were very nice and pleasant. Once my order was ready I was charged at the cashier. The food was really good. Everyone said that their burrito was amazing. It'll definitely be our to go spot when driving down south. read more

I will say that sometimes the seasoning on the grilled chicken can be hit or miss. So I don't get the fajitas any more. But overall I know what to expect now when I go here. Today we got: The Breakfast Combo with pancakes and bacon - The pancakes are ok, they're light and fluffy but a bit chewy. The bacon was crispy and my son said the eggs were good. American Breakfast Burrito - I subbed grilled peppers and onions for the eggs. I really enjoy their breakfast burritos. They're well seasoned with the right ratios of everything. Waffle - This was just ok as well but the kids enjoyed it. Chilaquilas - I've gotten it before with the green sauce and I didn't really like it. The sauce was too sour for me. I had it with the red sauce today and liked it more. The sauce had a little kick. My non spicy liking family thought it was spicy for them. It comes with eggs, beans, and rice. You can get meat for a little extra. Casa Lupita is a good option for breakfast. I'd probably give them a 4.5. But they're great customer service, quick service, and convenience. read more
