Little hole in the wall Mexican spot next to eggs n things, wasn't sure what to expect but it was really good and really clean. Sometimes with the whole in the wall spots, it can be very greasy, but the meat and everything was very well prepped with good flavor. I got the 5 taco platter with asada, chicken, and carnitas. All meats were delicious, but I especially loved the carnitas. A carnitas taco can be really good or really bad, so it can be a risky choice but this one was delicious. One of the better carnitas tacos I've had in a while. Not an over the top taco place, very simple but straight to the point and delicious. Good vibes in there

Glad we came across this place! We were wrapping up our trip and decided to stop by, and we're so glad we did. The food was amazing and packed with flavor, and the atmosphere was nice, friendly, and welcoming. We had the tostadas de ceviche and mixtas, and both were delicious! The kids loved their tacos too. We'll definitely be coming back!

This place is so good. I come to @eltapatiov all the time and it reminds me of the tacos in Pasadena or LA. My favorite is carnitas and their marinated potatoes. I always get a satisfying meal here and I keep coming back for more.

Delicious! Got 3 carne asada taco plate with beans and rice. Friendly service, food out quickly and so tasty. They even have chip and salsa counter for customers and you can take some too even if doing take out. The taco Tuesday prices look great too! What more to ask? I will be here again!

Great food, menu looks tempting, I want to try all of it. The customer service was great, the ambiance was nice, great music playing, the dining area was clean, restrooms were clean. I'll definitely be back here for more great food.

This is my go-to spot whenever I'm in the Santa Clarita area! This is my third time coming here, and it never disappoints. They have a fresh chips bar with salsa, cucumbers, and lemons while you wait for your food such a nice touch! We ordered two quesa birria taco plates, a carne asada burrito with rice, and an order of carne asada nachos. Everything came out super hot and fresh, which I love even the consomé on the side of our quesa birria tacos was piping hot. I can't stand when food comes out cold, and they definitely get it right here! The service is always friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they really care about their customers. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food that's full of flavor and served with a smile, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

This place is a nice hidden gem! Hands down the best Mexican food in SCV. The Sope's were perfect. The carnitas tacos were the perfect blend of tender meat, crunchy meat and pieces of flavorful skin! Mouth is watering as I am typing this. The horchata was a perfect blend and the Flan to close out the meal was the icing on the cake! With the first bite u could tell it was homemade with love! Service was amazing and the ambiance was perfect playing music my son was grooving to! Will be coming here once a week now! Cheers!

Mind blown! Flavors and freshness! Savoriness on every bite! Food came out fast and hot from the grill. I had the El Tap Burrito with Al Pastor and it was delicious! My son enjoyed his taco plate with carnitas and asada. Our tummies are full and happy! Great Mexican food spot. IMHO, way better than those in the mall. Friendly service as well. Inside has decent amount of dining space. Definitely be back next time we're in town. Highly recommended!!

Friendly and patient staff! Food was delicious! And we always love a good salsa bar! We went on a Weds for lunch and it hit the spot! It got busy towards the end of our visit too- seems like quite a few people come here during their lunch break. I got the quesabirria plate- it was stuffed with meat and cheese and the consume was flavorful! My husband got asada tacos and we enjoyed those as well. So glad we picked this spot for lunch!

We've dined in before but that was a long time ago & I couldn't recall the experience. Anyhow, husband made some bomb sticky rice the day before and since we had no ideas for what to make tonight, this sounded like a great solution! I highly recommend this deal! I ordered the 1lb head on shrimp. Daddy sauce. Mild. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. At first I thought it was too spicy, after a few, I realized it was the perfect amount of spice. The portion was plentiful. Husband had the fish po' boy with garlic fries and said it was great. Total was $31 including tax.

What I received was corn on the cob, potatoes and sausage with a few pieces of shrimp and the crab. My family does not eat meat so I do not understand how they could make such a mistake especially when I was the only customer there. What if someone was allergic to one of the additional items? I'm pretty sure the sausage and vegetables were added to the shrimp to equal a pound. I am totally disappointed with this mistake and I see the reason why the restaurant was empty on a Saturday afternoon. There was no way I could have gone back to return the item since I live quite far and I made the mistake of not checking before I left since the girl stapled the bag and sealed the container inside. The shrimp isn't cooked well either. Some of them were cooked for too long while others seemed almost raw. Bad quality.

I stopped in to grab takeout for my husband and me and was told the order wouldn't take long. The server was helpful and answered all my questions, so I felt good about the order: clam chowder, half-order lemon pepper wings, a catfish dinner with an extra side of shrimp, and grilled salmon with two sauces on the side (and cooked medium). After waiting 45 minutes--which already felt excessive for this order--I decided to check the food. I'm glad I did. The salmon was overcooked (well done instead of medium) with the sauce already poured on top. The lemon pepper wings had barely any seasoning, like it was added after they were already dry. And they completely forgot the shrimp. The server took everything back to fix it, but that took another 30 minutes. By then, my husband's catfish (and for $19, you only get one filet) and his cheddar side were cold, and the Caesar salad was wilted and warm. When the salmon finally came back--after another 20 minutes--it was still overcooked, now rock hard, and completely unseasoned. It felt like they were relying on sauce to do all the work, but even that missed the mark. The shrimp also tasted like pre-packaged frozen, not fresh. Nearly $90 later, we didn't enjoy any part of the meal. I'd suggest sticking to the boil if you come here, because based on this experience, everything else fell short.

You're drawn in by the familiar, comfortable design featuring mirrored signs with writing in Victorian style fonts that continue onto the menus. They have marble tables and counters, with comfortable chairs, and lots of light coming in through the windows. The staff is all smiles and very welcoming, happy to help you navigate the very interesting bill of fare, and making sure your cocktail is made exactly as you like. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, and James took excellent care of me from start to finish. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Martini with Olives; James immediately offered regular or blue cheese-stuffed olives, and asked if I preferred the martini shaken or stirred. The drink that emerged was well-balanced, cold and very tasty. The menu is filled with all sorts of interesting choices. Some are familiar items like salads and fishes and hamburgers or cheesesteak sandwiches done in their way -- but my eye immediately went to a very unique starter: Duck Fat Potato Confit. Say what? As James explained, it is a whole potato that has been slow cooked in duck fat (confit, as we know) and served as the main attraction in the dish as one might similarly feature a duck leg or short rib. I had to order this, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding dishes I've eaten in a long time. The aforementioned, slow-cooked potato initially appears a bit like a whole boiled potato, but looks are deceiving. Because of the cooking method, the potato holds it's consistency and shape much more than a boiled or baked potato, cutting almost like a protein. It's solid but tender, and as it has absorbed quite a bit of flavor during the cooking, this potato is far tastier on its own than those other iterations. But you are NOT eating this potato unadorned. Oh no, this potato is dressed with caramelized onions, smoky bacon lardons, wild mushrooms and a rich, very flavorful demi-glace. All together, you've layers upon layers of flavor that make you ignore all distractions and really concentrate on the pleasure you're getting from your food. But that's not all... Perhaps the cleverest element of a dish composed entirely of clever elements is the Mornay Sauce. Snow white, and with enough of just the right cheese to add texture to the Bechemel without becoming too powerful, the sauce is plated on the bottom, with the potato resting atop it. Visually, this looks like mashed potatoes served underneath a protein, and it plays the same role texturally -- but because you wouldn't serve potatoes with a potato, the sauce is a lighter accompaniment, whose flavor marries perfectly with the more complex sauce coming from above, and you cannot help but marvel at this stroke of culinary magic. Just wow. I finished with a dessert of Key Lime Budino, which was rich and creamy with a serious hit of sour from the Key Lime. A nice and refreshing shift after the savory richness of my entree. How lucky are the people of Newhall and Santa Clarita that they have a restaurant making such interesting and excellent food? I come up at least once a month for a music event, and how lucky am I to have discovered this place to eat beforehand? And by the way: if you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is really less than 30 minutes away (without traffic), so the next time you're thinking of going over the hill to a place in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, you may want to head North instead. I promise you, The Old Town Junction will become your new favorite.
