It was Mother's Day, and my kids asked what I was craving for brunch. Chilaquiles immediately came to mind, and luckily there happened to be a spot serving them right around the corner from the ice rink! The place already had great reviews, so we figured we had to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! The gentleman who took our order was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating from the moment we walked in. I also appreciated that they offer slightly lower pricing if you pay with cash. We all ended up ordering chilaquiles--one plate with green sauce and the other two with red sauce--and got our eggs over easy. Let me just say: these were hands down some of the best chilaquiles we've had in the area. The flavor, texture, and portion sizes were all top notch. I also loved that they have an open salsa bar along with complimentary chips for every order. Little touches like that really make the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating inside, and they have a restroom located in the back, which is always convenient when dining with kids. Absolutely delicious! The food was packed with flavor from start to finish. The customer service was nice the place was well maintained. I had the pozole, which was rich and comforting, along with 4 tacos--carnitas, asada, lengua, and tripas--and every one was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh. Little hole in the wall Mexican spot next to eggs n things, wasn't sure what to expect but it was really good and really clean. Sometimes with the whole in the wall spots, it can be very greasy, but the meat and everything was very well prepped with good flavor. I got the 5 taco platter with asada, chicken, and carnitas. All meats were delicious, but I especially loved the carnitas. A carnitas taco can be really good or really bad, so it can be a risky choice but this one was delicious. They have a fresh chips bar with salsa, cucumbers, and lemons while you wait for your food such a nice touch! We ordered two quesa birria taco plates, a carne asada burrito with rice, and an order of carne asada nachos. Everything came out super hot and fresh, which I love even the consomé on the side of our quesa birria tacos was piping hot. Long overdue review. This is my 12-year old son's favorite casual restaurant and he wants to spend all birthdays and celebration dinners here. This is our go-to place for birria tacos, Taco Tuesday, shrimp and octopus cocktail and pretty much everything else. The food is amazing - fresh and spicy. But it's the customer service that I love SO much. I've seen two separate impressive interactions between management and another customer that really "wow-ed" me. Then, my family has had two very sweet and generous interactions with the owner as well. I've been here 3x (order via phone to go) now and the first time I ordered a wet carne asada burrito, I asked for no salsa inside. When I went to eat it, the heat was too much for me, they added some red salsa I could see it was way too hot to enjoy, I had to give the rest away to someone who likes fire. I decided to give them a 2nd try because the meat I did manage to eat tasted promising so I ordered the same thing and again said no so salsa inside please and I received it just the way I wanted. I decided this 3rd time I was gonna give the carnitas all meat burrito a try, wet with no salsa and I just got home to eat it and again they added the red salsa inside, I cannot eat it, which is disappointing because I was looking forward to it. I tried to eat it but it's just too hot for me. I wish they'd just give people a cup or two of salsa rather than trying to add it since they keep messing up. The menu had something for everyone in the family, from meat lovers to horchata enthusiasts. The girls went for sopes, asada, and al pastor with rice and beans. No complaints from that corner of the table, except one shared opinion: the asada was... meh. We'll come back to that in a sec. Big love, though, for the refried beans--creamy, flavorful, and devoured without hesitation. The horchata? A certified crowd-pleaser. My son ordered the asada fries and seemed more emotionally attached to the horchata than the meat on his plate--but that didn't stop him from inhaling the whole thing. I came for tacos and got two each of asada, al pastor, and tripas. Hands down, the tripas stole the show. Perfectly crisp, flavorful, and balanced just right with a hit of salsa. Al pastor was solid but couldn't keep up with the tripas glow-up. As for the asada--now I understood the family feedback. A little tough, a little bland... it just wasn't vibing that night. Enter the real MVP: the agua de pepino y limón. This cucumber-lime agua fresca was a total curveball--in the best way. Crisp, cool, and refreshing enough to redeem the underwhelming asada. Came back on Saturday, 5.27.2023, so I could try their menudo. Again, Gerry greeted me. I was pleased when I ordered menudo he asked if I wanted it with hominy. Of course, I said yes. Before I could ask if I wanted Pata or not, he asked. I don't care for a Pata. I prefer more tripe. I enjoyed the menudo. The tripe was tender. I added onion, cilantro, lemon and red salsa from the salsa bar. It was very good and especially eith the corn tortillas. They had a constant flow of customers! I've ordered from this place numerous times. Everytime we did it through door dash because the location is all the way across town. As for taste it met all my expectations for a good tasting Mexican food. Loved their lengua tacos. Their taco salad is a hit and miss sometimes their chicken is dry. They provide a small bag of chip but they always forget to give you any salsa. Recently I ordered tostada mixta and no tostada was provided... Why?? Luckily I had some at home. I would love to give more stars if the orders were more accurate. They need to check their orders.
