Staff was really kind and helpful. The restaurant has TVs and a bar, would be a good place to come eat with lots of friends to watch sports. I ordered two pastor soft tacos and one asada soft taco with pozole. I asked for extra onions and cilantro. The marinade of the pastor was not up to par and I prefer when my meats are more crispy hence why I'm giving 3 stars. It's edible but not out of this world. The sauces were ok as well, they weren't spicy. The pozole was also just average, the pork could've been more tender and the soup is kind of bland but just added all the onions and lemon in it. I love how they make the soup extra hot (temperature). read more

I will never come back to this place. Food is mediocre, salsa tastes like tomato sauce, and WORST of ALL the hidden upcharges I wasn't aware of until reviewing my bill once I got home. Not sure what the hype was with this place. The service was awkward and the food was just so-so. It's a cafeteria vibe, so not the most comfortable either. Not sure if the menu was up to date, and the signs with the specials were not posted where we could see them from the table, so we didn't know about them when we were seated. My lil bro always makes me swoop up his grub from here. He is a regular here and loves to support a small ma and pa store in town! He always gets the carne asada fries or the birra tacos. Our family celebrates Mother's Day and many birthdays at this place. Reasons are no waiting ever! No reservations required. Their menudo is amazing and they serve it on daily bases, which is rare. Most places only have it on weekends. The tacos are good too. Especially the fish and shrimp tacos. Service is good and prompt. This is a mom and pop restaurant and that family works hard . So if you're in Castaic please,please support our local businesses. Instead of the fast food chains. They don't need the money. You get better food for less $ read more

Friendly customer service. Food was good. My half Mexican fiancé gave the the approval haha I was charged a dollar for cheese on the side. Was not expecting that nor given a heads up. That was annoying. But if you're on the side of the country, give them a try. They might look closed due to being empty and in the middle of nowhere but their open haha read more

Truly outstanding service set this place apart. The food is delicious, but the staff really went above and beyond. They brought my 1 year old daughter rice multiple times, which she loved, along with our burritos. They have a variety of great options and even play soccer on the televisions. I ate five tacos and right away I felt something was wrong. I woke up 3 am with insane body aches and shaking. It's 7 pm and I'm still food poisoned. I threw up and have bloody diarrhea. I can't fall asleep, trying not to goto ER. My wife had a torta and nothings wrong with her. I usually don't leave reviews but I feel like I'm poisoned with a bacteria. This is scary. We stopped at Chabelo's on the way up north as it is easy to access off the I - 5 freeway. The prices are really good for the size of the portion and the service is friendly. The tortilla chips and salsa are good tasting and the tacos and sopes are both delicious. We also ordered the healthy chicken plate. Large portion size for under $9. Great lunch special for $7. Food is cooked to order and made quickly and ingredients are fresh. I would recommend a stop at Chabelo's for lunch for just a couple dollars more than fast food you can get a home cooked Mexican meal. I highly recommend. 2 people cost under $20 for lunch. The menudo here is to die for. The food is amazing. They work really hard and the food is outstanding. Would recommend everyone to come and support local businesses. I will never eat at a fast food place with all these local businesses that need help. All the chains don't need the money. A few months ago I had good food delivered on time and delicious. Also last Thursday I had a few tamales pork and chicken take home, everyone enjoyed them. So today I called in to order 3 dozen pork, chicken and beef tamales. Most places don't have beef tamales. They were very friendly and helped me put them in my car. Brought them home for Christmas and my family enjoyed them ! I will be back to order their menudo and posole also their tacos next time. read more

Best Cali Burritos...better than most of the ones I have had down in SD where they were supposed to have got their start. I have had other items on the menu including Chile Verde and Chile Colorado, and they have been damn good as well. Friendly family-owned gem that does not get the same attention as other Mexican restaurants in the Castaic area. Check them out! read more

Doesnt add up. But today was the day i will stop coming. I saw the cook drop a piece of steak on the floor pick it up and put it back on the grill. After they noticed i saw that they put it on top of the warm table where the other food was. They finished my making my food and then when they thought i didnt see they put that steak on the customers plate and served it to him. Its one thing at your house to do that but when it comes to other peoples food come on. Who knows what could have been on that steak now. Bleach, dirt, grim, maybe feces. That is just text book no. Ive work in plenty of restaurants and i knew stuff like this could happen but to see it first hand made me sick. read more

We are new to the area and saw this place but we were unable to go in to the restaurant (the kids were asleep) so we came home and ordered the food on grub hub! 1st experience was amazing the food was delicious the staff was friendly overall great!! 2nd time I ordered was today and OMG today was better than the first time. My order was a bit tricky as I have some picky toddlers. there was a minor error and the staff went out of their way to make new ones and deliver w/in a matter of minutes~!!! The staff is kind, helpful and sweet. The food is delicious, authentic, and portion size is better then the other places in town!! Highly recommend for a sit down/delivery/ or to go!!! Food beverage and service are always impeccable. Always fun, accommodating, never stuffy. The atmosphere is as vibrant as the original Frontera with a more sophisticated bent. Noise level isn't bad after a a few drinks. We had very loud diners seater next to us. No fault of the Restaurant. Even the price is still reasonable. read more
