The service is great, food is delicious. Had their menudo and crunchy shredded beef tacos and it was amazing.

Staff was really kind and helpful. The restaurant has TVs and a bar, would be a good place to come eat with lots of friends to watch sports. I ordered two pastor soft tacos and one asada soft taco with pozole. I asked for extra onions and cilantro. The marinade of the pastor was not up to par and I prefer when my meats are more crispy hence why I'm giving 3 stars. It's edible but not out of this world. The sauces were ok as well, they weren't spicy. The pozole was also just average, the pork could've been more tender and the soup is kind of bland but just added all the onions and lemon in it. This place is so good! We tried a little bit of everything. Asada burrito, chicken quesidillas, chicken nachos, asada tacos and shrimp cocktail. It was all delicious! The owners were the ones that took our order, they were super nice! Definitely will come back to eat here again. read more

Not sure what the hype was with this place. The service was awkward and the food was just so-so. It's a cafeteria vibe, so not the most comfortable either. Not sure if the menu was up to date, and the signs with the specials were not posted where we could see them from the table, so we didn't know about them when we were seated. We stopped at Chabelo's on the way up north as it is easy to access off the I - 5 freeway. The prices are really good for the size of the portion and the service is friendly. The tortilla chips and salsa are good tasting and the tacos and sopes are both delicious. We also ordered the healthy chicken plate. Large portion size for under $9. Great lunch special for $7. Food is cooked to order and made quickly and ingredients are fresh. I would recommend a stop at Chabelo's for lunch for just a couple dollars more than fast food you can get a home cooked Mexican meal. I highly recommend. 2 people cost under $20 for lunch. A few months ago I had good food delivered on time and delicious. Also last Thursday I had a few tamales pork and chicken take home, everyone enjoyed them. So today I called in to order 3 dozen pork, chicken and beef tamales. Most places don't have beef tamales. They were very friendly and helped me put them in my car. Best Cali Burritos...better than most of the ones I have had down in SD where they were supposed to have got their start. I have had other items on the menu including Chile Verde and Chile Colorado, and they have been damn good as well. I've ordered several times from them and always being disappointed but have always thought maybe the next thing on the menu will be better and kept giving them a chance. They're the only Mexican place that deliver to our neighborhood through the app I use. Perhaps the food is better when you physically go to the restaurant to eat but I don't recommend ordering from them. Each order arrived cool to cold and sometimes soggy although the food did arrive within the allotted delivery time frame. The meat in the burritos, quesedillas, and meat nachos have been so chewy they seem like the leftover from the bottom of the pan. As others have mentioned in their reviews, the food also tastes bland. The chille relleno is usually something I love but it tasted like nothing. Just overall real disappointments because this family loves Mexican food. Bummer. read more
