This bakery was nothing short of AMAZING!! Kelly was so fantastic to work with and made my friend's birthday cake on such short notice and over the phone because I live out of state. It was even delivered to my hotel in downtown Nashville free of charge! She listened to my vision and this cake was incredible both inside and out!! Extremely disappointing presentation. Definitely not worth the money. We ordered over the phone and email for our Bachelorette weekend and were promised the airbrushed buttercream photo that we sent in. The fondant version is what we got complete with mis-spelling and child like painted on details. After notifying Kelly that we were not happy with the presentation she proceeded to text a bunch of photos of cakes she's done that turned out great, incessantly defending her sub-par work. She blamed the extreme heat for inability to complete as ordered, they tried putting it in the freezer to keep it cold but just too hot out. She said she would have directed us differently as far as type of cake decor if she had known the weather would be so hot- we ordered this cake far in advance and the the heat wave was anticipated days before we arrived. It really just seems like the type of detail we wanted was not something this bakery is capable of doing. We had the cake delivered to the house before we got there which was super convenient. Only got concerned with this after Kelly told us to make sure to lock our doors at night since we were in a "bad" neighborhood. Since the bakery had the code to our doors and she was texting this late at night, this comment was received as threatening and we became concerned for our safety. The customer service and service recovery is something this bakery really needs to work on, we will NEVER be working with them again. Only positives... The biggest challenge with this bakery is their lack of communication and unrealistic expectation for 2-3 weeks notice to place an order. I emailed them to ask if they can accommodate an order in less than 1 week. They wrote back saying that they think they can do it, but needed to know the type of cake and needed my credit card information to put me on the schedule. I tried emailing them back repeatedly and calling them but could not reach them. Overall, I think this represents poor customer service. If they could not accommodate me or they are too busy, I would have appreciated being told upfront. Their communication is unprofessional. I also think that 2 weeks notice for a cake is a bit too much for families who are busy, working and don't always have time to book 2 weeks in advance. To other customers who are reading this, I would recommend Sweet 16th Bakery and Baked on 8th as much better alternatives to this bakery. They can accommodate orders just a few days in advance, they respond to customers, and they bake delicious cakes. read more

Called this bakery to see if they can make a birthday cake for my daughter's 21st birthday. Spoke to Kelly assuming she's the owner and she was able to accommodate the short notice which I appreciated. I explained in detail what my daughter was looking for in her cake and showed her pictures told her the flavor and what we expected. unfortunately the cake was nothing what we asked for. I asked for chocolate mousse as a filling and we got very little chocolate mousse filling and all butter cream instead. the decorations for the cake look like a two year old did it. My daughter looked at the cake and was in full out tears. Her best friend had to redo the entire cake and this is not her profession and made it look 100 times better than what she Delivered. I couldn't believe that this woman is actually in business. Very disappointed very amateur like. I do not recommend this bakery at all if you're desperate and don't care, go for it, but this woman needs to take a baking and decorating classes. The cake was disgusting in taste. It was like sponge cake not birthday cake. Honestly shocking how this bakery stays alive. I should have known better when I looked at her gallery I was questioning her decorating in my head. To think I paid 125.00. We ended throwing the cake out as it was inedible. Kelly did refund my money. BTW this is my first review ever but this experience I had with Kelly was Horrible!!! I love this bakery. I order from them all the time but when i needed a specialty cake for an important birthday Kelly delivered. Guests were madly in love with her moist delicious white cake and her incredible yummy frosting. This bakery combines incredible taste with custom detailing. I had to drive this cake for 3 hours and kelly gave me cold packs and a non slip pad to help make sure it arrived perfectly. Thanks Kelly you are the best. read more

we've been cake tasting at different bakeries for our upcoming wedding, and had a very nice experience at sweet things bakery. the owner was very friendly and professional, and you can tell that she cares a lot about making sure her customers have a good experience and are happy w/ the products. they do a lot of custom orders w/ quick turn around times and have a large variety of desserts available (cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, cobblers, etc). the prices were also significantly cheaper than some of the quotes we received from other bakeries. read more
