While there are several Five Daughters Bakery locations in the area, this was the one I had planned to visit on my last day in town. When I arrived, there weren't many people in line, so ordering was quick and easy. Everything looked amazing! I knew I wanted to take some donuts home to share with my chiropractor and her team since she was actually the one who recommended that I visit in the first place. Thankfully, they offered a box of six mini donuts, which was the perfect option for sharing. Of course, I couldn't leave without getting a few full-sized donuts for myself and my husband. After much debate, I chose the Maldon Chocolate, Wild Berry, and Boston Cream. Once everything was packed up and ready to go, I headed outside, but there was no way I was waiting until I got home to try one. The Wild Berry donut was calling my name, so I took a bite right there. It was warm, soft, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The berry filling was delicious, and they definitely didn't skimp on it. Every bite was packed with sweet, fruity goodness. Honestly, that first bite was pure perfection and exactly what I needed before a long drive home. Sharing the donuts with everyone when I got back made the experience even more fun, and they were a huge hit. Had to stop by here during our recent visit to Nashville to get their famous donuts. We came within the last 30 min of their open hours so not much selection left. I made my family stop here in our road trip up north and they thought I was a bit crazy. One bite into the sea salt chocolate and vanilla cream cronut and they were literally eating their words. We were so excited to indulge I forgot to take photos! I got a huge box with some of the mini varieties and a few regular sized pastries and every single one was delicious. The creamy butter in the center of the maple was such a fun surprise and my mom raved about the chocolate filling in hers. The strawberry shortcake has a perfect crumbly top and the lemon one was perfect. Simply put, this bakery is really special and is creating something full of heart and flavor. I've been here many times. The donuts are good and consistent. Most recently I went on a Saturday evening around 6pm. Parking can be hit or miss - when it's not super busy you can sometimes find parking on the street right out front. The crowds, lines, parking is really dependent on the time of day and the tourist. I imagine in the mornings the line can get really long. I would say going at the end of the day was super easy, but they only had about 1/2 of the donuts as they do in the morning. We got a few different donuts and saved them for the morning and that seemed to work. Walking around in the area we needed a snack and heard that Five Daughters was the place to go. I finally see what the fuss is about at Five Daughters Bakery. The staff is warm and super friendly, which sets the tone as soon as soon as you walk in. Just came off a girls trip to Nashville and I must say visiting this place was one of my highlights. Our driver took us to this location fresh off our flight. I choose the strawberry shortcake and vanilla cream mini's. Both were reasonably priced. I also grabbed a bottled water because the heat in Nashville was nothing to play with. I loved how the water bottles were only $1. Especially since most places overprice theirs because they know it will sell. Both donuts were the amazing but baby that Strawberry Shortcake was thee BEST DONUT i'd ever had in my life. It was so good, I visited their other location by the assemby food hall for another AND went back to this location before heading to the airport the day after! Each visit I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake but on my last visit, I also added a Chocolate Eclair. When I say I am already planning my next trip to Nashville just for these donuts I mean it lol. I want to love them all... BUT I can say the Purist and Vanilla Cream were so good. The donuts are a mix between a cronut and a donut but kinda ride somewhere in between. They don't have the flake of a croissant or the light airy vibe of a yeast donut. I also tried the Strawberry Fields, Milk Chocolate, Blueberry Lemon and the Chocolate Sea Salt. The Blueberry Lemon was good the first day, but it seemed that the donuts don't hold up beyond fresh. I feel that may have changed my opinion on some of the other flavors. However, the vanilla crème was good the next day. I conclude they are not my favorite and I would probably stop in for something special to get the Purist or the Vanilla Crème. It was definitely an experience. I'm glad I tried them. However, I think I'm super spoiled by my pastry shoppes in the city and my favorite Amish bakers on the Shore. The flavor was nice but what I was really intrigued on was the aforementioned '100-layer'. After taking a bite, I didn't really get any unique texture. I have had cronuts before, and something that makes the layers standout, is if the texture is more prominent. Because these donuts were soft, you don't get to appreciate each layer. In contrast to when I've had cronuts with a 'crust/crispy' texture, that is when you really can feel and taste the different layers. The Maple Glaze flavor I enjoyed a bit more but overall it still had the same 'layer-texture' as the other. read more

Had the vanilla creme which is the most popular flavor and a chocolate sprinkle. I enjoyed the vanilla creme for the most part but it could have used a more authentic vanilla flavor either way vanilla beans. Service wise, the attendant had an interesting approach. I've had this place bookmarked on yelp for at least five years. And I'm not sure if this is the same location that they were that they used to be in I can't remember. But my daughter and I were staying in a hotel in Nashville, driving across country and it was kind of later in the evening and we decided that we needed to get some cookies or donuts or something for in the morning and for on the road because we had about 800 miles to cover the next day. So I checked yelp saw this and decided to give it a try. I'm glad there was parking in the back that was a plus for us because we were driving a car that I was unfamiliar with in parallel parking. We ordered the lemon icebox, the cinnamon toast, strawberry shortcake, and the maple. The maple turned out to by my favorite. It had that sweet icing but also a maple center. DONUT MISS OUT on Five Daughters when in Nashville! We have a location in Atlanta now, but I had to stop by the original... especially on National Donut Day! Everyone inside was super friendly and they let us walk through with the pup on a tight leash. We decided to order the strawberry shortcake donut (with ALL the 100 layers) and the strawberry glazed yeast raised donut because we were just in a summery mood. Both were excellent - although I will probably stick to their Cronut style donuts next time! The original size is also yummy, but the smaller ones allow you to try more flavors and share with friends! After enjoying the pillowy soft texture of their layered donuts, I really wanted to like the other pastries here. I opted for a quinn hoping it would be similar to a kouign amann with its countless buttery layers. I was sorely disappointed as the quinn was dry and dense at the same time. It felt more like a bread or biscuit instead of a flaky pastry. The bottom hadn't fully caramelized and it was falling off in sugary chunks and sticking to my hands and clothes.
