Stopped in last week for a bite to eat. The service and good coming out is super fast. But that is part of the problem. The meals came out so fast after the appetizer, like 2 minutes, it made us wonder about how things are cooked. Salsa doesn't have any heat to it, so it's good for kids and a weak palate. Guacamole Mexicano didn't taste fresh and no real flavor. The creamed guacamole which came with the fajitas was better. Speaking of fajitas, the skillet should come out sizzling. While the skillet was hot, the beef just seemed off, almost like it was pre-cooked and kept in a warmer. Also needs to be a thicker cut or it just seems like it could come from frozen. Now I can't give a full five, I didnt have a main course. I what I had was the salsa and chips. The salsa wasn't my favorite, I didn't like it at all really, the base had way to much of a tomato taste. I asked for a small cheese dip with jalapeños in it. When I got it I thought it was plain but after digging it had a very, very small amount... not very good in my opinion, but I will say the service was really good and really nice servers. The margaritas I had as well was really good, they are worth getting. Still worth stopping in and eating... I really liked the bar area and the inside was nice and inviting as well. On the menu They have shredded chicken chimichanga, I asked if they have shredded beef like the chicken. The waitress said yes, 35-40 minutes later they bring out hamburger meat, then the waitress argued with me. WILL NOT GO BACK!!!!!!! read more

I didn't know that Mexican food could be this bland outside of Taco Bell. Taco Bell actually has more flavor than this place. The staff was extremely and they have a full bar. That's all I can say was good at this place. It's really popular with the white boomer crowd. I got the fajitas and they were tasteless. My husband got the shrimp tacos and they were very cold. One of them only had 2 shrimp in it. I don't know how they won the "best Mexican restaurant" award from the Northeast Georgian. It has to be because only white people over 50 vote in that stuff. This is our go-to local Mexican. Close to home. Consistent. Good skinny Margarita. Great nachos and enchiladas and burritos. The chips and salsa are pretty standard. It does get pretty noisy in the larger rooms because of how open it is and the larger tables for groups in the middle. Service is always pretty good and we always walk out feeling full. read more

I met my nephew there, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere, excellent food and amazing service. Both of our entrées were delicious. We had fajita quesadillas and chicken dish. The chips, salsa, and house margarita were very, very good! I probably should've looked at my receipt a little bit closer but it seems like there was an 8% tax and 17% tax. I tipped 20% on top of all of that. Not sure what the 17% tax was for. Great location, easy to get to, and will definitely be back! read more

We have enjoyed Mexican food all over the east coast, but none quite as much as el jinete! Aside from how loud it can get, due to multiple large parties, it is fantastic!! The food is CONSISTENTLY great, I now have 3 favorite dishes here, and will most likely discover a few more. The service has been wonderful every time we have been there. When we walked in the restaurant, we were immediately pleased with What we saw. The place was clean and inviting. Our experience was wonderful. We were greeted by the hostess and our server with such nice attitude. As soon as we sat down, warm chips and salsa were placed on the table. Oh my! So good! Our server, Ismael, was so sweet and made it clear that we should take our time. We did! The margarita I had was really good, my husband had a draft beer. When we were ready to actually have a meal, we were not too hungry, so I got the ground beef bowl and shared half with my husband- he had #11 combo. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Georgia. I've tried several dishes including carnitas, chicken soup, and garlic shrimp. The veggies are always fresh and food is well seasoned without being too salty. Lots of parking along the side and back of building. I gave it 4, not 5, stars because I like thin tortilla chips. Their (free) tortilla chips are traditional thickness. Also, service can be spotty depending on who is helping you but overall I've had good experiences. read more

Super friendly and attentive staff. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant where drinks and chip basket never get empty before the refills are placed in front of you. Ordered the steak burrito and chicken flautas. The burrito is large enough to feed multiple people with an tomatillo sauce that the best I've ever eaten. The steak was well prepared and very tender. I like flautas more than taquitos and they met my request without hesitation. Food was fresh, high quality and well seasoned. Came to visit on vacation and am always craving mexican so my group went to the closest location. Started off great because the margs are strong, and delicious! We had thought that there was plastic in our salsa so we asked the waiter and it turned out to be cilantro? Still a bit confused on what it was but we ate it anyway and thought that he was avoiding us after but seemed to warm up after a little bit of time. The food eventually came, and half the table got fajitas. Looked great, big portions but after making 1 fajita, I ended finding a fairly long hair wrapped around a piece of the pepper in my food. I asked to talk to someone about it and the waiter went to the back to see if it came from anyone. The manager ended up coming back and claiming that "there is nobody here that has black hair in the kitchen", even though I could spot 2 women right behind her that had hair that fit the piece I found in my food. Felt super accusatory, didn't like the tone of the manager and honestly ruined the dinner. I would say to come here for good food sizes but I would be cautious while eating. read more

I think we've eaten at nearly every Mexican restaurant in Helen, Cleveland, and Cornelia, but this one is the best to us. The food was great; the service was super; the atmosphere was very nice; and the bathroom was clean. It drives me crazy to order a "staple" dish, like chili relleno, and they make it using some Guatemalan or Paula Deen recipe.
