Visiting family in the area and just had our second meal here. Last time was July 2025. Decent inexpensive Mexican food and if they can figure out how to fully cook the rice, it would be pretty good. Both times we ate here the rice wasn't completely cooked and gave our food that distinctive crunch that we'd rather get from the tortilla chips. In fact, a family member from here mentioned they don't eat here often because each time they do they're reminded that the rice isn't completely cooked. read more

Went in to get a quick burrito. There was only one person in the entire restaurant eating. The employee was making call in orders. I'm standing right there ready to place an order and leave. He told me it would be a few minutes. Doesn't make sense I'm standing here the orders he's making are just going to be sitting. read more

Absolutely had a blast coming here. It's a mix feeling of chipotle,moes, and burrito shak all mixed in one. The decor and sitting area were modern and clean. Loved the lighting as well. Outside was very nice and clean. The food was top notch. I got a burrito bowl and some sauces that were great. The dessert was rich and indulging. I should have run when I saw the mozzarella. This has to be the most offensive thing done to Mexican food since the chihuahua was representing tacobell. The reviews about the line and wait are absolutely accurate, I stood a long time in line and stuck it out for the sake of seeing it through, and I regret it completely. I purchased the Steak Nachos and the best part of them were the fresh tortilla chips, the 'queso' tasted like melted velveta and american cheese, coagulated immediately, and the steak's texture and taste were so bad I had about 3 bites and literally threw 15 dollars in the garbage. The lemonade tasted like country time to boot, I am just astounded in all the wrong ways. The service wasn't terrible, but I did overhear a floor manager tell them "no more than five shreds of mozarella per order" which was appalling at the prices, apparently this was to conserve the last of the coveted cheese. If you think this is going to be like qdoba, or chipolte do not walk away, run. read more

We were a party of 6 adults for dinner last Friday evening at 5:30. It was my first time and I can't wait to go back. The server behind the counter explained how the process worked. Its kind of a Mexican food Subway where the counter servers customize your toppings for you. 2 of us had the Small Nachos which were, in fact, huge. I had the pork, my friend had the chicken and we got to top them anyway we wanted with fresh ingredients. Both of us ate every bite, because they were so good. No doggie bags for us! Imagine if Chipotle had more choices. That's basically Surcheros. You pick a medium (bowl, burrito, or quesadilla), protein, rice, and beans; so far, just like Chipotle. But then, the list of toppings and sauces will give you analysis paralysis. I got pretty basic stuff (pico, corn salsa, guac, cheese) because there were people behind me in line, but I want to go again at a less busy time to try some more combinations. Guac (on your burrito or bowl) is NOT an additional charge, which was refreshing. Chips and salsa (from the salsa bar, like Moe's has) are also complimentary. Guac and/or queso for dipping are not. While I enjoyed having my burrito thrown on the grill for a minute or two, it slows down the process and stalls the line to pay. The employee working the cash register also just moved really slowly and without any sense of purpose. They would do well to put someone more energetic in that important spot. However, our burritos, chips, and salsa were delicious. I especially enjoyed the spicy garlic salsa. Everything tasted really fresh, and the interior of the restaurant is also bright and clean. Recently moved back to the Cornelia area & missed the convenience of Chipotle, I was so happy when I discovered Surcheros. I frequent it at minimum once a week. Sometimes they're a little slow but since the new has worn off, I rarely wait in line longer than 5min in/out. The mini-nachos are incredible, better than Moe's. The quesadillas & bowls are better than Chipotle. The Surcheros sauce is phenomenal. Taco Bell doesn't come anywhere close. The only Subway-esqe burrito place that comes close in my book is Freebirds, a chain with restaurants around Austin, TX. read more

Staff wasn't the friendliest, they weren't rude necessarily just not very welcoming or friendly, which is fine. The food for what it is, is just ok. Prices seem too high for what you get. Food was fresh though so that's a plus but just not really worth the price. The inside looked nice . read more

I placed a online order and it told me to pick up the order at 1:22 PM. It is a Sunday and I understand that the restaurant is busy, but no one even came to the window until 1:30. At that time the line finally slowed down. Then they started our order. Then I asked to speak to a manager. She tried to explain to me that it is Sunday and that they can't do orders before then. I understand if you're busy, but then don't allow your system to state you can pick up an order at 1:22. You would make it a later time. What was more frustrating is that she didn't try to apologize at all but instead tried to tell me I was wrong and because she didn't wanna deal with the situation. She then tried to claim I was cussing at her. I really hope they have auto with their video. The only thing I stated to her is why the hell would I have ordered online which took 30 minutes where I could've picked up the order by walking in faster. What's the point of the online ordering? That's what I asked her and that's what I said to her. There was no cussing. She then told me that her parents are the general managers which is fine and dandy. I hope they are. But they need to train her better. My husband and I deal with restaurants regularly. We understand the pressures of a restaurant. But that type of lack of training was very unacceptable. I really did like the restaurant. But given this experience, I know my husband is not gonna allow us to go back now. read more

I love Surcheros! So much better than Chipotle as they are willing to grill your burrito. Make sure to ask them to grill your veggies before they put it in your burrito. It is a game changer in terms of melding all the great flavors. read more

Terrible. Will not be back. Been twice, takes so long to get through line that food is cold by the time you finally have to pay. They focus on pickup orders and ignore people in line inside restaurant. They have not figured out how to make this work. read more

This place is new to our area so very crowded. However, it's been good every single time we've visited. The wait is understandable due to its popularity and they've only slightly messed up my online order once by not adding my sauce. It's worth the stop if you've never had Surcheros. read more

The staff is friendly. However, since it's the new place in town, they seem understaffed and overworked. I placed an order on Door Dash with a 30 minute window and it was not ready on time. The food is very bland and lacking flavor. I ordered the bowl and it was as if the beans and corn came straight from a can. Wondering if it will improve as time moves on. Also, none of the flavor items, like guac and cilantro dressing on my order made it to the bowl or bag. That might also be a reason for the bland flavor. It took so long to get through the line that by the time we sat down to eat, our food was cold. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty though. The employees are nice, and it's clean. I wanted to give it a try at least once since it's a new place in town.
