I was excited to visit Zocalo as I had heard there was a good number of food trucks that are stationed here. It has all the marks of a good food truck park. There's plenty of parking with a private lot and free street parking just across the street. There's plenty of seating, with outdoor covered and uncovered seating. I saw completely enclosed plastic huts as well for the winter so there's heated seating options. There are clean bathrooms too. There are so many options to choose from in both variety and number of vendors. There's ice cream to sushi to Puerto Rican food, and everything in between. We've been to Zocalo on a couple different occasions and have enjoyed our visits here. Zocalo is a well executed food truck park in Walker's Point. According to their website, they have 11 vendors with an array of cuisine from burgers to bagels to tacos to pizza to arepas. They also have a bar with some indoor seating to enjoy your cocktail and food truck eats during the cooler months as well. I don't know if they do it every year but one year we were able to make igloo reservations in the winter and enjoy our dinner in a heated glass igloo, which was fun. It's a fun spot to go with a large group with varying tastes as they're so much to choose from. They also regularly have special events. Most recently we stopped by for a paint and sip event. They have a small, heated/cooled event space in the back where we enjoyed painting and sipping for an evening. All in all a fun little spot in the ever alluring Walker's Point neighborhood. It's space outdoors is quite spacious in the nice weather and they have even created warming huts that can be used during the winter! A melting pot of great flavors - there is something for everyone here. With so many food truck options and fairly easy ordering through your phone in many cases, you can get ordered, hang out and have a drink from the bar while socializing with your friends before going to head over to wait to grab your food. It is family and dog friendly and is often hosting fun events. Make sure you get there and if anything reserve a table, because the place gets BUSY! Back again with another five-star Zocalo experience. Just so happy our city has a place like this because it's such a great spot to bring the community, and multiple businesses together. Big fan of the scan & order on your phone layout they have. It makes it so simple to not only scroll through all the different menus but also place your order and be notified when it's ready. That goes for the bar too - we ordered drinks via phone and they were brought right to our table. Loved the margaritas the most. Not too sweet, and generous with the tequila portion. You can tell they're fresh and not just poured from a pre-made bottle. The dried lime garnish is also a nice touch. Opted for tacos from Mazorca because they're the tastiest and also at an insanely cheap price. Three tacos later and I didn't even spend 10 bucks! You can't really go wrong with any that you choose but I've gotta say the birria is the winner. It was a gorgeous night so the food truck park was bustling with people. I had a great experience at Zocalo Food Truck Park. I would recommend coming here for a good variety of food from their list of several food trucks. With different many different types of food to pick from you are bound to find one that tickles your fancy. The particular one I would personally suggest is Triciclo Peru, their empanadas are to die for! We came this past Saturday afternoon and ordered some food from two of the trucks. After picking up our food we went inside and were able to sit right at the bar of the Zocalo Tavern and ate our food because the weather outside wasn't the greatest. My boyfriend ordered a Spicy Bloody Mary, he really enjoyed it. The staff their is amazing! I wish I could remember the names of the bartenders but I believe they were both teachers as well. They were such nice people who were so friendly and gave us great recommendations for local things to do. If I was ever back in the area I would definitely stop back in and try more food from the various trucks and get drinks there again. read more

One of a kind place in Milwaukee. While it sounds similar to the Crossroads Collective on North and Prospect, instead of several restaurants with a shared eating area, it has a rotating selection of food trucks with different cuisine from sushi to pizza to burgers to tacos and ice cream. There's many benches throughout, although some wobbly. There is also clear enclosures to eat in that you can rent. Zocalo has building with an inside area to bring into plus sells a large variety of liquor and beer. No soap in the outside restroom though. Got tacos from Mazorca. Tastes great. Fun night at Zocalo! First time going and they had a number of vendors to choose from on a Wednesday night, including some that weren't scheduled to be there. There was a private event which included a comedian so that was an added bonus. Drinks were good, but a little pricey at $11/margarita. Beers were in the $5-7 range which isn't too bad. Milwaukee's Food Truck Zocalo has become one of my favorites. Since we live a few minutes walk away, the Zocalo is convenient. Yet, the concept comes to fruition in such special ways. I love it! In the Wisconsin fashion, the food truck park has two bars, one an enclosed tavern, the other a beer and cocktail truck. Picnic tables are plentiful and dogs are allowed. It's safe, families welcome, and sometimes a band/D.J. Plays or spins for your enjoyment. The food is fantastic, and some iconic Milwaukee purveyors are represented: Hot Box Pizza, Scratch Ice Cream, Mazorca Tacos, Ruby's Bagels, a Sushi place, a Venezuelan Arepa truck, and a sandwich venue are the ones I'm familiar with. They are all good. Last night I hosted 16 people at the Zocalo by reserving two picnic tables for the evening. Everyone found easy parking nearby, and they all had a fantastic time, telling me how great the Zocalo was despite their concerns about it being too crowded or inconvenient. It isn't. The Zocalo is wonderful and another aspect of Milwaukee that makes it a fantastic place to live. read more

Interesting permanent food truck round-up! I had this bookmarked as just a taco place, but upon arriving I realized it was a bunch of different food trucks with a central bar, and in the parking lot next door a bit of a flea market. It turns out that the taco truck was actually the least appealing one for me so I made a whole round trying to decide on something. I ended up at a sushi truck and was just about ready to settle for an enticing roll when I spotted my white whale of a food item...a sushi burrito! Dang it...I'M IN. As the meme says "Shut up and take my money!" I ordered up at the window, waiting hungrily and impatiently while searching out some shade in which to stand and eat once my food was done (the main thing lacking at Zocalo is covered or shaded seating areas). My food came out, I found my boyfriend in a shady strip of pavement and I chowed the heck down. I got the Brewers Burrito (less the jalapeno...my white girl tastebuds know their limits without shame), topped it with some soy sauce and holy heck! It was delicious! I mean....it is basically a thicker, un-sliced sushi roll...but don't rain on my parade! I wanted a sushi burrito and I gosh darn got it! In it's favor is the ease of eating in a food truck/high chances of standing or walking while eating sort of situation over traditional sushi rolls/chopsticks situation. Lots of options, but not all of them are open every day or at the same hours. A great concept with upper-middle-end execution. I would happily return and try other food trucks. read more

A dedicated food truck park with fixed and rotating vendors, plus a large patio with plenty of seating, and a building that comes alive at night with a full bar and music, adding a club/lounge atmosphere! I think it could benefit from more space for additional food trucks, but you gotta start somewhere, am I right? Right now, they've got a taco truck, a burger truck, an Asian rice bowl truck, a bagel truck (that sells out early morning and closes, so get there around 7:00 or 8:00), and a handmade premium ice cream truck. Rotating food vendors have includes empanadas, smoked BBQ, arepas, and others. I've gone several times and am overdue for a trip back. you should definitely pay them a visit! read more

It was lunch time and while I was in the area I looked at my bookmarks to see what I had and this place was close. Knowing nothing about this place but I gathered by the pictures that it's a centralized location for food trucks/stands. To my surprise it's more than just a lot with food trucks because it has nice indoor and outdoor open seating to enjoy what ever food that you decide to get. The bbq place was not open which would have been my first choice so I settled on Bowl cut because a bowl kind of sounded good. I got the teriyaki rice bowl with charcoal grilled glazed chicken. The teriyaki rice bowl was sticky rice topped with the glazed charcoal chicken. The charcoal glazed chicken was a moist thigh and very tasty with that nice charcoal flavor and I had it topped with an over easy egg. The glaze was very good with a small fresh citrus flavor that left me wanting just a little more in the bowl. The sticky white rice after the tasty chicken was gone could have used some soy sauce or something because it was pretty boring. The bowl cost $11 which I thought was kind of pricey for how small it was when you compare what $11 will get you off the average Chinese sit down menu. read more

I love Ruby's Bagels! I know they have received lots of compliments. They deserve all of them for sure! They have plain, sesame, everything and rosemary sea salt bagels, and plain, jalapeño and onion and cheddar spreads on their regular menu. They also serve hot coffee and cold brew from Collectivo and have oat milk as milk option, which is great and saves me time to get everything I need for breakfast. You can choose to get the bagel as it is or toasted and with spread on side or on top of the bagel. Ruby, her husband and her staff are all super nice. I mean, what can be better than seeing some friendly, smiling faces, eating a warm, fresh bagel with delicious spread, and having a refreshing cold brew or hot coffee in hand to start the day! Bowl Cut: My boyfriend and I also tried the place on a Thursday for dinner. I ordered three things to take away, and it took them about 15 mins to prepare. Not bad. The Korean Rice Bowl was delicious with tender, juicy and flavorful short ribs and other refreshing well-seasoned toppings. However, the Cha Shu Bowl and the wings were disappointing. I agreed with one of the reviewers that the wings were very dry. The seasoning was also a bit off - like both of us could not tell what kind of flavor those wings had. The Cha Shu Bowl had only a few slices of pork belly and they were also dry. I did like their idea to include some fresh cold cucumber in the toppings though. Overall, I like their concept and appreciate that Zócalo has a Korean inspired food truck! I wish they could make some improvement. Definitely would love to try the place again. Fontelle's Eatery: went for dinner and ordered their original burger, "that's my jam" burger and kimchi fries. Very nice people. Both burgers had very juicy and flavorful beef patties and perfectly toasted bread. I was totally blown away by the That's my jam burger. The aioli and the caramelized onion added the nice sweetness to the meat. And the fried egg was not dry and went so well with the meat and the melty Gouda cheese. So good. The original burger was simpler and more savory and less sweet compared to that's my jam, but was also delicious. The kimchi fries - you need to try it if you go there. Generous portion. Fries were pretty standard, but the seasoning, the kimchi and all other small toppings were special and absolutely delicious! Next time we will try the taco place! I was carrying 2 large boxes of food from Fontelle when my phone rang. The lady at the taco place reached out immediately and asked me if I needed any help. So nice! read more

Walking distance from the Laughing Tap (just a block away), the Iron Horse Hotel, and my house is this bar with indoor and outdoor seating that hosts a variety of food trucks. On a weekend evening, Botanas and Casa de Alberto are packed tight with lengthy waits, but at Zocalo there's lots of outdoor seating in nice weather. At other places where food trucks gather, they are all Mexican cuisine, and here there's always one good Mexican truck and then other choices. Except when they are playing music, the place is child friendly, which of course I find to be a negative (both loud inappropriately explicit music and children). However, a random child did give me a pretty good tip on the pizza truck and maybe he should start YELPing. This is the perfect solution if you're out with a group of friends and you share the same sense of humor (we went to see Hari Kondabolu) but not the same taste in food (some like it bland). read more
