Guess the last time that I was here was well over 5-8 years ago. Overall I did like the food but personally thought it was pricey for lunch They do have a loyalty program in place You order at the counter and your order will come Plus you will get chips and salsa For me it's out of the way to patronize but willing to come every few months As I was paying my bill. Noticed a cash amount vs a credit/debit card amount

Great place in the suburbs in Pewaukee for dining with your friends. I went here during late afternoon In the winter. Great food! Nice presentation for food. Has vegetarian options. I didn't see any gluten free specific options but would be nice to indicate it on the menu. The place was a little busy but we didn't have a problem finding a table. You order your food at the front and find a table do seating. It makes it convenient so your food is up front.

My wife and I recently moved to Waukesha and have been excited to explore local dining options, particularly in search of an excellent Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, The Spanish Traveler did not meet our expectations. During our lunch visit, we ordered chicken quesadillas to share, and each selected a chimichanga (one steak, one beef). The chicken quesadillas were well-prepared and flavorful, though they were served with only a very small drop of sour cream on the plate. At $16, we expected a bit more in terms of both portion and presentation. The chimichangas, while nicely plated, were much smaller than what we've typically experienced at other Mexican restaurants. At a combined cost of $71 for our lunch (receipt attached for reference), I was surprised by the modest portion sizes. However, what truly sealed our decision not to return was the handling of a simple request. My wife asked for additional sour cream, and we were informed there would be an extra charge of $1. After spending $71 on a meal, being told we would need to pay an additional dollar for what amounts to a very small condiment felt unreasonable and left a poor impression. In my view, a business should be focused on building relationships and loyalty, especially with new customers. Charging a premium for a minimal cost item after a substantial meal purchase felt pennywise and dollar foolish. It may have saved the restaurant a few cents today, but it cost them our future business. Waukesha offers many Mexican dining options, and I'm confident we will find a restaurant that values its customers' experience more thoughtfully. Would you expect to pay an additional dollar for a small amount of sour cream after spending $71 on lunch? I personally would not--and didn't.

Really good food, worth the money. Exited my expectations. Recommend if you like authentic Mexican flavors

I really wish I could give 3.5 stars. The setup of this place is wildly inefficient, but it's hard to take off a full star because the food is delicious. All orders are taken at the counter and when I was there it was just one woman taking orders. The entire time I was there, the line was out the door. It moves slow because there are lots of options, most things can be customized with the meat, and the menu is hard to see unless you pull it up on your phone. Once you order you take your number back to your table, grab any drinks, and wait for your food to be brought out to you - it's a strange mix of table and counter service. Food comes out as it's ready. For a table of four my family's food came out 15 minutes before mine was done. I went over to the serving station to inquire and was greeted with a look of disdain. Apparently it's not polite to inquire when your family is nearly done and you haven't even received a thing. When you finish you have to take your number back up the counter, keep it mind it's still just one person, and checkout to finalize your bill. Supposedly, this is so you can keep a tab going, but it's not the type of environment that you'd stay all night. So now to the food. The chips that arrive when you sit down are quite nice - a light crunch and a little salt. Wasn't a huge fan of of the salsa. In the spirit of trying things, I had the three choice combo plate. The tostada was a little hard to break apart and eat, but the toppings piled on top made it worth it. The taquito had a perfectly crispy crunch on the outside and packed with meat on the inside. It probably could've used a little dipping sauce. The best item for me was the empanada - crunchy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. It also had toppings over the top to add a bit more dimension. As is, I recommend you order ahead or delivery if it's possible to avoid the chaotic service. Certainly the best mix of Latin American food you will get in the area.

Stopped in for lunch after a long morning and didn't know what to expect. This place has a somewhat limited menu but the food was fantastic. 3 or is had different things and they were all delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. You never know with strip mall restaurants but these guys knocked it out of the park. Great atmosphere, solid staff , clean and casual dining especially for a working lunch.

Found out tables were only available via reservation which I thought was a bit odd for a Mexican restaurant but we were offered a seat at the bar so we jumped on that. Inside the decor was festive with a number of Frida pictures and great wallpaper in the restroom. We ordered guacamole and tacos. The guacamole came out quickly and was tasty, with a slightly sweet twist due to the pomegranate seeds and chips just as I like them. I ordered the milwalke and manolos bam bam tacos. I preferred the bam bam because it was filled a bit more but I didn't love the mayo based sauce on either. I would've preferred that on the side or, even better, an offering of salsa instead. I would've loved to review their salsa but only heard about it as I was finished up and it was offered to the couple sitting next to us at the bar. I was excited to try here but there were a few misses during our visit so we'll head to other local restaurants when we're in the area for a more satisfying meal next time.

Busy restaurant, great things are in store. We were greeted by friendly bartenders but after dropping off water, took them a long time to come back around to take our order. When they did came back, it was to ask us to accommodate another couple at the bar by sliding over, rather than take our order. Eventually we ordered, guac of course and a few tacos each. The guac came out super quick, which was a good thing because the tacos took forever, like 30 minutes or more. Which for tacos, should never take that long. We also had to ask for napkins and utensils at this time. The food showed up, quesa-birria and the brisket. The brisket taco was excellent. If I come back, I'll order those. The birria was soggy and lacked the crispiness expected from something called birria. Even tho there was consomme called out in the description, non was provided. What made it worse is when the food was delivered to a couple near by, they were offered salsa and all the things. Felt like we missed out on things. It should have been better. Not sure I'll give it another try.

Followed by the Lengua tacos. WOW. Of course you have to try the Quesabirria Tacos w/consume. Dynamite! My wife always gets the chicken enchilada in salsa roja, my daughter a quesadilla (she boring). Jalisco has the BEST sides of rice and beans I've ever had in a Mexican establishment, great flavors and respect for the ingredients and cooking process so everything shines through. They have Elote too, not quite the traditional way but damn I can't stop eating it! I've tried almost the whole menu; the lomo en salsa de arbol, carne asada, chile rellenos, bistec à la mexicana, gorditas w/carnitas & chorizo. I could eat here everyday! It's a cute little place with great service. Recently I caught some World Cup action while we waited. Different beers and sodas (Modelo, Jarritos) are available, as well as fresh guacamole and pico de gallo. They make a spicy taco salsa that's the right amount of heat and flavor. Give the a try, you won't regret it! Never errored an order of mine either, very consistent - and affordable! Like wow!

Firstly, the service is amazing. All the staff are so friendly and polite. You are free to sit wherever you would like upon arriving, and a waiter follows you shortly to your table to drop off chips and salsa and inquire about drinks. Soon after that, you are asked what you would like for your main course, a question which I have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes to be fulfilled. They are so so efficient here with zero sacrifice to the quality of their dishes. The guacamole is so creamy and delicious, and the steak and chicken tacos are personal favorites of mine. There are many dining options in the area, and I have recommended Senor Tomas to many friends over the years. Last night I had an unpleasant experience. I am a (somewhat) senior citizen at 67, and my GF recommended a few alternate places, but it was such a beautiful evening that I recommended that we go to ST and dine on the patio. We walked onto the patio and stood waiting to be seated. My GF has a problem with her foot, and standing and walking can be painful. I asked the waitress/hostess if we could please be seated. She said that someone would seat us. There were 12 or 14 tables and only 2 had people seated at them. We stood there waiting for maybe 5 or 10 minutes, and I finally decided to just seat ourselves (even if temporarily) at a small table with 2 chairs. After a few minutes, the Manager abruptly charged out of the restaurant door to our table with a very angry look on his face. He did not greet us, but instead said "Do NOT seat yourselves, if you do, you run the risk not being noticed or served at all". I corrected him and told him politely in a calm voice that we HAD asked to be seated, but were not, so we sat down. He did not apologize, but left if a huff. I guess the customer is NOT always right. I noticed that the Manager thanked other tables as they left, but he ignored us (fine) We completed our (great) meal, drinks and desert. The bill was over $100, and we tipped generously. Maybe the Manager was having a bad day, but he should not take it out on his customers. I am not sure if we will return to what was one of our favorite local restaurants.
